Ezechiele 21

1 E la parola del Signore mi fu [indirizzata], dicendo:

And the word of the Lord was maad to me,

2 Figliuol d'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso Gerusalemme, e parla contro a' luoghi santi, e profetizza contro alla terra d'Israele; e di' alla terra d'Israele:

and he seide, Thou, sone of man, sette thi face to Jerusalem, and droppe thou to the seyntuaries, and profesie thou ayens the erthe of Israel.

3 Così ha detto il Signore: Eccomi contro a te; io trarrò la mia spada dal suo fodero, e distruggerò di te il giusto, e l'empio.

And thou schalt seie to the lond of Israel, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y to thee, and Y schal caste my swerd out of his schethe, and Y schal sle in thee a iust man and a wickid man.

4 Perciocchè io [ho determinato] di distruggere di te il giusto, e l'empio, perciò sarà tratta la mia spada fuor del suo fodero contro ad ogni carne, dal Mezzodì fino al Settentrione.

Forsothe for that that Y haue slayn in thee a iust man and a wickid man, therfor my swerd schal go out of his schethe to ech man, fro the south til to the north;

5 Ed ogni carne conoscerà che io, il Signore, avrò tratta la mia spada, fuor del suo fodero; ella non [vi] sarà più rimessa.

that ech man wite, that Y the Lord haue drawe out my swerd fro his schethe, that schal not be clepid ayen.

6 Oltre a ciò, tu, figliuol d'uomo, sospira; sospira con rottura di lombi, e con amaritudine, nel cospetto loro.

And thou, sone of man, weile in sorewe of leendis, and in bitternessis thou schalt weile bifore hem.

7 E quando ti diranno: Perchè sospiri? di': Per lo grido; perciocchè [la cosa] viene; ed ogni cuore si struggerà, e ogni mano diverrà rimessa, ed ogni spirito si verrà meno, e tutte le ginocchia si dissolveranno in acqua; ecco, [la cosa] viene, e sarà messa ad effetto, dice il Signore Iddio.

And whanne thei schulen seie to thee, Whi weilist thou? thou schalt seie, For hering, for it cometh; and ech herte shal faile, and alle hondis schulen be aclumsid, and ech spirit schal be sike, and watris schulen flete doun bi alle knees; lo! it cometh, and it shal be don, seith the Lord God.

8 Poi la parola del Signore mi fu [indirizzata], dicendo:

And the word of the Lord was maad to me,

9 Figliuol d'uomo, profetizza, e di': Così ha detto il Signore: Di': La spada, la spada è aguzzata, ed anche è forbita;

and he seide, Sone of man, profesie thou; and thou schalt seie, The Lord God seith these thingis, Speke thou, The swerd, the swerd is maad scharp, and is maad briyt;

10 è aguzzata, per fare una grande uccisione; è forbita, acciocchè folgori; ci portremmo noi rallegrare, o scettro del mio figliuolo, che sprezzi ogni legno?

it is maad scharp to sle sacrifices; it is maad briyt, that it schyne. Thou that mouest the ceptre of my sone, hast kit doun ech tree.

11 E il [Signore] l'ha data a forbire, per impugnarla; è una spada aguzzata, e forbita, per darla in mano d'un ucciditore.

And Y yaf it to be forbischid, that it be holdun with hond; this swerd is maad scharp, and this is maad briyt, that it be in the hond of the sleere.

12 Grida, ed urla, o figliuol d'uomo; perciocchè ella [è] contro il mio popolo; ella [è] contro a tutti i principi d'Israele; il mio popolo [non] è [altro] che uomini atterrati per la spada; perciò, percuotiti in su la coscia.

Sone of man, crie thou, and yelle, for this swerd is maad in my puple, this in alle the duykis of Israel; thei that fledden ben youun to swerd with my puple. Therfor smite thou on thin hipe, for it is preuyd;

13 Perciocchè una prova è stata fatta; e che dunque, se anche lo scettro sprezzante non sarà più? dice il Signore Iddio.

and this whanne it hath distried the ceptre, and it schal not be, seith the Lord God.

14 Tu adunque, figliuol d'uomo, profetizza, e battiti a palme; la spada sarà raddoppiata fino a tre volte; essa [è] la spada degli uccisi; la spada del grande ucciso che penetrerà fin dentro alle lor camerette.

Therfor, sone of man, profesie thou, and smyte thou hond to hond, and the swerd be doublid, and the swerd of sleeris be treblid; this is the swerd of greet sleyng, that schal make hem astonyed,

15 Io ho posto lo spavento della spada sopra tutte le lor porte, per far che [ogni] cuore si strugga, e per moltiplicar le ruine; ahi lasso me! ella è apparecchiata per folgorare; è aguzzata per ammazzare.

and to faile in herte, and multiplieth fallingis. In alle the yatis of hem Y yaf disturbling of a swerd, scharp and maad briyt to schyne, gird to sleynge.

16 [O spada], giugni a [man] destra, colpisci a sinistra, dovunque la tua faccia sarà dirizzata.

Be thou maad scharp, go thou to the riyt side, ether to the left side, whidur euer the desir of thi face is.

17 Io altresì mi batterò a palme, ed acqueterò la mia ira. Io, il Signore, ho parlato.

Certis and Y schal smyte with hond to hond, and Y schal fille myn indignacioun; Y the Lord spak.

18 La parola del Signore mi fu ancora [indirizzata], dicendo:

And the word of the Lord was maad to me,

19 Or tu, figliuol d'uomo, fatti due vie, dalle quali venga la spada del re di Babilonia; escano amendue d'una stessa terra; ed appiana un certo spazio; appiana[lo] in capo d'una strada di città.

and he seide, And thou, sone of man, sette to thee twei weies, that the swerd of the king of Babiloyne come; bothe schulen go out of o lond, and bi the hond he schal take coniecting; he schal coniecte in the heed of the weie of the citee,

20 Fa' una via, per la quale la spada venga contro a Rabba de' figliuoli di Ammon; ed [un'altra, per la quale venga] in Giuda contro a Gerusalemme, [città] forte.

settinge a weye, that the swerd come to Rabath of the sones of Amon, and to Juda in to Jerusalem moost strong.

21 Perciocchè il re di Babilonia si è fermato in una forca di strada, in un capo di due vie, per prendere augurio; egli ha sparse le saette, ha domandati gl'idoli, ha riguardato nel fegato.

For the king of Babiloyne stood in the meeting of twey weies, in the heed of twei weies, and souyte dyuynyng, and medlide arowis; he axide idols, and took councel at entrails.

22 L'augurio è stato, [ch'egli si volgesse] dalla man destra, [verso] Gerusalemme, per rizzar contro ad essa dei trabocchi, per aprir la bocca con uccisione, per alzar la voce con istormo, per rizzar trabocchi contro alle porte, per fare argini, per edificar bastie.

Dyuynyng was maad to his riyt side on Jerusalem, that he sette engyns, that he opene mouth in sleyng, that he reise vois in yelling, that he sette engyns ayens the yatis, that he bere togidere erthe, that he bilde strengthinges.

23 Ma ciò è parso un augurio vano a quelli che aveano loro fatti [molti] giuramenti; ma ora egli rammemorerà loro l'iniquità; acciocchè sieno presi.

And he shal be as counceling in veyn goddis answer bifor the iyen of hem, and seruynge the reste of sabatis; but he schal haue mynde on wickidnesse, to take.

24 Perciò, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Perciocchè voi riducete a memoria la vostra iniquità; palesandosi i vostri misfatti, e mostrandosi i vostri peccati in tutti i vostri fatti; perciocchè, [dico], voi [la] riducete a memoria, voi sarete presi a [forza di] mano.

Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that ye hadden mynde on youre wickidnesse, and schewiden youre trespassyngis, and youre synnes apperiden in alle youre thouytis, forsothe for that that ye hadden mynde, ye schulen be takun bi hond.

25 E tu, empio profano, principe d'Israele, il cui giorno è venuto, nel tempo del colmo dell'iniquità;

But thou, cursid wickid duyk of Israel, whos dai bifor determyned is comun in the tyme of wickidnesse,

26 così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Togli cotesta benda reale, e leva via cotesta corona; ella non [sarà più] dessa; io innalzerò colui che è basso, ed abbasserò colui che è innalzato.

the Lord God seith these thingis, Do awei the mitre, take awei the coroun; whether it is not this that reiside the meke man, and made low the hiy man?

27 Io la riverserò, la riverserò, la riverserò; ed ella non sarà più dessa, fin che venga colui a cui appartiene il giudicio; ed io gliela darò.

Wickidnesse, wickidnesse, wickidnesse Y schal putte it; and this schal not be doon til he come, whos the doom is, and Y schal bitake to hym.

28 E tu, figliuol d'uomo, profetizza, e di': Così ha detto il Signore Iddio, intorno a' figliuoli di Ammon, ed intorno al lor vituperio: Di' adunque: La spada, la spada è sguainata; ella è forbita per ammazzare, per consumare, per folgorare.

And thou, sone of man, profesie, and seie, The Lord God seith these thingis to the sones of Amon, and to the schenschipe of hem; and thou schalt seie, A! thou swerd, A! thou swerd, drawun out to sle, maad briyte, that thou sle and schyne,

29 Mentre ti si veggono [visioni di] vanità, mentre ti s'indovina menzogna, mettendoti sopra il collo degli empi uccisi, il cui giorno è venuto, nel tempo del colmo dell'iniquità;

whanne veyn thingis weren seien to thee, and leesingis weren dyuynyd, that thou schuldist be youun on the neckis of wickid men woundid, the dai of whiche bifore determyned schal come in the tyme of wickidnesse, turne thou ayen in to thi schethe,

30 rimetterebbesi [quella spada] nel suo fodero? Io ti giudicherò nel luogo stesso ove sei stata creata, nel tuo natio paese;

in to the place in which thou were maad. Y schal deme thee in the lond of thi birthe,

31 e spanderò sopra te il mio cruccio; io soffierò nel fuoco della mia indegnazione contro a te, e ti darò in man d'uomini insensati, artefici di distruzione.

and Y schal schede out myn indignacioun on thee; in the fier of my strong veniaunce Y schal blowe in thee, and Y schal yyue thee in to the hondis of vnwise men, and makinge deth.

32 Tu sarai per pastura del fuoco; il tuo sangue sarà in mezzo del paese; tu non sarai [più] ricordata; perciocchè io, il Signore, ho parlato.

Thou schalt be mete to fier, thi blood schal be in the middis of erthe; thou schalt be youun to foryetyng, for Y the Lord spak.
