Esodo 12
1 OR il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aaronne nel paese di Egitto, dicendo:
Yahweh said to Aaron and Moses/me there in Egypt,
2 Questo mese vi [sarà] il principio de' mesi; egli vi [sarà] il primo dei mesi dell'anno.
“[From now on], this month [will be] the first month of the year for you.
3 Parlate a tutta la raunanza d'Israele, dicendo; Nel decimo [giorno] di questo mese, ciascuna casa di padre di famiglia prenda un agnello o un capretto; uno per casa.
Tell all the Israeli people that in each family, the man who heads the family must select a lamb or a young goat for his household.
4 Ma se la famiglia è minore che non conviene [per mangiar] quell'agnello o capretto, prendalo [il padre della famiglia] in compagnia del suo vicino, il più prossimo di casa sua, con un certo numero di persone, [il quale] voi conterete, facendo ragione su l'agnello o il capretto, secondo che ciascuno può mangiare.
If there are not enough people in his family to eat a whole [cooked] lamb, then his family and the family that lives next door may share one animal. Decide how many lambs you need according to the number of people in each family, and according to how much each person can eat.
5 Prendete quell'agnello o quel capretto, senza difetto, maschio, di un anno, d'infra le pecore, o d'infra le capre.
The lambs or goats that you choose must be males, one-year-old, and they must not have any defects.
6 E tenetelo in guardia fino al quartodecimo giorno di questo mese; e allora tutta la raunanza della comunanza d'Israele lo scanni fra i due vespri.
You must take [special] care of these animals until the 14th day of the month. On that day, all the Israeli people must slaughter the lambs [or goats] in the evening.
7 E prendasene del sangue, e mettasene sopra i due stipiti, e sopra il limitar di sopra [della porta], nelle case nelle quali si mangerà.
Then they must take some of the blood [from the lambs or goats], and they must smear it on the doorposts and the (lintels/horizontal beams above the doorways) of the houses in which they will eat the meat.
8 E mangisene quella stessa notte la carne arrostita al fuoco, con [pani] azzimi, e lattughe salvatiche.
They must roast the animals immediately and eat the meat that night. They must eat it with bread that is baked without yeast and with bitter herbs.
9 Non mangiate [nulla] di esso crudo, o pur lesso nell'acqua; ma arrostito al fuoco, capo, gambe e interiora.
You must not eat any of the meat raw, and you must not boil the meat. You must roast it [whole], without cutting off the head or the legs or removing the internal parts.
10 E non ne lasciate nulla di resto fino alla mattina; e ciò che sarà restato fino alla mattina, bruciatelo col fuoco.
You must eat all the meat that evening; do not let any of the meat remain [to be eaten] the next morning. If any of the meat is left until the next morning, you must [completely] burn it.
11 Or mangiatelo in questa maniera: abbiate i lombi cinti, e i vostri calzamenti ne' piedi, e il vostro bastone in mano, e mangiatelo in fretta. Esso [è] il Passaggio del Signore.
When you eat it, you must be dressed ready to travel, and you must eat it quickly. You must have your sandals on your feet and your walking stick in your hands. It will be a festival [called] Passover to [honor] me, Yahweh.
12 E quella notte io passerò per lo paese di Egitto, e percuoterò ogni primogenito nel paese di Egitto, così d'uomini come di animali; e farò ancora giudicii sopra tutti gl'iddii di Egitto. Io [sono] il Signore.
On that night I will go through all the country of Egypt, and I will kill all the oldest males in Egypt, both humans and animals. [By doing this] I will show that all the gods in Egypt are worthless. [I can do this], because I am Yahweh, [the all-powerful God].
13 E quel sangue vi sarà per un segnale, nelle case nelle quali [sarete]; e quando io vedrò quel sangue, passerò oltre senza toccarvi; e non vi sarà fra voi alcuna piaga a distruzione, mentre io percuoterò il paese di Egitto.
The blood [that you smear on the doorways will be a mark to indicate] the houses in which you [Israelis] live. When I see the blood, I will [ignore and] pass by those houses, and I will not harm you [Israelis who live there], when I punish the Egyptians.
14 E quel giorno vi sarà per una ricordanza, e voi lo celebrerete per festa solenne, al Signore; voi lo celebrerete per festa solenne, [per] istatuto perpetuo, per le vostre età.
[Each year], you must celebrate this festival on this day, to remember [what I], Yahweh, [have done for you]. In all the generations to come, [each year] you must celebrate [this festival]. [It must continue] forever.
15 Voi mangerete per sette giorni [pani] azzimi; anzi fin dal primo giorno farete che non vi sia alcun lievito nelle vostre case; perciocchè, se alcuno mangia cosa alcuna lievitata dal primo giorno fino al settimo, quella persona sarà ricisa d'Israele.
For seven days you must eat bread that has no yeast in it. On the first day of that week you must get rid of all the yeast that is in your houses. During those seven days, if anyone eats bread that is baked with yeast in it, [you must consider] that person to be no longer an Israeli.
16 E nel primo giorno voi avrete santa raunanza; siavi parimente santa raunanza nel settimo giorno; non facciasi alcun'opera in que' giorni; solo vi si apparecchi quel che ciascuna persona deve mangiare e non altro.
On the first day [of that week], you must (have a holy meeting/gather together to [worship] me). You must do the same thing on the seventh day. People must not work on those two days. The only work they may do is to prepare food for you to eat.
17 Osservate adunque [l'osservanza de' pani] azzimi; perciocchè in quel giorno stesso io avrò tratte le vostre schiere fuor del paese di Egitto; perciò osservate quel giorno per le vostre età, [per] istatuto perpetuo.
[Every year] you must keep celebrating this festival of eating bread that has no yeast in it, because it will remind you that it was on this day that I brought all your tribal groups out of Egypt. So [every year], in all the generations to come, you must celebrate this day as a festival. It must continue forever.
18 Mangiate [pani] azzimi, dal quartodecimo [giorno] del primo mese al vespro, fino al ventunesimo giorno di esso mese al vespro.
In the first month of the year, on the 14th day of that month, the only bread you may eat is bread that has no yeast in it. You must keep doing that each day until the 21st day of that month. For those seven days you must not have any yeast in your house. [During that time], if anyone, either an Israeli or a foreigner, eats bread made with yeast, you must consider that person no longer to be an Israeli.
19 Non trovisi alcun lievito nelle vostre case per sette giorni; perciocchè, se alcuno mangia cosa alcuna lievitata, quella persona sarà ricisa dalla raunanza d'Israele; forestiere, o natio del paese, ch'egli si sia.
20 Non mangiate nulla di lievitato; mangiate [pani] azzimi in tutte le vostre stanze.
In your houses, do not eat anything that has yeast in it during those seven days.”
21 Mosè adunque chiamò tutti gli Anziani d'Israele, e disse loro: Traete fuori, e prendetevi un agnello, o un capretto, per [ciascuna del]le vostre famiglie, e scannate la Pasqua.
Then Moses/I summoned all the leaders of the Israeli people. He/I said to them, “Each family should select a lamb and kill it, [in order that you may eat it to celebrate the festival that will be called] ‘Passover’.
22 Pigliate eziandio un mazzuol d'isopo, e intignetelo nel sangue che [sarà] nel bacino; e spruzzate di quel sangue che [sarà] nel bacino il limitar disopra, e i due stipiti [delle porte]; e non esca alcun di voi fuor dell'uscio della sua casa fino alla mattina.
Let the lamb’s blood [drain into] a basin. Get a bunch/sprig of (hyssop/a very leafy plant) and dip it in the blood. Then smear some of the blood on the doorposts and the (lintels/beams above the doorways) [of your houses]. The people in each house must all stay inside the house until the next morning.
23 E [quando] il Signore passerà per percuoter gli Egizj, egli vedrà il sangue sopra il limitare, e sopra i due stipiti; e trapasserà oltre alla porta, e non permetterà al distruttore di entrar nelle vostre case per percuotere.
When Yahweh goes throughout Egypt to kill the [oldest male in each] Egyptian family, he will see the blood on the (lintels/beams of your doorways), and he will [ignore and] pass by those houses. He will not allow the angel who causes people to die to enter your houses and kill [any of] your [oldest sons].
24 Voi dunque osservate questa cosa, come uno statuto [imposto] a te e a' tuoi figliuoli, in perpetuo.
You and your descendants must celebrate this festival forever.
25 E quando voi sarete entrati nel paese che il Signore vi darà, come egli [ne] ha parlato, osservate questo servigio.
And when you arrive in the land that Yahweh will be giving to you as he promised, you must keep celebrating this ritual [every year].
26 E quando i vostri figliuoli vi diranno: Che [vuol dire] questo servigio [che] voi [fate]? dite:
When your children ask you, ‘What does this ritual mean?’,
27 Quest'[è] il sacrificio della Pasqua del Signore, il quale trapassò oltre alle case de' figliuoli d'Israele in Egitto, quando egli percosse gli Egizj, e salvò le nostre case.
you must tell them, ‘This ritual is [to remember how our ancestors] sacrificed [lambs] on the night that Yahweh’s angel passed by the houses of the Israeli people [when they were] in Egypt. He killed the [oldest males/sons in all] the Egyptian houses, but he spared [the sons in] [MTY] our houses.’” After Moses/I told them this, they all bowed their heads and worshiped [Yahweh].
28 E il popolo s'inchinò e adorò. E i figliuoli d'Israele andarono, e fecero interamente come il Signore avea comandato a Mosè e ad Aaronne.
Then the Israeli people did what Yahweh had told Aaron and Moses/me [to tell them to do].
29 E ALLA mezza notte il Signore percosse tutti i primogeniti nel paese di Egitto, dal primogenito di Faraone, che sedeva sopra il suo trono, fino al primogenito del prigione che [era] nella carcere; ed anche tutti i primogeniti degli animali.
At midnight Yahweh killed all the oldest sons of the Egyptian people, all over Egypt. That included the king’s oldest son, the oldest sons of the prisoners in the dungeon/jail, and [the oldest sons of everyone else]. He also killed the oldest males of all the Egyptians’ livestock.
30 E Faraone si levò di notte, egli, e tutti i suoi servitori, e tutti gli Egizj; e vi fu un gran grido in Egitto; perciocchè non [vi era] alcuna casa ove non [fosse] un morto.
That night the king, all his officials, and [all the rest of] the Egyptian people awoke [and discovered what had happened]. They wailed loudly all over Egypt, because in every house, someone’s son had died.
31 E [Faraone] chiamò Mosè ed Aaronne, di notte, e disse: Levatevi, partitevi di mezzo il mio popolo, voi, e i figliuoli d'Israele; e andate, servite al Signore, secondo che avete detto.
That night the king summoned Aaron and Moses/me and said, “You and all the [other] Israeli people, must leave my country [immediately]! Go and worship Yahweh, as you requested!
32 Pigliate le vostre gregge e i vostri armenti, come avete detto; e andatevene, ed anche beneditemi.
Take your flocks [of sheep and goats] and herds [of cattle], and leave! And ask Yahweh to bless me, also!”
33 E gli Egizj sollecitavano instantemente il popolo, affrettandosi di mandarlo via dal paese; perciocchè dicevano: Noi [siam] tutti morti.
Then the Israeli people did as Moses/I had told them. They [went to] their Egyptian [neighbors] and asked them for silver and gold jewelry and clothing.
34 E il popolo tolse la sua pasta, avanti che fosse lievitata, [avendo] le sue madie involte ne' suoi vestimenti, in su le spalle.
Yahweh caused the Egyptian people to greatly respect the [Israeli] people, so they gave them what they asked for. In that way, they carried away the wealth of the Egyptian people.
35 Or i figliuoli d'Israele aveano fatto secondo la parola di Mosè: e aveano chiesto agli Egizj vasellamenti di argento, e vasellamenti d'oro, e vestimenti.
The Egyptians urged the [Israeli] people to leave their country quickly. They said, “[If you do not do that], we will all die!”
36 E il Signore avea reso grazioso il popolo agli Egizj, onde essi [gli] aveano prestate [quelle cose]. Così, spogliarono gli Egizj.
So the [Israeli] people [prepared to leave at once]. They took the bowls in which they mixed the dough to make bread, and the dough that was in the bowls without any yeast in it, and they wrapped the bowls in their cloaks. They put the bowls on their shoulders [and left].
37 E i figliuoli d'Israele si partirono di Rameses, [e pervennero] a Succot, [essendo] intorno a seicentomila uomini a piè, oltre alle famiglie.
The Israeli people traveled from Rameses [city] to Succoth [town]. There were about 600,000 men who went, in addition to the women and children.
38 Una gran turba ancora [di gente] mescolata salì con loro; e grandissimo [numero di] bestiame, minuto e grosso.
Many other people who were not Israelis went along with them. There were also livestock, the flocks [of sheep and goats] and herds [of cattle].
39 Ed essi cossero la pasta che aveano portata fuor di Egitto, in focacce azzime; conciossiachè non fosse lievitata; perciocchè, essendo scacciati dagli Egizj, non si erano potuti indugiare, ed anche non si aveano apparecchiata alcuna vivanda.
On their way, they baked bread with the dough that they carried with them when they had been expelled from Egypt. The dough did not have yeast in it, because they were told to leave Egypt so quickly that they did not have enough time to get food ready to take with them, or enough time to mix yeast in the dough.
40 Or la dimora che i figliuoli d'Israele fecero in Egitto [fu] di quattrocentrent'anni.
The Israeli people had lived in Egypt 430 years.
41 E al termine di quattrocentrent'anni, lo stesso giorno [che quelli finivano], avvenne che tutte le schiere del Signore uscirono fuor del paese di Egitto.
On the day that those 430 years ended, on that very day, all the tribes of Yahweh’s people left Egypt.
42 Quest'[è] la notte dell'osservanze, [consecrata] al Signore, quando egli trasse fuor del paese di Egitto i figliuoli d'Israele; quest'[è] la notte consecrata al Signore, [che si deve celebrare con] ogni osservanza da tutti i figliuoli d'Israele, per le loro età.
It was a night when Yahweh (protected/guarded over) them as he brought them out of Egypt. So this same night every year is a night that is dedicated to Yahweh, a night when the Israeli people in every generation [remember how] Yahweh protected our ancestors.
43 E IL Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aaronne: Quest'[è] lo statuto della Pasqua. Niun forestiere ne mangi.
Then Yahweh said this to Aaron and Moses/me: “These are my instructions about the Passover ritual: Do not let foreigners eat [the Passover meal]. But any male slaves that you have bought may eat it after you have circumcised them.
44 Ma qualunque servo di chi che sia comperato con danari, dopo che tu l'avrai circonciso, ne mangerà.
45 L'avveniticcio e il mercenario non ne mangino.
Do not let people who are living among you temporarily, or servants whom you have hired, eat [the Passover meal].
46 Mangisi in una [stessa] casa; non portar fuor di casa della carne di essa, e non ne rompete alcun osso.
Each family must eat the Passover meal inside their own house. Do not take any of the food outside the house. And do not break any of the bones of the lamb that is sacrificed.
47 Facciala tutta la raunanza d'Israele.
All the Israeli people must celebrate this festival.
48 E quando un forestiere dimorerà teco, e vorrà far la Pasqua del Signore, circoncidasi prima ogni maschio di [casa] sua; e allora accostisi per farla, e sia come colui ch'è natio del paese; ma niuno incirconciso ne mangi.
When someone from another country comes to live with you and wants to celebrate the Passover Festival, circumcise all the males in his household. Then they may eat the Passover meal, and you should treat those people as though they were born as Israelis. But do not allow men who have not been circumcised to eat the Passover meal.
49 Siavi una [stessa] legge per colui ch'è natio del paese, e per lo forestiere che dimora per mezzo di voi.
These rules apply to people who were born as Israelis and to foreigners who come and live among you.”
50 E tutti i figliuoli d'Israele fecero interamente come il Signore avea comandato a Mosè e ad Aaronne.
All the Israeli people obeyed Aaron and Moses/me and did what Yahweh had commanded.
51 E in quello stesso giorno avvenne che il Signore trasse fuor del paese di Egitto i figliuoli d'Israele, per le loro schiere.
On that very day Yahweh brought all the tribes of the Israeli people out of Egypt.
