Giobbe 26

1 E GIOBBE rispose, e disse:

But Job answered and said,

2 O quanto hai tu [bene] aiutato il debole, Ed hai salvato il braccio fiacco!

To whom dost thou attach thyself, or whom art thou going to assist? is it not he that [has] much strength, and [he] who has a strong arm?

3 O quanto hai tu [ben] consigliato colui che è privo di sapienza, E [gli] hai largamente dimostrata la ragione!

To whom hast thou given counsel? is it not to him who has all wisdom? whom wilt thou follow? is it not one who has the greatest power?

4 A cui hai tu tenuti questi ragionamenti? E lo spirito di cui è uscito di te?

To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose breath is it that has come forth from thee?

5 I giganti sono stati formati [da Dio], E [gli animali] che stanno nelle acque [sono stati formati] sotto esse.

Shall giants be born from under the water and the inhabitants thereof?

6 L'inferno [è] ignudo davanti a lui, E non [vi è] copritura alcuna al [luogo del]la perdizione. (Sheol h7585)

Hell is naked before him, and destruction has no covering. (Sheol h7585)

7 Egli distende l'Aquilone in sul vuoto, Egli tiene sospesa la terra in su niente.

He stretches out the north wind upon nothing, and he upon nothing hangs the earth;

8 Egli serra le acque nelle sue nuvole, E non però si schiantano le nubi sotto esse.

binding water in his clouds, and the cloud is not rent under it.

9 Egli tavola la superficie del [suo] trono, Egli spande la sua nuvola sopra esso.

He keeps back the face of his throne, stretching out his cloud upon it.

10 Egli ha con la sesta posto un certo termine intorno alle acque, [Il qual durerà] infino alla fine della luce e delle tenebre.

He has encompassed the face of the water by an appointed ordinance, until the end of light and darkness.

11 Le colonne de' cieli sono scrollate, Ed attonite, quando egli [le] sgrida.

The pillars of heaven are prostrate and astonished at his rebuke.

12 Egli ha fesso il mare con la sua forza, E col suo senno ha trafitto Rahab.

He has calmed the sea with [his] might, and by [his] wisdom the whale has been overthrown.

13 Egli ha col suo Spirito adorni i cieli; La sua mano ha formato il serpente guizzante.

And the barriers of heaven fear him, and by a command he has slain the apostate dragon.

14 Ecco, queste cose [son solo] alcune particelle delle sue vie; E quanto poco [è] quel che noi [ne] abbiamo udito? E chi potrà intendere il tuono delle sue potenze?

Behold, these are parts of his way; and we will hearken to him at the least intimation of his word: but the strength of his thunder who knows, when he shall employ [it]?
