Efesini 6

1 Figliuoli, ubbidite nel Signore a' vostri padri e madri, perciocchè ciò è giusto.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

2 Onora tuo padre, e tua madre (che è il primo comandamento con promessa),

Honor thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise,

3 acciocchè ti sia bene, e tu sii di lunga vita sopra la terra.

so that it may become well with thee, and thou will be long lasting on the earth.

4 E [voi], padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli; ma allevateli in disciplina, ed ammonizion del Signore.

And ye fathers, do not exasperate your children, but rear them in the training and admonition of the Lord.

5 Servi, ubbidite a' [vostri] signori secondo la carne, con timore, e tremore, nella semplicità del cuor vostro, come a Cristo.

Bondmen, be obedient to the masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ.

6 Non servendo all'occhio, come per piacere agli uomini; ma, come servi di Cristo, facendo il voler di Dio d'animo;

Not according to eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul,

7 servendo con benivoglienza, come a Cristo, e non come agli uomini;

bond-serving with goodwill, as to the Lord and not to men.

8 sapendo che del bene che ciascuno, o servo o franco ch'egli sia, avrà fatto, egli ne riceverà la retribuzion dal Signore.

Knowing that whatever good thing each may do, he will receive this from the Lord, whether bondman or freeman.

9 E [voi], signori, fate par pari inverso loro, rallentando le minacce; sapendo che il Signore, e vostro, e loro, è ne' cieli; e che dinanzi a lui non v' [è] riguardo alla qualità delle persone.

And ye masters, do the same things to them, easing up the threats, knowing also that the master of you yourselves is in the heavens, and there is no partiality from him.

10 NEL rimanente, fratelli miei, fortificatevi nel Signore, e nella forza della sua possanza.

Finally my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

11 Vestite tutta l'armatura di Dio, per poter dimorar ritti, e fermi contro alle insidie del diavolo.

Put on the full armor of God to enable you to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 Poichè noi non abbiamo il combattimento contro a sangue e carne; ma contro a' principati, contro alle podestà, contro a' rettori del mondo, e delle tenebre di questo secolo, contro agli spiriti maligni, ne' [luoghi] celesti. (aiōn g165)

Because our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principal offices, against the positions of authority, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual things of wickedness in the heavenly things. (aiōn g165)

13 Perciò, prendete tutta l'armatura di Dio, acciocchè possiate contrastare nel giorno malvagio; e dopo aver compiuta ogni cosa, restar ritti in piè.

Because of this take ye up the full armor of God, so that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Presentatevi adunque al combattimento, cinti di verità intorno a' lombi, e vestiti dell'usbergo della giustizia;

Stand ye therefore having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15 ed avendo i piedi calzati della preparazione dell'evangelo della pace.

and having shod your feet in preparation of the good news of peace.

16 Sopra tutto, prendendo lo scudo della fede, col quale possiate spegnere tutti i dardi infocati del maligno.

Above all having taken up the shield of faith, by which ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of evil.

17 Pigliate ancora l'elmo della salute; e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

18 Orando in ogni tempo, con ogni maniera di preghiera, e supplicazione, in Ispirito; ed a questo stesso vegliando, con ogni perseveranza, ed orazione per tutti i santi.

praying through every prayer and entreaty at every time in spirit, and being alert in this same thing in all perseverance and entreaty for all the sanctified,

19 E per me ancora, acciocchè mi sia data parola con apertura di bocca, per far conoscere con libertà il misterio dell'evangelo.

and for me, so that utterance may be given to me in boldness in opening my mouth to make known the mystery of the good news,

20 Per lo quale io sono ambasciatore in catena; acciocchè io l'annunzii francamente, come mi convien parlare.

for which I am an ambassador in bondage, so that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21 OR acciocchè ancora voi sappiate lo stato mio, e ciò che io fo, Tichico, il caro fratello, e fedel ministro nel Signore, vi farà assapere il tutto.

But that ye also may know the things concerning me, what I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful helper in the Lord, will make known all things to you.

22 Il quale io ho mandato a voi a questo stesso fine, acciocchè voi sappiate lo stato nostro, e ch'egli consoli i cuori vostri.

Whom I sent to you for this same thing, so that ye might know the things about us, and that he might encourage your hearts.

23 Pace a' fratelli, e carità con fede, da Dio Padre, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.

Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 La grazia [sia] con tutti quelli che amano il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, in purità incorruttibile. Amen.

The grace is with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptibility. Truly.
