2 Cronache 34

1 GIOSIA [era] di età di otto anni, quando cominciò a regnare; e regnò trentun'anno in Gerusalemme.

[was] a son of Eight years Josiah when became king he and thirty and one year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem.

2 E fece ciò che piace al Signore, e camminò nelle vie di Davide, suo padre, e non [se ne] rivolse, nè a destra, nè a sinistra.

And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he walked in [the] ways of David ancestor his and not he turned aside right and left.

3 E l'anno ottavo del suo regno, [essendo] egli ancora giovanetto, cominciò a ricercar l'Iddio di Davide, suo padre; e l'anno duodecimo cominciò a nettar Giuda e Gerusalemme degli alti luoghi, e de' boschi, e delle sculture, e delle statue di getto.

And in eight years of reigning his and he still he [was] a youth he began to seek [the] God of David ancestor his and in two plus ten year he began to cleanse Judah and Jerusalem from the high places and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images.

4 E in presenza sua furono disfatti gli altari de' Baali; ed egli troncò i simulacri ch'[erano] al disopra di essi; e spezzò, e tritò i boschi e le sculture, e le statue di getto, e [ne] sparse [la polvere] sopra le sepolture di coloro che aveano loro sacrificato.

And people pulled down before him [the] altars of the Baals and the incense altars which [were] upwards above them he cut down and the Asherah poles and the idols and the molten images he broke in pieces and he pulverized [them] and he sprinkled [them] on [the] surface of the graves who sacrificed to them.

5 Ed arse le ossa de' sacerdoti sopra gli altari loro; e nettò Gerusalemme e Giuda.

And [the] bones of priests he burned on (altars their *QK) and he cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

6 [Egli fece lo stesso] ancora nelle città di Manasse, e di Efraim, e di Simeone, e fino in Neftali, ne' lor luoghi desolati d'ogn'intorno.

And in [the] cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon and to Naphtali (in [the] hill country of with swords their *QK) all around.

7 E disfece gli altari, e spezzò i boschi e le sculture, fino a stritolarle; e troncò tutti i simulacri in tutto il paese d'Israele; poi se ne ritornò in Gerusalemme.

And he pulled down the altars and the Asherah poles and the idols he crushed to pulverize and all the incense altars he cut down in all [the] land of Israel and he returned to Jerusalem.

8 E l'anno diciottesimo del suo regno, dopo aver nettato il paese e la Casa, mandò Safan, figliuolo di Asalia; e Maaseia, capitano della città; e Ioa, figliuolo di Ioachaz, segretario, per far ristorar la Casa del Signore Iddio suo.

And in year eight-teen of reigning his to cleanse the land and the house he sent Shaphan [the] son Azaliah and Maaseiah [the] official of the city and Joah [the] son of Joahaz the recorder to repair [the] house of Yahweh God his.

9 Essi adunque vennero ad Hilchia, sommo sacerdote, e furono [loro] dati i danari, che erano stati portati nella Casa di Dio; i quali i Leviti, guardiani delle soglie, aveano raccolti da Manasse, e da Efraim, e da tutto il rimanente d'Israele, e da tutto Giuda, e Beniamino; e poi erano ritornati in Gerusalemme.

And they went to Hilkiah - the priest great and they gave the money which had been brought [the] house of God which they had gathered the Levites [the] keepers of the threshold from [the] hand of Manasseh and Ephraim and from all [the] remnant of Israel and from all Judah and Benjamin (and they returned of *QK) Jerusalem.

10 Ed [essi li] diedero in mano a coloro che aveano la cura dell'opera, i quali erano costituiti sopra la [fabbrica della] Casa del Signore; e quelli che aveano la cura dell'opera che si faceva nella Casa del Signore davano que' [danari], per racconciare, e per ristorar la Casa.

And they gave [it] on [the] hand of [the] doer of the work who were appointed in [the] house of Yahweh and they gave it [the] doers of the work who [were] working in [the] house of Yahweh to mend and to repair the house.

11 E li davano a' fabbri, ed a' muratori; [e] per comperar pietre tagliate, e legname per le travature, e per fare i palchi alle case, le quali i re di Giuda aveano guaste.

And they gave [it] to the craftsmen and to the builders to buy stones of hewing and wood for the clamps and to make beams for the houses which they had ruined [the] kings of Judah.

12 Or quegli uomini si adoperavano fedelmente in quell'opera; e sopra essi [erano] costituiti Iahat, ed Abdia, Leviti, d'infra i figliuoli di Merari; e d'infra i Chehatiti: Zaccaria e Mesullam, per sollecitar [l'opera]. Tutti i maestri degli strumenti musicali [erano] eziandio Leviti;

And the men [were] working in faithfulness in the work and over them - [were] appointed Jahath and Obadiah the Levites of [the] descendants of Merari and Zechariah and Meshullam of [the] descendants of the Kohathites to act as overseers and the Levites every [one who] was skilled in instruments of song.

13 [come] ancora [quelli] che comandavano a quelli che portavano i pesi; ed essi aveano la cura di sollecitar tutti quelli che lavoravano all'opera in qualunque servigio; gli scrivani eziandio, ed i commessari, e i portinai, [erano] Leviti.

[were] over The burden-bearers and [were] acting as overseers of every doer of work for labor and labor and some of the Levites [were] scribes and officials and gatekeepers.

14 Ora, mentre traevano fuori i danari, ch'erano stati portati nella Casa del Signore, il sacerdote Hilchia trovò il libro della Legge del Signore, [data] per Mosè.

And when brought out they the money which had been brought [the] house of Yahweh he found Hilkiah the priest [the] scroll of [the] law of Yahweh by [the] hand of Moses.

15 Ed Hilchia parlò al segretario Safan, e gli disse: Io ho trovato il libro della Legge nella Casa del Signore. Ed Hilchia diede il libro a Safan.

And he answered Hilkiah and he said to Shaphan the scribe [the] scroll of the law I have found in [the] house of Yahweh and he gave Hilkiah the scroll to Shaphan.

16 E Safan portò quel libro al re. E, dopo che gli ebbe fatta la sua relazione, dicendo: I tuoi servitori fanno tutto quello ch'è loro stato commesso;

And he brought Shaphan the scroll to the king and he brought back again the king a word saying all that it was given in [the] hand of servants your they [are] doing.

17 ed hanno messi insieme i danari che si sono trovati nella Casa del Signore, e li hanno dati in mano a' commessari, ed a quelli che fanno l'opera;

And they have poured out the money which was found in [the] house of Yahweh and they have put it on [the] hand of those [who] were appointed and on [the] hand of [the] doers of the work.

18 il segretario Safan rapportò ancora, e disse al re, che il sacerdote Hilchia gli avea dato un libro. E Safan vi lesse dentro in presenza del re.

And he told Shaphan the scribe to the king saying a scroll he has given to me Hilkiah the priest and he read aloud in it Shaphan before the king.

19 E come il re ebbe udite le parole della Legge, stracciò i suoi vestimenti.

And it was when heard the king [the] words of the law and he tore clothes his.

20 Poi comandò ad Hilchia, e ad Ahicam, figliuolo di Safan, e ad Abdon, figliuolo di Mica, ed al segretario Safan, e ad Asaia, servitor del re, dicendo:

And he commanded the king Hilkiah and Ahikam [the] son of Shaphan and Abdon [the] son of Micah and - Shaphan the scribe and Asaiah [the] servant of the king saying.

21 Andate, domandate il Signore per me, e per lo rimanente d'Israele e di Giuda, intorno alle parole di questo libro ch'è stato ritrovato; perciocchè grande [è] l'ira del Signore, la quale è versata sopra noi; perciocchè i nostri padri non hanno osservata la parola del Signore, per far secondo tutto ciò ch'è scritto in questo libro.

Go consult Yahweh for me and for the remnant among Israel and among Judah on [the] words of the scroll which it has been found for [is] great [the] anger of Yahweh which it has been poured out on us on that not they took care ancestors our [the] word of Yahweh to observe according to every [thing] written on the scroll this.

22 Hilchia adunque, e gli uomini del re, andarono dalla profetessa Hulda, moglie di Sallum, figliuolo di Tochat, figliuolo di Hasra, guardiano delle vesti, la quale abitava in Gerusalemme, nel secondo [recinto]; e parlarono a lei in quella sentenza.

And he went Hilkiah and [those] whom the king to Huldah the prophetess [the] wife of - Shallum [the] son of (Tokhath *QK) [the] son of Hasrah [the] keeper of the garments and she [was] dwelling in Jerusalem in the second district and they spoke to her like this.

23 Ed ella disse loro: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio d'Israele: Dite all'uomo che vi ha mandati a me:

And she said to them thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel say to the man who he sent you to me.

24 Così ha detto il Signore: Ecco, io fo venir del male sopra questo luogo, e sopra i suoi abitatori; tutte le maledizioni che sono scritte nel libro, ch'è stato letto in presenza del re di Giuda.

Thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to bring harm on the place this and on inhabitants its all the curses which are written on the scroll which people have read aloud before [the] king of Judah.

25 Perciocchè essi mi hanno abbandonato, ed hanno fatti profumi ad altri dii, per dispettarmi con tutte le opere delle lor mani; laonde l'ira mia si è versata sopra questo luogo, e non si spegnerà.

Because - that they have forsaken me (and they have made smoke *Qk) to gods other so as to provoke to anger me by all [the] works of hands their so it may pour forth rage my on the place this and not it will be quenched.

26 Ma dite così al re di Giuda, che vi ha mandati per domandare il Signore: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio d'Israele: Quant'è alle parole che tu hai udite;

And to [the] king of Judah who sent you to consult Yahweh thus you will say to him. Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel the words which you have heard.

27 perciocchè il tuo cuore si è ammollito, e tu ti sei umiliato per timor di Dio, quando tu hai inteso ciò ch'egli ha pronunziato contro a questo luogo, e contro a' suoi abitatori; e ti sei umiliato nel mio cospetto, ed hai stracciati i tuoi vestimenti, ed hai pianto davanti a me; io altresì ti ho esaudito, dice il Signore.

Because it was soft heart your and you humbled yourself - from to before God when hearing you words his on the place this and on inhabitants its and you humbled yourself before me and you tore clothes your and you wept before me and also I I have heard [the] utterance of Yahweh.

28 Ecco, io ti raccoglierò coi tuoi padri, e sarai raccolto nelle tue sepolture in pace; e gli occhi tuoi non vedranno tutto il male che io fo venire sopra questo luogo, e sopra i suoi abitatori. Ed essi rapportarono la cosa al re.

Here I [will] gather you to ancestors your and you will be gathered to grave your in peace and not they will look eyes your on all the distress which I [am] about to bring on the place this and on inhabitants its and they brought back the king word.

29 Allora il re mandò a raunar tutti gli Anziani di Giuda e di Gerusalemme.

And he sent the king and he gathered all [the] elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

30 Poi salì nella Casa del Signore, con tutti gli uomini di Giuda, e con gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, insieme co' sacerdoti, e i Leviti, e con tutto il popolo, dal maggiore al minore. Ed egli lesse, in lor presenza, tutte le parole del libro del Patto, il quale era stato trovato nella Casa del Signore.

And he went up the king [the] house of Yahweh and every person of Judah and [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the Levites and all the people from great and unto small and he read aloud in ears their all [the] words of [the] scroll of the covenant which had been found [the] house of Yahweh.

31 E il re stette in piè nel luogo suo ordinario, e fece patto nel cospetto del Signore, [promettendo] di camminare dietro al Signore, e di osservare i suoi comandamenti, e le sue testimonianze, e i suoi statuti, con tutto il cuore, e con tutta l'anima sua; mettendo ad effetto le parole del Patto, scritte in quel libro.

And he stood the king at place his and he made the covenant before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep commandments his and testimonies his and statutes his with all heart his and with all being his to observe [the] words of the covenant which was written on the scroll this.

32 E fece promettere il medesimo a tutti quelli che furono ritrovati in Gerusalemme, ed in Beniamino; e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme fecero secondo il Patto di Dio, dell'Iddio dei padri loro.

And he made stand every [one who] was found in Jerusalem and Benjamin and they did [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem according to [the] covenant of God [the] God of ancestors their.

33 E Giosia tolse via tutte le abbominazioni da tutte le contrade de' figliuoli d'Israele, e sottopose tutti quelli che si ritrovarono in Israele a servire al Signore Iddio loro. Tutto il tempo della vita di Giosia, essi non si rivolsero indietro dal Signore Iddio de' lor padri.

And he removed Josiah all the abominations from all the lands which [belonged] to [the] people of Israel and he made to serve every [one who] was found in Israel to serve Yahweh God their all days his not they turned aside from after Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
