Atti 18

1 ORA, dopo queste cose, Paolo si partì d'Atene, e venne in Corinto.

AND when Paulos had gone forth from Athinos, he came unto Kurinthos.

2 E, trovato un certo Giudeo, [chiamato] per nome Aquila, di nazione Pontico, nuovamente venuto d'Italia, insieme con Priscilla, sua moglie (perciocchè Claudio avea comandato che tutti i Giudei si partissero di Roma), si accostò a loro.

And he found there a certain man, a Jihudoya, whose name was Akilos, who was from the country of Pontos, (and) who at that time had come from the country of Italia, himself and Priskila his wife, because Klaudios Cesar had commanded that all the Jihudoyee should go out from Ruma; and he drew near to them:

3 E perciocchè egli era della medesima arte, dimorava in casa loro, e lavorava; perciocchè l'arte loro era di far padiglioni.

(and) because he was a son of their art, he dwelt with them and wrought with them: but in their art they were tentmakers.

4 Ed ogni sabato faceva un sermone nella sinagoga, e induceva alla fede Giudei e Greci.

And he discoursed in the synagogue every shabath, and persuaded the Jihudoyee and the Heathens.

5 Ora, quando Sila e Timoteo furon venuti di Macedonia, Paolo era sospinto dallo Spirito, testificando a' Giudei che Gesù [è] il Cristo.

And when from Makedunia Shilo and Timotheos had come, Paulos was constrained in his speech, because the Jihudoyee arose against him and blasphemed, while he testified to them that Jeshu is the Meshiha.

6 Ma, contrastando eglino, e bestemmiando, egli scosse i [suoi] vestimenti, e disse loro: Il sangue vostro [sia] sopra il vostro capo, io [ne son] netto; da ora innanzi io andrò a' Gentili.

And he shook his garments and said to them, From now I am clean: I go unto the Gentiles.

7 E partitosi di là, entrò in casa d'un certo [chiamato] per nome Giusto, il qual serviva a Dio; la cui casa era contigua alla sinagoga.

And he went forth from thence, and entered into the house of a man named Titos, who worshipped Aloha; and his house adjoined the synagogue.

8 Or Crispo, capo della sinagoga, credette al Signore, con tutta la sua famiglia; molti ancora de' Corinti, udendo [Paolo], credevano, ed erano battezzati.

And Krispos, master of the synagogue, believed in our Lord, he and all the sons of his house. And many of the Kurinthoyee heard and believed in Aloha, and were baptized.

9 E il Signore disse di notte in visione a Paolo: Non temere; ma parla, e non tacere.

And the Lord said in a vision unto Paulos, Fear not, but speak and be not silent;

10 Perciocchè io son teco, e niuno metterà le mani sopra te, per offenderti; poichè io ho un gran popolo in questa città.

for I am with thee, and no man can do thee harm; and I have much people in this city.

11 Egli adunque dimorò [quivi] un anno, e sei mesi, insegnando fra loro la parola di Dio.

But he abode a year and six months in Kurinthos, and taught them the word of Aloha.

12 Poi, quando Gallione fu proconsolo d'Acaia, i Giudei di pari consentimento si levarono contro a Paolo, e lo menarono al tribunale, dicendo:

AND when Galion was proconsul of Akaia, they gathered together against Paulos, and brought him before the tribunal,

13 Costui persuade agli uomini di servire a Dio contro alla legge.

saying, This (man) part from the law persuadeth men to worship Aloha.

14 E come Paolo era per aprir la bocca, Gallione disse a' Giudei: Se si trattasse di alcuna ingiustizia o misfatto, o Giudei, io vi udirei pazientemente, secondo la ragione.

And when Paulos sought to open his mouth and speak, Galion said to the Jihudoyee, If it were concerning some thing of evil, or of wickedness, or of abomination, you would complain, O Jihudoyee, it would be proper for me to receive you;

15 Ma, se la quistione è intorno a parole, e a nomi, e alla vostra legge, provvedeteci voi; perciocchè io non voglio esser giudice di coteste cose.

but if they be questions concerning language and names, and concerning your law, let them be known among yourselves; for I am not willing to be a judge of these matters.

16 E li scacciò dal tribunale.

And he drove them from his tribunal.

17 E tutti i Greci presero Sostene, capo della sinagoga, e lo battevano davanti al tribunale; e Gallione niente si curava di queste cose.

And all the Heathens seized Sosthenis the presbyter of the synagogue, and beat him before the tribunal. And Galion was careless of these.

18 Ora, quando Paolo fu dimorato [quivi] ancora molti giorni, prese commiato dai fratelli, e navigò in Siria, con Priscilla, ed Aquila; essendosi fatto tondere il capo in Cencrea, perciocchè avea voto.

And when Paulos had been there many days, he gave the salutation to the brethren, and proceeded by sea to go to Syria: and Priskila and Akilos went with him, when he had shaved his head at Kankreos, because he had vowed a vow.

19 Ed essendo giunto in Efeso, li lasciò quivi. Or egli entrò nella sinagoga, e fece un sermone a' Giudei.

And they came to Ephesos. And Paulos entered the synagogue and discoursed with the Jihudoyee;

20 Ed essi lo pregavano di dimorare appresso di loro più lungo tempo; ma egli non acconsentì;

and they requested of him to tarry with them; and he was not willing;

21 anzi prese commiato da loro, dicendo: Del tutto mi conviene far la festa prossima in Gerusalemme; ma io ritornerò ancora a voi, se piace a Dio. Così si partì per mare da Efeso.

for he said, It behoveth me faithfully to perform the feast which cometh at Urishlem; and if Aloha willeth, I will come again to you. And Akilos and Priskila he left at Ephesos;

22 Ed essendo disceso in Cesarea, salì [in Gerusalemme]; poi, dopo aver salutata la chiesa, scese in Antiochia.

and he voyaged by sea and came to Cesarea: and he went up and wished the peace of the sons of the church, and went unto Antiokia.

23 Ed essendo [quivi] dimorato alquanto tempo, si partì, andando attorno di luogo in luogo per lo paese di Galazia, e di Frigia, confermando tutti i discepoli.

And when he had been there certain days, he went forth and itinerated successively through Phrygia and Galatia, confirming all the disciples.

24 OR un certo Giudeo, [il cui] nome [era] Apollo, di nazione Alessandrino, uomo eloquente, [e] potente nelle scritture, arrivò in Efeso.

And a certain man whose name was Apolu, a Jihudoya, who was by family of Aleksandria, and erudite in speech, and accurate in the scriptures, came to Ephesos.

25 Costui era ammaestrato ne' principii della via del Signore; e, fervente di spirito, parlava, ed insegnava diligentemente le cose del Signore, avendo sol conoscenza del battesimo di Giovanni.

This was discipled in the way of the Lord, and was fervid in spirit, and he spake and taught freely concerning Jeshu, while knowing not any thing but the baptism of Juhanon.

26 E prese a parlar francamente nella sinagoga. Ed Aquila, e Priscilla, uditolo, lo presero con loro, e gli esposero più appieno la via di Dio.

And he began boldly to speak in the synagogue. And when Akilos and Priskila heard him, they brought him to their house, and fully showed to him the way of the Lord.

27 Poi, volendo egli passare in Acaia, i fratelli [vel] confortarono, e scrissero ai discepoli che l'accogliessero. Ed egli, essendo giunto là, conferì molto a coloro che avean creduto per la grazia.

And when he willed to go to Akaia, the brethren were careful of him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him. And when he had gone he helped much, through grace, all the believers.

28 Perciocchè con grande sforzo convinceva pubblicamente i Giudei, dimostrando per le scritture che Gesù è il Cristo.

For he disputed forcibly against the Jihudoyee before the assemblies, while he showed from the scriptures concerning Jeshu, that he is the Meshiha.
