Esodo 11
1 E IL Signore disse a Mosè: Io farò venire ancora una piaga sopra Faraone, e sopra l'Egitto; e poi egli vi lascerà andar di qui; quando egli vi lascerà andare, egli del tutto vi scaccerà tutti quanti di qui.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt [Abode of slavery]; afterwards he will surely divorce you and let you go. When he casts you out, he will surely divorce you out altogether.
2 Parla ora al popolo, [e digli] che ciascuno uomo chiegga al suo amico, e ciascuna donna alla sua amica, vasellamenti di argento, e vasellamenti d'oro.
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man ask of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.”
3 E il Signore rendette grazioso il popolo agli Egizj; e anche quell'uomo Mosè era molto grande nel paese di Egitto, appo i servitori di Faraone, ed appo il popolo.
Adonai gave the people chen ·grace· in the sight of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]. Moreover the man Moses [Drawn out] was very great in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
4 E Mosè disse: Così ha detto il Signore: In su la mezza notte io uscirò fuori, [e passerò] per mezzo l'Egitto.
Moses [Drawn out] said, “This is what Adonai says: ‘About midnight I will go out into the middle of Egypt [Abode of slavery],
5 E ogni primogenito morrà nel paese di Egitto, dal primogenito di Faraone che siede sopra il suo trono, fino al primogenito della serva che [è] dietro alle macine; e anche ogni primogenito degli animali.
and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of livestock.
6 E vi sarà un gran grido per tutto il paese di Egitto, il cui pari non fu, nè sarà giammai più.
There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.
7 Ma appresso tutti i figliuoli d'Israele, così fra gli uomini, come fra gli animali, non pure un cane moverà la lingua; acciocchè voi sappiate che il Signore avrà messa separazione fra gli Egizj e gl'Israeliti.
But against any of the children of Israel [God prevails] a dog won’t even bark or move its tongue, against man or animal; that you may know that Adonai makes a distinction between the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] and Israel [God prevails].
8 Allora tutti questi tuoi servitori scenderanno a me, e s'inchineranno davanti a me, dicendo: Partiti, tu, e il popolo che [è] al tuo seguito; e, dopo quello, io me ne partirò. E Mosè se ne uscì d'appresso a Faraone, acceso d'ira.
All these servants of yours will come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, “Get out, with all the people who follow you;” and after that I will go out.’” He went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
9 Or il Signore aveva detto a Mosè: Faraone non vi porgerà orecchio; acciocchè io moltiplichi i miei prodigi nel paese di Egitto.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Pharaoh won’t sh'ma ·hear obey· you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].”
10 E Mosè ed Aaronne fecero tutti questi prodigi nel cospetto di Faraone, ma il Signore indurò il cuor di Faraone, ed egli non lasciò andare i figliuoli d'Israele fuori del suo paese.
Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Adonai hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel [God prevails] go out of his land.
