2 Re 11

1 OR Atalia, madre di Achazia, veggendo che il suo figliuolo era morto, si levò, e distrusse tutta la progenie reale.

And Athaliah [the] mother of Ahaziah (she saw *QK) that he was dead son her and she arose and she destroyed all [the] offspring of royalty.

2 Ma Ioseba, figliuola del re Gioram, sorella di Achazia, prese Gioas, figliuolo di Achazia, e lo tolse furtivamente d'infra i figliuoli del re che si uccidevano, [e lo mise], con la sua balia, in una delle camere de' letti; e così fu nascosto d'innanzi ad Atalia, e non fu ucciso.

And she took Jehosheba [the] daughter of the king Joram [the] sister of Ahaziah Joash [the] son of Ahaziah and she stole him from among [the] sons of the king (who were about to be put to death *QK) him and nurse his in [the] chamber of the beds and they hid him from before Athaliah and not he was put to death.

3 E stette così nascosto con quella, lo spazio di sei anni, nella Casa del Signore; ed in quel mezzo tempo Atalia regnava sopra il paese.

And he was with her [the] house of Yahweh hiding himself six years and Athaliah [was] reigning over the land.

4 Ma l'anno settimo, Gioiada mandò a chiamare de' capi di centinaia per [esser] capitani e sergenti; e li fece venire a sè nella Casa del Signore, e fece lega con loro, e fece lor giurare nella Casa del Signore; poi mostrò loro il figliuolo del re.

And in the year seventh he sent Jehoiada and he took - [the] commanders of (the hundreds *Qk) of the Carian[s] and of the runners and he brought them to himself [the] house of Yahweh and he made to them a covenant and he made to swear an oath with them in [the] house of Yahweh and he showed them [the] son of the king.

5 E diede loro ordine, dicendo: Quest'[è] quello che voi farete: La terza parte di voi, [cioè] quelli ch'entrano in settimana, faccia ancora la guardia alla casa del re;

And he commanded them saying this [is] the thing which you will do! the third [part] of you [who] come the sabbath and [who] keep [the] watch of [the] house of the king.

6 e [faccia] un'[altra] terza parte [la guardia] alla porta di Sur; ed un'[altra] terza parte alla porta di dietro ai sergenti. Così, voi [i primi] farete la guardia al corpo del Tempio;

And the third [part] [will be] at [the] gate of Sur and the third [part] [will be] at the gate behind the runners and you will keep [the] watch of the house by turns.

7 e [le altre] due parti di voi, [cioè] tutti quelli che escono di settimana, faranno eziandio la guardia alla Casa del Signore per il re.

And [the] two the hands in you all [those who] go out the sabbath and they will keep [the] watch of [the] house of Yahweh to the king.

8 E voi circonderete il re d'ogn'intorno, avendo ciascuno le sue armi in mano; e chiunque entrerà dentro agli ordini, sia fatto morire. Siate eziandio col re, quando egli uscirà, e quando egli entrerà.

And you will surround the king all around everyone and weapons his in hand his and the [one who] comes into the ranks he will be put to death and be with the king when goes out he and when comes he.

9 E que' capi delle centinaia fecero interamente come il sacerdote Gioiada avea comandato; e ciascun di essi prese i suoi uomini, [cioè], quelli ch'entravano in settimana, e quelli che ne uscivano, e vennero al sacerdote Gioiada.

And they did [the] commanders of (the hundreds *Qk) according to all that he commanded Jehoiada the priest and they took each men his [those who] came the sabbath with [those who] went out the sabbath and they came to Jehoiada the priest.

10 E il sacerdote diede a que' capi delle centinaia le lance e gli scudi ch'[erano stati] del re Davide, [ed erano] nella Casa del Signore.

And he gave the priest to [the] commanders of (the hundreds *Qk) the spear and the shields which [had belonged] to the king David which [were] in [the] house of Yahweh.

11 Ed i sergenti stettero in piè, ciascuno con le sue armi in mano, dal lato destro della Casa fino al sinistro, presso dell'Altare, e della Casa, d'intorno al re.

And they stood the runners everyone - and weapons his in hand his from [the] side of the house south to [the] side of the house north to the altar and to the house at the king all around.

12 Allora [Gioiada] menò fuori il figliuolo del re, e pose sopra lui la benda reale, e gli ornamenti; ed essi lo fecero re, e l'unsero; e tutti, battendo palma a palma, dicevano: Viva il re.

And he brought out [the] son of the king and he put on him the crown and the testimony and they made king him and they anointed him and they struck a palm and they said may he live the king.

13 Or Atalia udì il romore de' sergenti [e] del popolo, e se ne venne al popolo, nella Casa del Signore.

And she heard Athaliah [the] sound of the runners the people and she went to the people [the] house of Yahweh.

14 E riguardò; ed ecco il re, che stava in piè sopra la pila, secondo il costume, e i capitani e i trombettieri [erano] presso del re, e tutto il popolo del paese [era] allegro, e sonava con le trombe. Allora Atalia si stracciò le vesti, e gridò: Congiura, congiura.

And she saw and there! the king [was] standing at the pillar according to the custom and the commanders and the trumpets [were] with the king and all [the] people of the land [was] joyful and [was] giving a blast on trumpets and she tore Athaliah clothes her and she called out treason treason.

15 E il sacerdote Gioiada comandò a que' capi delle centinaia, che aveano la condotta di quell'esercito, e disse loro: Menatela fuor degli ordini; e chiunque la seguiterà sia ucciso con la spada. Perciocchè il sacerdote avea detto: Non facciasi morire nella Casa del Signore.

And he commanded Jehoiada the priest [the] commanders of (the hundreds *Qk) [the] officers of the army and he said to them bring out her to from between to the ranks and the [one who] comes behind her put to death with the sword for he had said the priest may not she be put to death [the] house of Yahweh.

16 Essi adunque le fecero largo; e come ella se ne ritornava per la via dell'entrata dei cavalli verso la casa del re, fu quivi uccisa.

And they put to her hands and she went [the] way of [the] entrance of the horses [the] house of the king and she was put to death there.

17 E Gioiada trattò patto fra il Signore e il re, e il popolo, ch'essi sarebbero popolo del Signore; parimente fra il re e il popolo.

And he made Jehoiada the covenant between Yahweh and between the king and between the people to become a people of Yahweh and between the king and between the people.

18 E tutto il popolo del paese entrò nel tempio di Baal, e lo disfece, insieme con gli altari di esso, e spezzò interamente le sue immagini, ed uccise Mattan, sacerdote di Baal, davanti a quegli altari. Poi il sacerdote dispose gli uffici nella Casa del Signore.

And they went all [the] people of the land [the] house of Baal and they pulled down it (altars its *QK) and images its they broke thoroughly and Mattan [the] priest of Baal they killed before the altars and he appointed the priest overseers over [the] house of Yahweh.

19 E prese i capi delle centinaia, e i capitani, e i sergenti, e tutto il popolo del paese, e condussero il re a basso, fuor della Casa del Signore; e vennero nella casa del re, per la via della porta de' sergenti. E [il re] sedette sopra il trono reale.

And he took [the] commanders of the hundreds and the Carian[s] and the runners and - all [the] people of the land and they took down the king from [the] house of Yahweh and they came [the] way of [the] gate of the runners [the] house of the king and he sat on [the] throne of the kings.

20 E tutto il popolo del paese si rallegrò, e la città fu in quiete, dopo che Atalia fu stata uccisa con la spada, nella casa del re.

And it rejoiced all [the] people of the land and the city it was at peace and Athaliah they had put to death with the sword [the] house of (the king. *QK)

21 Gioas [era] d'età di sett'anni, quando cominciò a regnare.
