Galati 3

1 O GALATI insensati! chi vi ha ammaliati per non ubbidire alla verità, [voi], a' quali Gesù Cristo è stato prima ritratto davanti agli occhi [come se fosse stato] crocifisso fra voi?

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the trueth, to whome Iesus Christ before was described in your sight, and among you crucified?

2 Questo solo desidero saper da voi: avete voi ricevuto lo Spirito per le opere della legge, o per la predicazion della fede?

This only would I learne of you, Receiued ye the Spirit by the workes of the Lawe, or by the hearing of faith preached?

3 Siete voi così insensati, che, avendo cominciato per lo Spirito, vogliate finire ora per la carne?

Are ye so foolish, that after ye haue begun in the Spirit, ye would now be made perfect by the flesh?

4 Avete voi sofferte cotante cose in vano? se pure ancora in vano.

Haue ye suffered so many things in vaine? if so be it be euen in vaine.

5 Colui adunque che vi dispensa lo Spirito, ed opera fra voi potenti operazioni, [lo fa egli] per le opere della legge, o per la predicazion della fede?

He therefore that ministreth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it through the workes of the Law, or by the hearing of faith preached?

6 Siccome Abrahamo credette a Dio, e [ciò] gli fu imputato a giustizia;

Yea rather as Abraham beleeued God, and it was imputed to him for righteousnes.

7 voi sapete pure, che coloro che [son] della fede son figliuoli di Abrahamo.

Knowe ye therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

8 E la scrittura, antivedendo che Iddio giustifica le nazioni per la fede, evangelizzò innanzi ad Abrahamo: Tutte le nazioni saranno benedette in te.

For the Scripture foreseeing, that God would iustifie the Gentiles through faith, preached before the Gospel vnto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.

9 Talchè coloro che [son] della fede son benedetti col fedele Abrahamo.

So then they which be of faith, are blessed with faithfull Abraham.

10 Poichè tutti coloro che son delle opere della legge, sono sotto maledizione; perciocchè egli è scritto: Maledetto chiunque non persevera in tutte le cose scritte nel libro della legge, per farle.

For as many as are of the workes of the Lawe, are vnder the curse: for it is written, Cursed is euery man that continueth not in all things, which are written in the booke of the Law, to doe them.

11 Ora, che per la legge niuno sia giustificato presso Iddio, è manifesto, perciocchè: Il giusto viverà di fede.

And that no man is iustified by the Law in the sight of God, it is euident: for the iust shall liue by faith.

12 Ma la legge non è di fede; anzi: L'uomo che avrà fatte queste cose viverà per esse.

And the Lawe is not of faith: but the man that shall doe those things, shall liue in them.

13 Cristo ci ha riscattati dalla maledizione della legge, essendo per noi fatto maledizione (perciocchè egli è scritto: Maledetto [è] chiunque è appiccato al legno);

Christ hath redeemed vs from the curse of the Lawe, made a curse for vs, (for it is written, Cursed is euery one that hangeth on tree)

14 acciocchè la benedizione di Abrahamo avvenga alle nazioni in Cristo Gesù; affinchè per la fede riceviamo la promessa dello Spirito.

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Iesus, that wee might receiue the promise of the Spirite through faith.

15 Fratelli, io parlo nella maniera degli nomini: se un patto è fermato, benchè sia un patto d'uomo, niuno l'annulla, o vi sopraggiunge [cosa alcuna].

Brethren, I speake as men do: though it be but a mans couenant, when it is confirmed, yet no man doeth abrogate it, or addeth any thing thereto.

16 Or le promesse furono fatte ad Abrahamo, ed alla sua progenie; non dice: Ed alle progenie, come [parlando] di molte; ma come d'una: Ed alla tua progenie, che è Cristo.

Nowe to Abraham and his seede were the promises made. Hee saith not, And to the seedes, as speaking of many: but, And to thy seede, as of one, which is Christ.

17 Or questo dico io: La legge, venuta quattrocentrent'anni appresso, non annulla il patto fermato prima da Dio in Cristo, per ridurre al niente la promessa.

And this I say, that the couenant that was confirmed afore of God in respect of Christ, the Lawe which was foure hundreth and thirtie yeeres after, can not disanull, that it shoulde make the promise of none effect.

18 Perciocchè, se l'eredità [è] per la legge, non [è] più per la promessa. Or Iddio donò [quella] ad Abrahamo per la promessa.

For if the inheritance be of the Lawe, it is no more by the promise, but God gaue it freely vnto Abraham by promise.

19 Perchè dunque [fu data] la legge? fu aggiunta per le trasgressioni, finchè fosse venuta la progenie, alla quale era stata fatta la promessa; essendo pubblicata dagli angeli, per mano d'un mediatore.

Wherefore then serueth the Law? It was added because of the transgressions, til the seed came, vnto the which the promise was made: and it was ordeined by Angels in the hande of a Mediatour.

20 Or il mediatore non è d'uno; ma Iddio è uno.

Nowe a Mediatour is not a Mediatour of one: but God is one.

21 La legge [è] ella dunque [stata data] contro alle promesse di Dio? [Così] non sia; perciocchè, se fosse stata data la legge, che potesse vivificare, veramente la giustizia sarebbe per la legge.

Is the Lawe then against the promises of God? God forbid: For if there had bene a Lawe giuen which coulde haue giuen life, surely righteousnes should haue bene by the Lawe.

22 Ma la scrittura ha rinchiuso ogni cosa sotto peccato, acciocchè la promessa fosse data a' credenti per la fede di Gesù Cristo.

But the Scripture hath concluded all vnder sinne, that the promise by the faith of Iesus Christ should be giuen to them that beleeue.

23 Ora, avanti che fosse venuta la fede, noi eravamo guardati sotto la legge, essendo rinchiusi, [aspettando] la fede che dovea essere rivelata.

But before faith came, we were kept vnder the Law, as vnder a garison, and shut vp vnto that faith, which should afterward be reueiled.

24 Talchè la legge è stata nostro pedagogo, [aspettando] Cristo, acciocchè fossimo giustificati per fede.

Wherefore the Lawe was our scholemaster to bring vs to Christ, that we might be made righteous by faith.

25 Ma, la fede essendo venuta, noi non siam più sotto pedagogo.

But after that faith is come, we are no longer vnder a scholemaster.

26 Perciocchè tutti siete figliuoli di Dio per la fede in Cristo Gesù.

For ye are al the sonnes of God by faith, in Christ Iesus.

27 Poichè voi tutti, che siete stati battezzati in Cristo, avete vestito Cristo.

For all ye that are baptized into Christ, haue put on Christ.

28 Non vi è nè Giudeo, nè Greco; non vi è nè servo, nè libero; non vi è nè maschio, nè femmina.

There is neither Iewe nor Grecian: there is neither bonde nor free: there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Iesus.

29 Perciocchè voi tutti siete uno in Cristo Gesù. Ora, se [siete] di Cristo, siete adunque progenie d'Abrahamo, ed eredi secondo la promessa.

And if ye be Christes, then are ye Abrahams seede, and heires by promise.
