Genesi 35

1 E IDDIO disse a Giacobbe: Levati, vattene in Betel, e dimora quivi, e fa' un altare all'Iddio che ti apparve quando tu fuggivi per tema di Esaù, tuo fratello.

Then God sayde to Iaakob, Arise, goe vp to Beth-el and dwell there, and make there an altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, when thou fleddest from Esau thy brother.

2 E Giacobbe disse alla sua famiglia, ed a tutti coloro ch'[erano] con lui: Togliete via gl'iddii stranieri che [son] fra voi, e purificatevi, e cambiatevi i vestimenti.

Then saide Iaakob vnto his houshold and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and clense your selues, and change your garments:

3 E noi ci leveremo, ed andremo in Betel; ed io farò quivi un altare all'Iddio che mi ha risposto al giorno della mia angoscia, ed è stato meco per lo viaggio che io ho fatto.

For we will rise and goe vp to Beth-el, and I will make an altar there vnto God, which heard me in the day of my tribulation, and was with me in the way which I went.

4 Ed essi diedero a Giacobbe tutti gl'iddii degli stranieri, ch' [erano] nelle lor mani, e i monili che [aveano] agli orecchi; e Giacobbe il nascose sotto la quercia, ch'[è] vicina a Sichem.

And they gaue vnto Iaakob all the strange gods, which were in their hands, and all their earings which were in their eares, and Iaakob hidde them vnder an oke, which was by Shechem.

5 Poi si partirono. E il terror di Dio fu sopra le città ch' [erano] d'intorno a loro; laonde non perseguirono i figliuoli di Giacobbe.

Then they went on their iourney, and the feare of God was vpon the cities that were roud about them: so that they did not follow after the sonnes of Iaakob.

6 E Giacobbe, con tutta la gente ch'[era] con lui, giunse a Luz, ch'[è] nel paese di Canaan, la quale [è] Betel.

So came Iaakob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Beth-el) hee and all the people that was with him.

7 Ed edificò quivi un altare, e nominò quel luogo: L'Iddio di Betel; perciocchè quivi gli apparve Iddio, quando egli si fuggiva per tema del suo fratello.

And he built there an altar, and had called the place, The God of Beth-el, because that God appeared vnto him there, when he fled from his brother.

8 E Debora, balia di Rebecca, morì, e fu seppellita al disotto di Betel, sotto una quercia, la quale [Giacobbe] nominò: Quercia di pianto.

Then Deborah Rebekahs nourse dyed, and was buried beneath Beth-el vnder an oke: and he called the name of it Allon Bachuth.

9 E Iddio apparve ancora a Giacobbe, quando egli veniva di Paddan-aram, e lo benedisse.

Againe God appeared vnto Iaakob, after he came out of Padan Aram, and blessed him.

10 E Iddio gli disse: Il tuo nome [è] Giacobbe: tu non sarai più nominato Giacobbe, anzi il tuo nome [sarà] Israele; e gli pose nome Israele.

Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.

11 Oltre a ciò Iddio gli disse: Io [son] l'Iddio Onnipotente; cresci e moltiplica; una nazione, anzi una raunanza di nazioni, verrà da te, e re usciranno da' tuoi lombi.

Againe God said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. growe, and multiplie. a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring of thee, and Kings shall come out of thy loynes.

12 Ed io donerò a te, ed alla tua progenie dopo te, il paese che io diedi ad Abrahamo e ad Isacco.

Also I will giue the lande, which I gaue to Abraham and Izhak, vnto thee: and vnto thy seede after thee will I giue that land.

13 Poi Iddio risalì d'appresso a lui, nel luogo stesso dove egli avea parlato con lui.

So God ascended from him in the place where he had talked with him.

14 E Giacobbe rizzò un piliere di pietra nel luogo ove [Iddio] avea parlato con lui; e versò sopra esso una offerta da spandere, e vi sparse su dell'olio.

And Iaakob set vp a pillar in the place where he talked with him, a pillar of stone, and powred drinke offring thereon: also hee powred oyle thereon.

15 Giacobbe adunque pose nome Betel a quel luogo, dove Iddio avea parlato con lui.

And Iaakob called the name of the place, where God spake with him, Beth-el.

16 Poi [Giacobbe, co' suoi], partì di Betel; e, restandovi ancora alquanto spazio di paese per arrivare in Efrata, Rachele partorì, ed ebbe un duro parto.

Then they departed from Beth-el, and when there was about halfe a daies iourney of ground to come to Ephrath, Rahel trauailed, and in trauailing she was in perill.

17 E, mentre penava a partorire, la levatrice le disse: Non temere; perciocchè eccoti ancora un figliuolo.

And whe she was in paines of her labour, the midwife saide vnto her, Feare not: for thou shalt haue this sonne also.

18 E, come l'anima sua si partiva (perciocchè ella morì), ella pose nome a quel figliuolo: Ben-oni; ma suo padre lo nominò Beniamino.

Then as she was about to yeelde vp the Ghost (for she died) she called his name Ben-oni, but his father called him Beniamin.

19 E Rachele morì, e fu seppellita nella via d'Efrata, ch'[è] Bet-lehem.

Thus died Rahel, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.

20 E Giacobbe rizzò una pila sopra la sepoltura di essa. Quest' [è] la pila della sepoltura di Rachele, [che dura] infino al dì d'oggi.

And Iaakob set a pillar vpon her graue: This is the pillar of Rahels graue vnto this day.

21 E Israele si partì, e tese i suoi padiglioni di là da Migdal-eder.

Then Israel went forwarde, and pitched his tent beyond Migdal-eder.

22 Ed avvenne, mentre Israele abitava in quel paese, che Ruben andò, e si giacque con Bilha, concubina di suo padre; e Israele lo intese. Or i figliuoli di Giacobbe furono dodici.

Now, when Israel dwelt in that land, Reuben went, and lay with Bilhah his fathers concubine, and it came to Israels eare. And Iaakob had twelue sonnes.

23 I figliuoli di Lea [furono] Ruben, primogenito di Giacobbe, e Simeone e Levi, e Giuda, ed Issacar, e Zabulon.

The sonnes of Leah: Reuben Iaakobs eldest sonne, and Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.

24 E i figliuoli di Rachele [furono] Giuseppe e Beniamino.

The sonnes of Rahel: Ioseph and Beniamin.

25 E i figliuoli di Bilha, serva di Rachele, [furono] Dan e Neftali.

And the sonnes of Bilhah Rahels maide: Dan and Naphtali.

26 E i figliuoli di Zilpa, serva di Lea, [furono] Gad ed Aser. Questi [sono] i figliuoli di Giacobbe, i quali gli nacquero in Paddan-aram.

And the sonnes of Zilpah Leahs maide: Gad and Asher. These are the sonnes of Iaakob, which were borne him in Padan Aram.

27 E Giacobbe arrivò ad Isacco, suo padre, [in] Mamre, [nel]la città di Arba, ch'[è] Hebron, ove Abrahamo ed Isacco erano dimorati.

Then Iaakob came vnto Izhak his father to Mamre a citie of Arbah: this is Hebron, where Abraham and Izhak were strangers.

28 Or il tempo [della vita] d'Isacco fu di centottant'anni.

And the daies of Izhak were an hundreth and fourescore yeeres.

29 Poi Isacco trapassò, e morì, e fu raccolto a' suoi popoli, vecchio e sazio di giorni. Ed Esaù e Giacobbe, suoi figliuoli, lo seppellirono.

And Izhak gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people, being olde and full of daies: and his sonnes Esau and Iaakob buried him.
