Genesi 49
1 POI Giacobbe chiamò i suoi figliuoli, e disse: Adunatevi, ed io vi dichiarerò chò che vi avverrà nel tempo a venire.
Then Iaakob called his sonnes, and sayde, Gather your selues together, that I may tell you what shall come to you in the last dayes.
2 Adunatevi e ascoltate, figliuoli di Giacobbe! Prestate udienza a Israele, vostro padre.
Gather your selues together, and heare, ye sonnes of Iaakob, and hearken vnto Israel your father.
3 RUBEN, tu [sei] il mio primogenito, La mia possa, e il principio delle mie forze, Eccellente in dignità, ed eccellente in forza.
Reuben mine eldest sonne, thou art my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellencie of dignitie, and the excellencie of power:
4 [Tutto ciò] è scolato come acqua; non aver la maggioranza! Perciocchè tu salisti in sul letto di tuo padre; Allora che tu contaminasti il mio letto, [tutto ciò] sparì.
Thou wast light as water: thou shalt not be excellent, because thou wentest vp to thy fathers bed: then diddest thou defile my bed, thy dignitie is gone.
5 SIMEONE e LEVI [son] fratelli; Le loro spade [sono] arme di violenza.
Simeon and Leui, brethren in euill, the instruments of crueltie are in their habitations.
6 Non entri l'anima mia nel lor consiglio segreto; Non uniscasi la gloria mia alla lor raunanza; Perciocchè nella loro ira hanno uccisi uomini, E hanno a lor voglia spianato il muro.
Into their secret let not my soule come: my glory, be not thou ioyned with their assembly: for in their wrath they slew a man, and in their selfe will they digged downe a wall.
7 Maledetta [sia] l'ira loro, perciocchè è [stata] violenta; E il furor loro, perciocchè è stato aspro; Io li dividerò per Giacobbe, E li spargerò per Israele.
Cursed be their wrath, for it was fierce, and their rage, for it was cruell: I will deuide them in Iaakob, and scatter them in Israel.
8 GIUDA, te celebreranno i tuoi fratelli; La tua mano [sarà] sopra il collo de' tuoi nemici; I figliuoli di tuo padre s'inchineranno a te;
Thou Iudah, thy brethre shall praise thee: thine hande shalbe in the necke of thine enemies: thy fathers sonnes shall bowe downe vnto thee.
9 Giuda [è] un leoncello; Figliuol mio, tu sei ritornato dalla preda; [Quando] egli si sarà chinato, e si sarà posto a giacere come un leone, Anzi come un gran leone, chi lo desterà?
Iudah, as a Lions whelpe shalt thou come vp from the spoyle, my sonne. He shall lye downe and couche as a Lion, and as a Lionesse: Who shall stirre him vp?
10 Lo Scettro non sarà rimosso da Giuda, Nè il Legislatore d'infra i piedi di esso, Finchè non sia venuto colui al quale quello appartiene; E inverso lui [sarà] l'ubbidienza de' popoli.
The scepter shall not depart from Iudah, nor a Lawegiuer from betweene his feete, vntill Shiloh come, and the people shall be gathered vnto him.
11 Egli lega il suo asinello alla vite, E al tralcio della vite nobile il figlio della sua asina; Egli lava il suo vestimento nel vino, E i suoi panni nel liquor delle uve.
He shall binde his Asse foale vnto ye vine, and his Asses colte vnto the best vine. hee shall wash his garment in wine, and his cloke in the blood of grapes.
12 Egli ha gli occhi rosseggianti per lo vino, E i denti bianchi per lo latte.
His eyes shalbe red with wine, and his teeth white with milke.
13 ZABULON abiterà nel porto de' mari Egli [sarà] al porto delle navi; E il suo confine [sarà] fino a Sidon.
Zebulun shall dwell by the sea side, and he shalbe an hauen for shippes: and his border shalbe vnto Zidon.
14 ISSACAR [è] un asino ossuto, Che giace fra due sbarre.
Issachar shalbe a strong asse, couching downe betweene two burdens:
15 E avendo egli veduto che il riposo [è] cosa buona, E che il paese [è] ameno, Chinerà la spalla per portar [la soma], E diverrà tributario.
And he shall see that rest is good, and that the land is pleasant, and he shall bow his shoulder to beare, and shalbe subiect vnto tribute.
16 DAN giudicherà il suo popolo, Come una delle tribù d'Israele.
Dan shall iudge his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan sarà una serpe in su la strada, Un colubro in sul sentiero, Il qual morde i pasturali del cavallo, Onde colui che lo cavalca cade indietro.
Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder by the path, byting the horse heeles, so that his rider shall fall backward.
18 O Signore, io ho aspettata la tua salute.
O Lord, I haue waited for thy saluation.
19 [Quant'è a] GAD, schiere lo scorreranno; Ma egli in iscambio scorrerà altri.
Gad, an hoste of men shall ouercome him, but he shall ouercome at the last.
20 Dal [paese di] ASER [procederà] la grascia della sua vittuaglia, Ed esso produrrà delizie reali.
Concerning Asher, his bread shalbe fat, and he shall giue pleasures for a king.
21 NEFTALI [è] una cerva sciolta; Egli proferisce belle parole.
Naphtali shalbe a hinde let goe, giuing goodly wordes.
22 GIUSEPPE [è] un ramo di una vite fruttifera, Un ramo di una vite fruttifera appresso ad una fonte, I cui rampolli si distendono lungo il muro.
Ioseph shalbe a fruitefull bough, euen a fruitful bough by the well side: the small boughs shall runne vpon the wall.
23 E benchè egli sia stato amaramente afflitto, E che degli arcieri l'abbiano saettato e nimicato;
And the archers grieued him, and shotte against him and hated him.
24 Pur è dimorato l'arco suo nella [sua] forza; E le sue braccia [e] le sue mani si son rinforzate, Per l'aiuto del Possente di Giacobbe: Quindi [egli è stato] il pastore, la pietra d'Israele,
But his bowe abode strong, and the hands of his armes were strengthened, by the handes of the mighty God of Iaakob, of whom was the feeder appointed, by the stone of Israel,
25 [Ciò è proceduto] dall'Iddio di tuo padre, il quale ancora ti aiuterà; E dall'Onnipotente, il quale ancora ti benedirà Delle benedizioni del cielo di sopra, Delle benedizioni dell'abisso che giace disotto, Delle benedizioni delle mammelle e della matrice.
Euen by the God of thy father, who shall helpe thee, and by the almightie, who shall blesse thee with heauenly blessinges from aboue, with blessings of the deepe, that lyeth beneath, with blessings of the brestes, and of the wombe.
26 Le benedizioni di tuo padre Hanno avanzate le benedizioni de' miei genitori, [E son giunte] fino al sommo de' colli eterni. Esse saranno sopra il capo di Giuseppe, E sopra la sommità del capo di lui, Ch'è stato messo da parte d'infra i suoi fratelli.
The blessings of thy father shalbe stronger then the blessings of mine elders: vnto the ende of the hilles of the worlde they shall be on the head of Ioseph, and on the top of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
27 BENIAMINO [è] un lupo rapace; La mattina egli divorerà la preda, E in su la sera partirà le spoglie.
Beniamin shall rauine as a wolfe: in the morning he shall deuoure the pray, and at night he shall deuide the spoyle.
28 Tutti costoro [sono i capi del]le dodici tribù d'Israele; e questo [è] quello che il padre loro disse loro, quando il benedisse, benedicendo ciascuno di essi secondo la sua propria benedizione.
All these are the twelue tribes of Israel, and thus their father spake vnto them, and blessed them: euery one of them blessed hee with a seuerall blessing.
29 Poi comandò, e disse loro: [Tosto] sarò raccolto al mio popolo; seppellitemi coi miei padri, nella spelonca ch'[è] nel campo di Efron Hitteo;
And he charged them and sayd vnto them, I am ready to be gathered vnto my people: burie mee with my fathers in the caue, that is in the fielde of Ephron the Hittite,
30 nella spelonca, ch'[è] nel campo di Macpela, il quale [è] dirincontro a Mamre, nel paese di Cannan; la quale [spelonca] Abrahamo comperò da Efron Hitteo, insieme col campo, per possession di sepoltura.
In the caue that is in the field of Machpelah besides Mamre in the land of Canaan: which caue Abraham bought with the fielde of Ephron the Hittite for a possession to burie in.
31 Quivi fu seppellito Abrahamo e Sara, sua moglie; quivi fu seppellito Isacco e Rebecca, sua moglie; quivi ancora ho seppellita Lea.
There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife: there they buryed Izhak and Rebekah his wife: and there I buried Leah.
32 L'acquisto di quel campo, e della spelonca ch'[è] in esso, fu fatto da' figliuoli di Het.
The purchase of the fielde and the caue that is therein, was bought of the children of Heth.
33 E, dopo che Giacobbe ebbe finito di dar questi comandamenti a' suoi figliuoli, ritrasse i piedi dentro al letto, e trapassò, e fu raccolto a' suoi popoli.
Thus Iaakob made an end of giuing charge to his sonnes, and plucked vp his feete into the bed and gaue vp the ghost, and was gathered to his people.
