Deuteronomio 32
1 CIELI, porgete gli orecchi, ed io parlerò; Ed ascolti la terra le parole della mia bocca.
Hearken, ye heauens, and I will speake: and let the earth heare the words of my mouth.
2 La mia dottrina stillerà come pioggia, E il mio ragionamento colerà come rugiada; Come pioggia minuta in su l'erbetta, E come pioggia a grosse gocciole in su l'erbe;
My doctrine shall drop as the raine, and my speach shall stil as the dew, as the showre vpon the herbes, and as the great raine vpon the grasse.
3 Perciocchè io celebrerò il Nome del Signore. Magnificate l'Iddio nostro.
For I will publish the name of the Lord: giue ye glorie vnto our God.
4 L'opera della Rocca[è] compiuta; Conciossiachè tutte le sue vie [sieno] dirittura; Iddio [è] verità, senza alcuna iniquità; Egli [è] giusto e diritto.
Perfect is the worke of the mighty God: for all his wayes are iudgement. God is true, and without wickednesse: iust, and righteous is he.
5 Esso si è corrotto inverso lui; Il lor vizio non [è] di figliuoli suoi; [Egli] è una generazione perversa e storta.
They haue corrupted them selues towarde him by their vice, not being his children, but a frowarde and crooked generation.
6 Popolo stolto, e non savio, è questa la retribuzione che voi fate al Signore? Non [è] egli tuo padre, che t'ha acquistato? [Non è egli] quel che ti ha fatto, e ti ha stabilito?
Doe ye so rewarde the Lord, O foolish people and vnwise? is not he thy father, that hath bought thee? he hath made thee, and proportioned thee.
7 Ricordati de' giorni antichi; Considera gli anni dell'età addietro; Domandane tuo padre, ed egli te lo dichiarerà; I tuoi vecchi, ed essi te lo diranno.
Remember the dayes of olde: consider the yeeres of so many generations: aske thy father, and he will shewe thee: thine Elders, and they will tell thee.
8 Quando l'Altissimo spartiva l'eredità alle nazioni, Quando egli divideva i figliuoli di Adamo, Egli costituì i confini de' popoli, Secondo il numero de' figliuoli d'Israele.
When the most hie God deuided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sonnes of Adam, he appoynted the borders of the people, according to the nomber of the children of Israel.
9 Perciocchè la parte del Signore [è] il suo popolo; Giacobbe [è] la sorte della sua eredità.
For the Lordes portion is his people: Iaakob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 Egli lo trovò in una terra di deserto, E in un luogo desolato d'urli di solitudine; Egli l'ha menato attorno, egli l'ha ammaestrato, Egli l'ha conservato come la pupilla dell'occhio suo.
He found him in ye land of ye wildernes, in a waste, and roaring wildernes: he led him about, he taught him, and kept him as ye apple of his eye.
11 Come l'aquila fa muovere la sua nidata, Si dimena sopra i suoi figli, Spande le sue ale, li prende, [E] li porta sopra le sue penne;
As an eagle stereth vp her nest, flootereth ouer her birdes, stretcheth out her wings, taketh them, and beareth them on her wings,
12 Il Signore solo l'ha condotto, E con lui non [è stato] alcun dio strano.
So the Lord alone led him, and there was no strange god with him.
13 Egli l'ha fatto passare a cavallo sopra gli alti luoghi della terra, Onde egli ha mangiati i frutti de' campi; E gli ha ancora dato a suggere il miele dalla rupe, E l'olio dal macigno;
He caryed him vp to the hie places of the earth, that he might eate the fruites of the fieldes, and he caused him to sucke hony out of the stone, and oyle out of the hard rocke:
14 Il burro delle vacche, e il latte delle pecore, Col grasso degli agnelli, e de' montoni di Basan, e de' becchi; Insieme con la grascia del fior di frumento; E tu hai bevuto il vin puro, il sugo dell'uve.
Butter of kine, and milke of sheepe with fat of the lambes, and rammes fed in Bashan, and goates, with the fat of the graines of wheat, and the red licour of the grape hast thou drunke.
15 Ma Iesurun si è ingrassato, e ha ricalcitrato; Tu ti sei ingrassato, ingrossato, e coperto [di grasso]; Ed egli ha abbandonato Iddio che l'ha fatto, E ha villaneggiata la Rocca della sua salute.
But he that should haue bene vpright, when he waxed fat, spurned with his heele: thou art fat, thou art grosse, thou art laden with fatnes: therefore he forsooke God that made him, and regarded not the strong God of his saluation.
16 Essi l'hanno mosso a gelosia con [iddii] strani, E l'hanno irritato con abbominazioni.
They prouoked him with strange gods: they prouoked him to anger with abominations.
17 Hanno sacrificato a' demonii, [e] non [a] Dio; A dii, i quali essi non aveano conosciuti, [Dii] nuovi, venuti di prossimo, De' quali i vostri padri non aveano avuta paura.
They offred vnto deuils, not to God, but to gods whome they knew not: new gods that came newly vp, whome their fathers feared not.
18 Tu hai dimenticata la Rocca [che] t'ha generato, E hai posto in obblio Iddio che t'ha formato.
Thou hast forgotten the mightie God that begate thee, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
19 E il Signore l'ha veduto, ed è stato sdegnato, Per lo dispetto fattogli da suoi figliuoli e dalle sue figliuole.
The Lord then sawe it, and was angrie, for the prouocation of his sonnes and of his daughters.
20 E ha detto: Io nasconderò da loro la mia faccia, Io vedrò qual [sarà] il lor fine; Conciossiachè [sieno] una generazione perversissima, Figliuoli ne' quali non [v'è] alcuna lealtà.
And he said, I will hide my face from the: I will see what their ende shalbe: for they are a frowarde generation, children in who is no faith.
21 Essi m'hanno mosso a gelosia per [cose] che non [sono] Dio, E m'hanno provocato a sdegno per le lor vanità; Io altresì li muoverò a gelosia per [un popolo che] non [è] popolo, E li provocherò a sdegno per una gente stolta.
They haue moued me to ielousie with that which is not God: they haue prouoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will moue them to ielousie with those which are no people: I wil prouoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
22 Perciocchè un fuoco s'è acceso nella mia ira. Ed ha arso fino al luogo più basso sotterra, Ed ha consumata la terra e il suo frutto, Ed ha divampati i fondamenti delle montagne. (Sheol h7585)
For fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burne vnto the bottome of hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountaines. (Sheol h7585)
23 Io accumulerò sopra loro mali sopra mali, E impiegherò contro a loro tutte le mie saette.
I will spend plagues vpon them: I will bestowe mine arrowes vpon them.
24 [Saranno] arsi di fame, e divorati da carboncelli, E da pestilenza amarissima; E io manderò contro a loro i denti delle fiere, Insieme col veleno de' rettili della polvere.
They shalbe burnt with hunger, and consumed with heate, and with bitter destruction: I will also sende the teeth of beastes vpon them, with the venime of serpents creeping in the dust.
25 La spada dipopolerà di fuori E dentro delle camerette lo spavento; Giovani e fanciulle, Bambini di poppa e uomini canuti.
The sworde shall kill them without, and in the chambers feare: both the yong man and the yong woman, the suckeling with the man of gray heare.
26 Io avrei detto: Io li dispergerò per tutti i canti [del mondo], e farò venir meno la memoria di loro fra gli uomini;
I haue said, I would scatter them abroade: I would make their remembrance to cease from among men,
27 Se non ch'io temeva del dispetto del nemico; Che talora i loro avversari non insuperbissero; Che talora non dicessero: La nostra mano è stata alta, E il Signore non ha operato tutto questo.
Saue that I feared the furie of the enemie, least their aduersaries should waxe proude, and least they should say, Our hie hande and not the Lord hath done all this:
28 Conciossiachè essi [sieno] una gente perduta di consigli, E non [vi sia] alcun senno in loro.
For they are a nation voide of counsel, neither is there any vnderstanding in them.
29 Oh fossero pur savi, [e] intendessero queste cose, [E] considerassero il lor fine!
Oh that they were wise, then they would vnderstand this: they would consider their latter ende.
30 Come ne perseguirebbe uno mille, E ne metterebbero due in fuga diecimila, Se non fosse che la lor Rocca li ha venduti, E il Signore li ha messi nelle mani [de' lor nemici?]
How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousande to flight, except their strong God had sold the, and the Lord had shut them vp?
31 Conciossiachè la lor rocca non [sia] come la nostra Rocca, E i nostri nemici [ne sieno] giudici.
For their god is not as our God, euen our enemies being iudges.
32 Perciocchè la lor vigna [è stata tolta] dalla vigna di Sodoma, E da' campi di Gomorra; Le loro uve [sono] uve di tosco, Hanno i grappi amari.
For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the vines of Gomorah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters be bitter.
33 Il lor vino [è] veleno di dragoni, Crudel veleno d'aspidi.
Their wine is the poyson of dragons, and the cruel gall of aspes.
34 Questo non [è] egli riposto appo me, [E] suggellato ne' miei tesori?
Is not this laide in store with me, and sealed vp among my treasures?
35 A me appartiene [di far] la vendetta, e la retribuzione, Nel giorno che il piè loro vacillerà; Perciocchè il giorno della lor calamità è vicino, E le cose che son loro apparecchiate si affrettano.
Vengeance and recompence are mine: their foote shall slide in due time: for the day of their destruction is at hand, and the things that shall come vpon them, make haste.
36 Quando il Signore avrà fatto giudicio del suo popolo, Egli si pentirà per l'amor de'suoi servitori, Quando egli vedrà che [ogni] forza sarà venuta meno, E [che] non [vi sarà] nè serrato, nè lasciato.
For the Lord shall iudge his people, and repent towarde his seruants, when hee seeth that their power is gone, and none shut vp in holde nor left abroad.
37 E dirà: Ove [sono] i lor dii? La Rocca, nella quale si confidavano?
When men shall say, Where are their gods, their mighty God in whome they trusted,
38 Il grasso de' sacrificii de' quali essi mangiavano, E il vino delle cui offerte da spandere essi beveano; Levinsi eglino, e soccorranvi, E sienvi [per] ricetto.
Which did eate the fat of their sacrifices, and did drinke the wine of their drinke offring? let them rise vp, and help you: let him be your refuge.
39 Vedete ora, che io, io [son] desso, E [che] non [v'è] alcun Dio meco; Io fo morire, e rimetto in vita; Io ferisco, e guarisco; E non [v'è] niuno che possa liberar dalla mia mano.
Behold now, for I, I am he, and there is no gods with me: I kill, and giue life: I wound, and I make whole: neither is there any that can deliuer out of mine hand.
40 Perciocchè io levo la mano al cielo, E dico: [Come] io vivo in eterno;
For I lift vp mine hand to heauen, and say, I liue for euer.
41 Se io aguzzo la mia folgorante spada, E prendo in mano il giudicio, Io farò la vendetta sopra i miei nemici, E farò la retribuzione a quelli che m'odiano.
If I whet my glittering sworde, and mine hand take holde on iudgement, I will execute vengeance on mine enemies, and will rewarde them that hate me.
42 Io inebbrierò le mie saette di sangue, E la mia spada divorerà la carne; [Io le inebbrierò] del sangue degli uccisi e de' prigioni, [Cominciando] dal capo; [con] vendette da nemico.
I will make mine arrowes drunke with blood, (and my sword shall eate flesh) for the blood of the slaine, and of the captiues, when I beginne to take vengeance of the enemie.
43 Sclamate d'allegrezza, o nazioni, o suo popolo; Perciocchè egli farà la vendetta del sangue de' suoi servitori, E farà retribuzion di vendetta a' suoi avversari, E sarà propizio alla sua terra, al suo popolo.
Ye nations, praise his people: for he will auenge the blood of his seruants, and will execute vengeance vpon his aduersaries, and will bee mercifull vnto his lande, and to his people.
44 Mosè adunque, con Hosea, figliuolo di Nun, venne, e pronunziò tutte le parole di questo Cantico, agli orecchi del popolo.
Then Moses came and spake all ye words of this song in the audience of the people, he and Hoshea the sonne of Nun.
45 E, dopo che Mosè ebbe finito di pronunziar tutte queste parole a tutto Israele, egli disse loro:
When Moses had made an end of speaking all these wordes to all Israel,
46 Mettete il cuor vostro a tutte le parole, le quali oggi io vi protesto, acciocchè insegniate a' vostri figliuoli di prender guardia di mettere in opera tutte le parole di questa Legge.
Then hee said vnto them, Set your heartes vnto all the wordes which I testifie against you this day, that ye may commande them vnto your children, that they may obserue and doo all the wordes of this Lawe.
47 Conciossiachè non [sia] una parola vana, della quale non abbiate a curarvi; anzi è la vita vostra; e per essa prolungherete i [vostri] giorni sopra la terra, alla quale, passato il Giordano, andate per possederla.
For it is no vaine worde concerning you, but it is your life, and by this worde ye shall prolong your dayes in the land, whither yee go ouer Iorden to possesse it.
48 E in quell'istesso giorno il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses the selfe same day, saying,
49 Sali sopra questo monte di Abarim, al monte di Nebo, che [è] nel paese di Moab, dirincontro a Gerico, e riguarda il paese di Canaan, il quale io do a possedere a' figliuoli d'Israele;
Goe vp into the mountaine of Abarim, vnto the mount Nebo, which is in the lande of Moab, that is ouer against Iericho: and beholde the lande of Canaan, which I giue vnto the children of Israel for a possession,
50 e muori sopra il monte al qual tu sali, e sii raccolto a' tuoi popoli; come Aaronne, tuo fratello, è morto sul monte di Hor, ed è stato raccolto a' suoi popoli.
And die in the mount which thou goest vp vnto, and thou shalt be gathered vnto thy people, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered vnto his people,
51 (Perciocchè voi commetteste misfatto contro a me, nel mezzo de' figliuoli d'Israele, alle acque della contesa di Cades, nel deserto di Sin; perchè voi non mi santificaste nel mezzo de' figliuoli d'Israele).
Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel, at the waters of Meribah, at Kadesh in the wildernesse of Zin: for ye sanctified me not among the children of Israel.
52 Conciossiachè tu vedrai solamente davanti a te il paese; ma tu non entrerai nel paese ch'io do a' figliuoli d'Israele.
Thou shalt therefore see the lande before thee, but shalt not go thither, I meane, into the land which I giue the children of Israel.
