Genesi 4
1 OR Adamo conobbe la sua moglie, ed ella concepette, e partorì Caino, e disse: Io ho acquistato un uomo col Signore.
And Adam lay wyth Heua ys wyfe which conceaved and bare Cain and sayd: I haue goten a ma of the LORde.
2 Poi partorì ancora Abele, fratello di esso. Ed Abele fu pastore di pecore, e Caino fu lavorator della terra.
And she proceded forth and bare hys brother Abell: And Abell became a sheperde And Cain became a ploweman.
3 Or avvenne, in capo di alquanto tempo, che Caino offerse al Signore offerta de' frutti della terra.
And it fortuned in processe of tyme that Cain brought of the frute of the erth: an offerynge vnto the LORde.
4 Ed Abele offerse anch'esso de' primogeniti delle sue pecore, e del grasso di esse. E il Signore riguardò ad Abele ed alla sua offerta.
And Abell he brought also of the fyrstlynges of hys shepe and of the fatt of them. And the LORde loked vnto Abell and to his offeynge:
5 Ma non riguardò a Caino, nè alla sua offerta; onde Caino si sdegnò grandemente, e il suo volto fu abbattuto.
but vnto Cain and vnto his offrynge looked he not. And Cain was wroth exceadingly and loured.
6 E il Signore disse a Caino: Perchè sei tu sdegnato? e perchè è il tuo volto abbattuto?
And the LORde sayd vnto Cain: why art thou angry and why loureste thou? Wotest thou not yf thou dost well thou shalt receave it?
7 Se tu fai bene, non vi [sarà egli] esaltazione? ma [altresì], se tu fai male, il peccato giace alla porta. Ora i desiderii di esso [dipendono] da te, e tu hai la signoria sopra lui.
But and yf thou dost evell by and by thy synne lyeth open in the dore. Not withstondyng let it be subdued vnto the ad see thou rule it.
8 E Caino disse ad Abele suo fratello: [Andiamo ai campi]. Ed avvenne che essendo essi ai campi, Caino si levò contro ad Abele suo fratello, e l'uccise.
And Cain talked wyth Abell his brother. And as soone as they were in the feldes Cain fell vppon Abell his brother and slewe hym
9 E il Signore disse a Caino: Ov'[è] Abele tuo fratello? Ed egli disse: Io non so; [sono] io guardiano del mio fratello?
And ye LORde sayd vnto Cain: where is Abell thy brother? And he sayd: I can not tell am I my brothers keper?
10 E il [Signore gli] disse: Che hai fatto? [ecco] la voce del sangue del tuo fratello grida a me dalla terra.
And he sayd: What hast thou done? the voyce of thy brothers bloud cryeth vnto me out of the erth.
11 Ora dunque tu [sei] maledetto, e [sarai cacciato] dalla terra, che ha aperta la sua bocca per ricevere il sangue del tuo fratello dalla tua mano.
And now cursed be thou as pertaynyng to the erth which opened hyr mouth to receaue thy brothers bloud of thyne hande.
12 Quando tu lavorerai la terra, ella non continuerà più di renderti la sua virtù; e tu sarai vagabondo ed errante sulla terra.
For when thou tyllest the grounde she shall heceforth not geve hyr power vnto the. A vagabunde and a rennagate shalt thou be vpon the erth.
13 E Caino disse al Signore: La mia iniquità [è] più grande che io non posso portare.
And Cain sayd vnto the LORde: my synne is greater then that it may be forgeven.
14 Ecco, tu mi hai oggi cacciato d'in su la faccia della terra, ed io sarò nascosto dal tuo cospetto, e sarò vagabondo ed errante sulla terra; ed avverrà che chiunque mi troverà mi ucciderà.
Beholde thou castest me out thys day from of the face of the erth and fro thy syghte must I hyde my selfe ad I must be wandrynge and a vagabunde vpon the erth: Morover whosoever fyndeth me wyll kyll me,
15 E il Signore gli disse: Perciò, chiunque ucciderà Caino sarà punito a sette doppi [più che Caino]. E il Signore pose un segnale in Caino, acciocchè alcuno, trovandolo, non lo uccidesse.
And the LORde sayd vnto hi Not so but whosoever sleyth Cain shalbe punyshed. vij. folde. And ye LORde put a marke vpo Cain that no ma yt founde hym shulde kyll hym.
16 E Caino si partì dal cospetto del Signore, e dimorò nel paese di Nod, dalla parte orientale di Eden.
And Cain went out fro the face of the LORde and dwelt in the lande Nod on the east syde of Eden.
17 E Caino conobbe la sua moglie, ed ella concepette, e partorì Enoch. Poi egli si mise ad edificare una città, e la nominò del nome del suo figliuolo Enoch.
And Cain laye wyth hys wyfe which conceaved and bare Henoch. And he was buyldinge a cyte and called the name of it after the name of hys sonne Henoch.
18 E ad Enoch nacque Irad; ed Irad generò Mehujael; e Mehujael generò Metusael; e Metusael generò Lamec.
And Henoch begat Irad. And Irad begat Mahuiael. And Mahuiael begat Mathusael. And Mathusael begat Lamech.
19 E Lamec si prese due mogli; il nome dell'una delle quai [era] Ada, e il nome dell'altra Silla.
And Lamech toke hym two wyves: the one was called Ada and the other Zilla.
20 E Ada partorì Iabal. Esso fu padre di coloro che dimorano in tende, e son mandriani.
And Ada bare Iabal of whome came they that dwell in tentes ad possesse catell.
21 E il nome del suo fratello fu Iubal. Esso fu padre di tutti coloro che maneggiano la cetera e l'organo.
And hys brothers name was Iubal: of hym came all that excercyse them selves on the harpe and on the organs
22 E Silla partorì anch'ella Tubal-cain, il quale ha ammaestrato ogni fabbro di rame e di ferro; e la sorella di Tubal-cain fu Naama.
And Zilla she also bare Tubalcain a worker in metall and a father of all that grave in brasse and yeron. And Tubalcains syster was called Naema.
23 E Lamec disse ad Ada e Silla sue mogli: Ascoltate la mia voce, mogli di Lamec; Porgete l'orecchio al mio parlare. Certo io ho ucciso un uomo, dando[gli] una ferita; Ed un giovane, dando[gli] una percossa.
Then sayd Lamech vnto hys wyves Ada ad Zilla: heare my voyce ye wyves of Lamech and herken vnto my wordes for I haue slayne a man and wounded my selfe and haue slayn a yongman and gotte my selfe strypes:
24 Se Caino è vendicato a sette doppi, Lamec [lo sarà] a settanta volte sette doppi.
For Cain shall be avenged sevenfolde: but Lamech seventie tymes sevenfolde.
25 E Adamo conobbe ancora la sua moglie; ed ella partorì un figliuolo, e gli pose nome Set; perciocchè, [disse ella], Iddio mi ha riposta un'altra progenie in luogo di Abele, che Caino ha ucciso.
Adam also laye with hys wyfe yet agayne and she bare a sonne ad called hys name Seth For god (sayd she) hath geven me a nother sonne For Abell whom Cain slewe.
26 Ed a Set ancora nacque un figliuolo; ed egli gli pose nome Enos. Allora si cominciò a nominare [una parte degli uomini] del Nome del Signore.
And Seth begat a sonne and called hys name Enos. And in that tyme began men to call on the name of the LORde.
