2 Samuele 22
1 E DAVIDE proferì al Signore le parole di questo cantico, al giorno che il Signore l'ebbe riscosso dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici, e dalla mano di Saulle;
And Dauid spake the woordes of this song vnto the Lord, what time the Lord had deliuered him out of the handes of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.
2 e disse: Il Signore [è] la mia rocca, e la mia fortezza, e il mio liberatore;
And he sayd, The Lord is my rocke and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth mee.
3 [Egli è] l'Iddio della mia rupe, io spererò in lui; [Egli è] il mio scudo, e il corno della mia salute; Il mio alto ricetto, il mio rifugio; Il mio Salvatore, che mi salva di violenza.
God is my strength, in him will I trust: my shielde, and the horne of my saluation, my hie tower and my refuge: my Sauiour, thou hast saued me from violence.
4 Io invocai il Signore, al quale appartiene ogni lode, E fui salvato da' miei nemici.
I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praysed: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.
5 Perciocchè onde di morte mi aveano intorniato, Torrenti di scellerati mi aveano spaventato.
For the pangs of death haue compassed me: the floods of vngodlinesse haue made mee afrayd.
The sorowes of the graue compassed mee about: the snares of death ouertooke mee. (Sheol h7585)
7 Mentre io era distretto, io invocai il Signore, E gridai all'Iddio mio; Ed egli udì la mia voce dal suo Tempio, E il mio grido pervenne a' suoi orecchi.
But in my tribulation did I call vpon the Lord, and crie to my God, and he did heare my voyce out of his temple, and my crie did enter into his eares.
8 Allora la terra fu smossa, e tremò; I fondamenti de' cieli furono crollati e scossi; Perciocchè egli era acceso nell'ira.
Then the earth trembled and quaked: the foundations of the heauens mooued and shooke, because he was angrie.
9 Fumo gli saliva per le nari, E fuoco consumante per la bocca; Da lui procedevano brace accese.
Smoke went out at his nostrels, and consuming fire out of his mouth: coles were kindled thereat.
10 Ed egli abbassò i cieli, e discese, Avendo una caligine sotto a' suoi piedi.
He bowed the heauens also, and came downe, and darkenes was vnder his feete.
11 E cavalcava sopra Cherubini, e volava, Ed appariva sopra le ale del vento.
And he rode vpon Cherub and did flie, and hee was seene vpon the winges of the winde.
12 Ed avea poste d'intorno a sè, [per] tabernacoli, tenebre, Viluppi d'acque, e nubi dell'aria,
And hee made darkenesse a Tabernacle round about him, euen the gatherings of waters, and the cloudes of the ayre.
13 Dallo splendore [che scoppiava] davanti a lui, Procedevano brace accese.
At the brightnesse of his presence the coles of fire were kindled.
14 Il Signore tonò dal cielo, E l'Altissimo mandò fuori la sua voce;
The Lord thundred from heauen, and the most hie gaue his voyce.
15 Ed avventò saette, e disperse coloro; Folgore, e li mise in rotta.
He shot arrowes also, and scattered them: to wit, lightning, and destroyed them.
16 E, per lo sgridare del Signore, E per lo soffiar dell'alito delle sue nari, I canali del mare furon veduti, I fondamenti del mondo furono scoperti.
The chanels also of the sea appeared, euen the foundations of the worlde were discouered by the rebuking of the Lord, and at the blast of the breath of his nostrels.
17 Egli da alto distese [la mano], Mi prese, mi trasse fuori di grandi acque.
He sent from aboue, and tooke me: hee drewe me out of many waters.
18 Egli mi riscosse dal mio potente nemico, Da quelli che mi odiavano; perciocchè erano più forti di me.
He deliuered me from my strong enemie, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
19 Essi mi erano venuti incontro al giorno della mia calamità; Ma il Signore fu il mio sostegno.
They preuented me in the day of my calamitie, but the Lord was my stay,
20 E mi trasse fuori in luogo largo; Egli mi liberò; perciocchè egli mi gradisce.
And brought me foorth into a large place: he deliuered me, because he fauoured me.
21 Il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia; Egli mi ha renduto secondo la purità delle mie mani.
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousnesse: according to the purenesse of mine handes he recompensed me.
22 Perciocchè io ho osservate le vie del Signore, E non mi sono empiamente rivolto dall'Iddio mio.
For I kept the wayes of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God.
23 Perciocchè [io ho tenute] davanti agli occhi tutte le sue leggi, E non mi son rivolto da' suoi statuti.
For all his lawes were before me, and his statutes: I did not depart therefrom.
24 E sono stato intiero inverso lui, E mi son guardato dalla mia iniquità.
I was vpright also towarde him, and haue kept me from my wickednesse.
25 E il Signore mi ha fatta la retribuzione secondo la mia giustizia, Secondo la purità che io ho guardata davanti agli occhi suoi.
Therefore the Lord did reward me according to my righteousnesse, according to my purenesse before his eyes.
26 Tu ti mostri pietoso inverso il pio, Intiero inverso l'uomo intiero.
With the godly thou wilt shewe thy selfe godly: with the vpright man thou wilt shew thy selfe vpright.
27 Puro inverso il puro, E ritroso inverso il perverso;
With the pure thou wilt shewe thy selfe pure, and with the frowarde thou wilt shew thy selfe frowarde.
28 E salvi la gente afflitta, E bassi gli occhi in su gli altieri.
Thus thou wilt saue the poore people: but thine eyes are vpon the hautie to humble them.
29 Perciocchè tu [sei] la mia lampana, o Signore; E il Signore allumina le mie tenebre.
Surely thou art my light, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkenes.
30 Perciocchè per te io rompo tutta una schiera; Per l'Iddio mio io salgo sopra il muro.
For by thee haue I broken through an hoste, and by my God haue I leaped ouer a wall.
31 La via di Dio [è] intiera; La parola del Signore [è] purgata col fuoco; Egli [è] scudo a tutti coloro che sperano in lui.
The way of God is vncorrupt: the word of the Lord is tryed in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
32 Perciocchè, chi [è] Dio, fuor che il Signore? E chi [è] Rocca, fuor che l'Iddio nostro?
For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie, saue our God?
33 Iddio [è] la mia forza; [e il mio] valore; Ed ha renduta spedita e appianata la mia via.
God is my strength in battel, and maketh my way vpright.
34 Egli rende i miei piedi simili a quelli delle cerve, E mi fa star ritto in su i miei alti luoghi.
He maketh my feete like hindes feete, and hath set me vpon mine hie places.
35 Egli ammaestra le mie mani alla battaglia, E con le mie braccia un arco di rame è spezzato.
He teacheth mine handes to fight, so that a bowe of brasse is broken with mine armes.
36 Tu mi hai ancora dato lo scudo della tua salvezza, E la tua benignità mi ha accresciuto.
Thou hast also giuen me the shield of thy saluation, and thy louing kindnesse hath caused me to increase.
37 Tu hai allargati i miei passi sotto me, E le mie calcagna non son vacillate.
Thou hast inlarged my steppes vnder me, and mine heeles haue not slid.
38 Io ho perseguiti i miei nemici, e li ho sterminati; E non me ne son tornato [indietro], finchè non li avessi distrutti.
I haue pursued mine enemies and destroyed them, and haue not turned againe vntill I had consumed them.
39 Io li ho distrutti, e li ho trafitti, e non son potuti risorgere; E mi son caduti sotto a' piedi.
Yea, I haue consumed them and thrust them through, and they shall not arise, but shall fall vnder my feete.
40 E tu mi hai cinto di prodezza per la guerra; Tu hai abbassati sotto me quelli che si levavano contro a me.
For thou hast girded me with power to battell, and them that arose against me, hast thou subdued vnder me.
41 Ed hai fatte voltar le spalle a' miei nemici, Ed a coloro che mi odiavano, davanti a me; Ed io li ho sterminati.
And thou hast giuen me the neckes of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
42 Essi riguardavano [in qua ed in là], ma non [vi fu] chi [li] salvasse; [Riguardarono] al Signore, ma egli non rispose loro.
They looked about, but there was none to saue them, euen vnto the Lord, but he answered them not.
43 Ed io li ho stritolati minuto come polvere della terra; Io li ho calpestati, schiacciati, come il fango delle strade.
Then did I beate them as small as the dust of the earth: I did treade them flat as the clay of the streete, and did spread them abroad.
44 Tu mi hai ancora scampato dalle brighe del mio popolo; Tu mi hai guardato per [esser] capo di genti; Il popolo [che] io non conosceva, mi è divenuto servo.
Thou hast also deliuered me from the contentions of my people: thou hast preserued me to be the head ouer nations: the people which I knewe not, doe serue me.
45 Gli stranieri si sono infinti inverso me; Al solo udire degli orecchi, si son renduti ubbidienti a me.
Strangers shalbe in subiection to me: assoone as they heare, they shall obey me.
46 Gli stranieri son divenuti fiacchi, Ed hanno tremato di paura fin dentro i lor ricetti chiusi.
Strangers shall shrinke away, and feare in their priuie chambers.
47 Viva il Signore, e benedetta [sia] la mia Rocca; E sia esaltato Iddio, [ch'è] la Rocca della mia salvezza.
Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength: and God, euen the force of my saluation be exalted.
48 Iddio [è quel] che mi dà [modo di far] le mie vendette, E che abbassa i popoli sotto me.
It is God that giueth me power to reuenge me, and subdue the people vnder me,
49 Ed [è] quel che mi trae fuori da' miei nemici; Tu mi levi ad alto d'infra coloro che mi assaltano, E mi riscuoti dagli uomini violenti.
And rescueth me from mine enemies: (thou also hast lift me vp from them that rose against me, thou hast deliuered me from the cruell man.
50 Perciò, o Signore, io ti celebrerò fra le nazioni, E salmeggerò al tuo Nome;
Therefore I will praise thee, O Lord amog the nations, and will sing vnto thy Name)
51 Il quale rende magnifiche le vittorie del suo re, Ed usa benignità inverso Davide, suo Unto, E inverso la sua progenie, in sempiterno.
He is the tower of saluation for his King, and sheweth mercie to his anointed, euen to Dauid, and to his seede for euer.
