1 Giovanni 3
1 VEDETE qual carità ci ha data il Padre, che noi siam chiamati figliuoli di Dio; perciò non ci conosce il mondo, perciocchè non ha conosciuto lui.
Behold, what manner of love, the Father hath bestowed upon us—that, children of God, we should be called, —and such we are! Therefore, the world understandeth us not, because it understood not him.
2 Diletti, ora siamo figliuoli di Dio, ma non è ancora apparito ciò che saremo; ma sappiamo che quando sarà apparito, saremo simili a lui; perciocchè noi lo vedremo come egli è.
Beloved! now, are we, children of God; and, not yet, hath it been made manifest, what we shall be, —We know that, if it should be made manifest, like unto him, shall we be, because we shall see him, just as he is.
3 E chiunque ha questa speranza in lui si purifica, com'esso è puro.
And, whosoever hath this hope on him, is purifying himself, just as, He, is pure.
4 Chiunque fa il peccato fa ancora la trasgressione della legge; e il peccato è la trasgressione della legge.
Whosoever is committing sin, lawlessness also, is committing, and, sin, is, lawlessness;
5 E voi sapete ch'egli è apparito, acciocchè togliesse via i nostri peccati; e peccato alcuno non è in lui.
And ye know, that, He, was made manifest—in order that, our sins, he should take away, and, sin, in him, is there none.
6 Chiunque dimora in lui non pecca; chiunque pecca non l'ha veduto, e non l'ha conosciuto.
Whosoever, in him, doth abide, is not sinning: whosoever is sinning, hath not seen him, and doth not understand him.
7 Figlioletti, niuno vi seduca: chi opera la giustizia è giusto, siccome esso è giusto.
Dear children! Let, no one, lead you astray! He that is doing righteousness, is, righteous, just as, He, is righteous:
8 Chiunque fa il peccato, è dal Diavolo; poichè il Diavolo pecca dal principio; per questo è apparito il Figliuol di Dio, acciocchè disfaccia le opere del Diavolo.
He that is committing sin, is, of the adversary, because, from the beginning, the adversary is sinning. To this end, was the Son of God made manifest, in order that he might undo the works of the adversary.
9 Chiunque è nato da Dio, non fa peccato; perciocchè il seme d'esso dimora in lui; e non può peccare, perciocchè è nato da Dio.
Whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing, sin, because, a seed of him, within him, abideth; and he cannot be committing sin, because, of God, hath he been born.
10 Per questo son manifesti i figliuoli di Dio, e i figliuoli del Diavolo; chiunque non opera la giustizia, e chi non ama il suo fratello, non è da Dio.
Herein, are, manifest, the children of God, and the children of the adversary: Whoever is not doing righteousness, is not of God, nor yet he that is not loving his brother.
11 Perciocchè questo è l'annunzio, che voi avete udito dal principio: che noi amiamo gli uni gli altri.
Because, this, is the message which ye have heard from the beginning—that we should be loving one another, —
12 [E] non [facciamo] come Caino, [il quale] era dal maligno; ed uccise il suo fratello; e per qual cagione l'uccise egli? perciocchè le opere sue erano malvage, e quelle del suo fratello giuste.
Not just as, Cain, was, of the wicked one, and slew his brother! And, for what cause, slew he him? Because, his works, were, wicked, whereas, those of his brother, were, righteous.
13 Non vi maravigliate, fratelli miei, se il mondo vi odia.
Be not marveling, brethren, if, the world, is hating you:
14 Noi, perciocchè amiamo i fratelli, sappiamo che siamo stati trasportati dalla morte alla vita; chi non ama il fratello dimora nella morte.
We, know, that we have passed over out of death into life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth not, abideth in death.
15 Chiunque odia il suo fratello, è micidiale; e voi sapete che alcun micidiale non ha la vita eterna dimorante in sè. (aiōnios g166)
Whosoever is hating his brother, is, a murderer; and ye know that, no murderer, hath life age-during, within him abiding. (aiōnios g166)
16 In questo noi abbiam conosciuto l'amor di Dio; ch'esso ha posta l'anima sua per noi; ancora noi dobbiam porre le anime per i fratelli.
Hereby, have we come to understand love: in that, He, for us, his life laid down; and, we, ought, for the brethren, our lives to lay down.
17 Ora, se alcuno ha de' beni del mondo, e vede il suo fratello aver bisogno, e gli chiude le sue viscere, come dimora l'amor di Dio in lui?
But, whoso hath this world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother having, need, and shutteth up his tender affections from him, how, is, the love of God, abiding in him?
18 Figlioletti miei, non amiamo di parola, nè della lingua; ma d'opera, e in verità.
Dear children! Let us not be loving in word, nor yet with the tongue, but in deed and truth.
19 E in questo conosciamo che noi siam della verità, ed accerteremo i cuori nostri nel suo cospetto.
Hereby, shall we get to know, that, of the truth, we are, and, before him, shall persuade our heart;
20 Perciocchè, se il cuor nostro [ci] condanna, Iddio è pur maggiore del cuor nostro, e conosce ogni cosa.
Because, if our own heart condemn us, greater, is God, than our heart, and perceiveth all things.
21 Diletti, se il cuor nostro non ci condanna, noi abbiam confidanza dinanzi a Iddio.
Beloved! if our heart be not condemning us, boldness, have we, towards God;
22 E qualunque cosa chiediamo, [la] riceviamo da lui; perciocchè osserviamo i suoi comandamenti, e facciamo le cose che gli son grate.
And, whatsoever we are asking, we are receiving from him, because, his commandments, are we keeping, and, the things that are pleasing before him, are we doing.
23 E questo è il suo comandamento: che crediamo al nome del suo Figliuol Gesù Cristo, e ci amiamo gli uni gli altri, siccome egli [ne] ha dato il comandamento.
And, this, is his commandment, —that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and be loving one another—just as he gave a commandment unto us.
24 E chi osserva i suoi comandamenti dimora in lui, ed egli in esso; e per questo conosciamo ch'egli dimora in noi, [cioè: ] dallo Spirito che egli ci ha donato.
And, he that keepeth his commandments, in him, abideth, and, he, in him. And, hereby, perceive we, that he abideth in us, by reason of the Spirit which, unto us, he hath given.
