Isaia 66

1 COSÌ ha detto il Signore: Il cielo [è] il mio trono, e la terra [è] lo scannello de' miei piedi; dove [è] la Casa che voi mi edifichereste? e dove [è] il luogo del mio riposo?

Thus said Jehovah: The heavens [are] My throne, And the earth My footstool, Where [is] this — the house that ye build for Me? And where [is] this — the place — My rest?

2 E la mia mano ha fatte tutte queste cose, onde tutte sono state [prodotte], dice il Signore; a chi dunque riguarderò io? all'afflitto, ed al contrito di spirito, ed a colui che trema alla mia parola.

And all these My hand hath made, And all these things are, An affirmation of Jehovah! And unto this one I look attentively, Unto the humble and bruised in spirit, And who is trembling at My word.

3 Chi scanna un bue [mi è come se] uccidesse un uomo; chi sacrifica una pecora [mi è come se] tagliasse il collo ad un cane; chi offerisce offerta [mi è come se offerisse] sangue di porco; chi fa profumo d'incenso per ricordanza [mi è come se] benedicesse un idolo. Come essi hanno scelte le lor vie, e l'anima loro ha preso diletto nelle loro abbominazioni,

Whoso slaughtereth the ox smiteth a man, Whoso sacrificeth the lamb beheadeth a dog, Whoso is bringing up a present — The blood of a sow, Whoso is making mention of frankincense, Is blessing iniquity. Yea, they have fixed on their own ways, And in their abominations their soul hath delighted.

4 io altresì sceglierò i lor modi di fare, e farò venir sopra loro le cose ch'essi temono; perciocchè, io ho gridato, e non [vi è stato] alcuno che rispondesse; io ho parlato, ed essi non hanno ascoltato; anzi hanno fatto quello che mi dispiace, ed hanno scelto ciò che non mi aggrada.

I also — I fix on their vexations, And their fears I bring in to them, Because I have called, and there is none answering, I spake, and they have not hearkened, And they do the evil things in Mine eyes, And on that which I desired not — fixed.

5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola. I vostri fratelli che vi odiano, e vi scacciano per cagion del mio Nome, hanno detto: Apparisca pur glorioso il Signore. Certo egli apparirà in vostra letizia, ed essi saran confusi.

Hear a word of Jehovah, Ye who are trembling unto His word, Said have your brethren who are hating you, Who are driving you out, for My name's sake: 'Honoured is Jehovah, and we look on your joy,' But they are ashamed.

6 [Vi è] un suono di strepito [ch'esce] della città, un romore [che esce] del tempio; [ch'è] la voce del Signore, che rende la retribuzione a' suoi nemici.

A voice of noise [is] from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of Jehovah, giving recompence to His enemies.

7 Quella ha partorito innanzi che sentisse le doglie del parto; innanzi che le venissero i dolori, si è sgravidata di un figliuol maschio.

Before she is pained she hath brought forth, Before a pang cometh to her, She hath delivered a male.

8 Chi udì mai una cotal cosa? chi vide mai cose simili? potrebbe un paese esser partorito in un giorno? o potrebbe una nazione nascere ad una volta, che Sion abbia sentite le doglie del parto, ed abbia partoriti i suoi figliuoli, come prima ha sentiti i dolori del parto?

Who hath heard anything like this? Who hath seen anything like these? Is earth caused to bring forth in one day? Born is a nation at once? For she hath been pained, Zion also hath borne her sons.

9 Io, che fo partorire, non potrei io generare? dice il Signore; io, che fo generare, sarei io sterile? dice l'Iddio tuo.

'Do I bring to the birth, And not cause to bring forth?' saith Jehovah, 'Am not I He who is causing to beget? I have also restrained,' said thy God.

10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, e festeggiate in essa, [voi] tutti che l'amate; gioite con lei d'una [gran] gioia, [voi] tutti che facevate cordoglio di lei.

Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, And be glad in her, all ye loving her, Rejoice ye with her for joy, All ye are mourning for her,

11 Acciocchè poppaite, e siate saziati della mammella della sue consolazioni; acciocchè mungiate, e godiate dello splendor della sua gloria.

So that ye suck, and have been satisfied, From the breast of her consolations, So that ye wring out, and have delighted yourselves From the abundance of her honour.

12 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Ecco, io rivolgo verso lei la pace, a guisa di fiume; e la gloria delle genti, a guisa di torrente traboccato; e voi [la] succerete, [e] sarete portati sopra i fianchi, e sarete sollazzati sopra le ginocchia.

For thus said Jehovah: 'Lo, I am stretching out to her peace as a river, And as an overflowing stream the honour of nations, And ye have sucked, on the side ye are carried, And on the knees ye are dandled.

13 Io vi consolerò, a guisa di un fanciullo che sua madre consola; e voi sarete consolati in Gerusalemme.

As one whom his mother comforteth, so do I comfort you, Yea, in Jerusalem ye are comforted.

14 E voi vedrete, e il vostro cuore si rallegrerà, e le vostre ossa germoglieranno come erba; e la mano del Signore verso i suoi servitori sarà conosciuta; ma egli si adirerà contro a' suoi nemici.

And ye have seen, and rejoiced hath your heart, And your bones as tender grass do flourish, And the hand of Jehovah hath been known unto His servants, And He hath been indignant with His enemies.

15 Perciocchè, ecco, il Signore verrà con fuoco, ed i suoi carri [verranno] a guisa di turbo; per rendere l'ira sua con indegnazione e la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.

For, lo, Jehovah in fire cometh, And as a hurricane His chariots, To refresh in fury His anger, And His rebuke in flames of fire.

16 Perciocchè il Signore farà giudicio con fuoco, e con la sua spada, sopra ogni carne; e gli uccisi dal Signore saranno in gran numero.

For by fire and by His sword, Doth Jehovah do judgment with all flesh. And many have been Jehovah's pierced ones.'

17 Quelli che si santificano, e si purificano ne' giardini, dietro ad Ahad, nel mezzo; che mangiano carne di porco, e cose abbominevoli, e topi, saran consumati tutti quanti, dice il Signore.

Those sanctifying and cleansing themselves at the gardens, After Ahad in the midst, Eating flesh of the sow, And of the abomination, and of the mouse, Together are consumed, An affirmation of Jehovah.

18 Ora, quant'è a me, [essendo tali] le loro opere, e i lor pensieri, [il tempo] viene che io raccoglierò tutte le genti, e lingue; ed esse verranno, e vedranno la mia gloria.

And I — their works and their thoughts, I come to gather all the nations and tongues, And they have come and seen My honour.

19 E metterò in coloro un segnale, e manderò quelli d'infra loro, che saranno scampati, alle genti, in Tarsis, in Pul, ed in Lud, dove tirano dell'arco; in Tubal, ed in Iavan, ed [al]le isole lontane, che non hanno udita la mia fama, e non hanno veduta la mia gloria; e quelli annunzieranno la mia gloria fra le genti.

And I have set among them a sign, And have sent out of them those escaping unto the nations, (Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawing bow, Tubal and Javan, the isles that are far off, ) Who have not heard My fame, nor seen Mine honour, And they have declared Mine honour among nations.

20 E addurranno tutti i vostri fratelli, d'infra tutte le genti, [per] offerta al Signore, sopra cavalli, in carri, in lettighe, sopra muli, e sopra dromedari, al monte della mia santità, in Gerusalemme, ha detto il Signore; siccome i figliuoli d'Israele portano l'offerta in un vaso netto alla Casa del Signore.

And they have brought all your brethren out of all the nations, A present to Jehovah, On horses, and on chariot, and on litters, And on mules, and on dromedaries, Unto My holy mountain Jerusalem, said Jehovah, As the sons of Israel bring the present in a clean vessel, Into the house of Jehovah.

21 Ed anche ne prenderò d'infra loro per sacerdoti, [e] Leviti, ha detto il Signore.

And also of them I take for priests, For Levites, said Jehovah.

22 Perciocchè, siccome i nuovi cieli a la nuova terra che io farò, saranno stabili nel mio cospetto, dice il Signore; così ancora sarà stabile la vostra progenie, ed il vostro nome.

For, as the new heavens and the new earth that I am making, Are standing before Me, An affirmation of Jehovah! So remain doth your seed and your name.

23 Ed avverrà, che da calendi a calendi, e da sabato a sabato, ogni carne verrà, per adorar nel mio cospetto, ha detto il Signore.

And it hath been from month to month, And from sabbath to sabbath, Come do all flesh to bow themselves before Me, Said Jehovah.

24 Ed usciranno, e vedranno i corpi morti degli uomini che saran proceduti dislealmente meco; perciocchè il verme loro non morrà, ed il fuoco loro non sarà spento; e saranno in abbominio ad ogni carne.

And they have gone forth, And looked on the carcases of the men Who are transgressing against me, For their worm dieth not, And their fire is not quenched, And they have been an abhorrence to all flesh!
