1 Giovanni 2
1 Figliuoletti miei, io vi scrivo queste cose, acciocchè non pecchiate; e se pure alcuno ha peccato, noi abbiamo un avvocato presso il Padre, [cioè] Gesù Cristo giusto;
My dear children, I am writing these things to you so that you not sin; if someone does sin, we have an Advocate in the Father's presence, righteous Jesus Christ—
2 ed esso è il purgamento dei peccati nostri; e non solo de' nostri, ma ancora di [quelli di] tutto il mondo.
also, He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; not concerning ours only but also concerning those of the whole world.
3 E PER questo conosciamo che noi l'abbiamo conosciuto, se osserviamo i suoi comandamenti.
Now by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 Chi dice: Io l'ho conosciuto, e non osserva i suoi comandamenti, è bugiardo, e la verità non è nel tale.
He who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet does not keep His commandments, is a liar and the Truth is not in him.
5 Ma chi osserva la sua parola, l'amor di Dio è veramente compiuto nel tale; per questo conosciamo che noi siamo in lui.
But whoever keeps His Word, God's love has truly been perfected in him: by this we know that we are in Him.
6 Chi dice di dimorare in lui, deve, come egli camminò, camminare egli ancora simigliantemente.
He who claims to be abiding in Him really needs to act just like He acted.
7 Fratelli, io non vi scrivo un nuovo comandamento; anzi il comandamento vecchio, il quale aveste dal principio; il comandamento vecchio è la parola che voi udiste dal principio.
Brothers, I am not writing a new commandment to you but an old one that you have had from the beginning; this old commandment is the word that you have heard from the beginning.
8 Ma pure ancora, io vi scrivo un comandamento nuovo; il che è vero in lui, ed in voi; perciocchè le tenebre passano, e già risplende la vera luce.
Again, I am writing a new commandment to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.
9 Chi dice d'esser nella luce, e odia il suo fratello, è ancora nelle tenebre.
He who claims to be in the Light while hating his brother is in the darkness until now.
10 Chi ama il suo fratello dimora nella luce, e non vi è intoppo in lui.
He who keeps on loving his brother is staying in the Light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
11 Ma chi odia il suo fratello è nelle tenebre, e cammina nelle tenebre, e non sa ove egli si vada; perciocchè le tenebre gli hanno accecati gli occhi.
But he who keeps on hating his brother is in the darkness and keeps walking in the darkness; he does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12 Figlioletti, io vi scrivo, perciocchè vi son rimessi i peccati per lo nome d'esso.
Dear children, I am writing to you because your sins have been forgiven for His name's sake
13 Padri, io vi scrivo, perciocchè avete conosciuto quello [che è] dal principio. Giovani, io vi scrivo, perciocchè avete vinto il maligno.
—fathers, I am writing to you because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning; young men, I am writing to you because you have overcome the evil one; children, I am writing to you because you have come to know the Father—
14 Fanciulli, io vi scrivo, perciocchè avete conosciuto il Padre. Padri, io vi ho scritto, perciocchè avete conosciuto quello [che è] dal principio. Giovani, io vi ho scritto, perciocchè siete forti, e la parola di Dio dimora in voi, ed avete vinto il maligno.
fathers, I have written to you because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning; young men, I have written to you because you are strong, and the Word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Non amate il mondo, nè le cose che [son] nel mondo; se alcuno ama il mondo, l'amor del Padre non è in lui.
Do not love the world, neither the things in the world; if anyone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him.
16 Perciocchè tutto quello che [è] nel mondo: la concupiscenza della carne, e la concupiscenza degli occhi, e la superbia della vita, non è dal Padre, ma è dal mondo.
Because everything in the world—the craving of the flesh and the craving of the eyes and the pretension of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
17 E il mondo, e la sua concupiscenza, passa via; ma chi fa la volontà di Dio dimora in eterno. (aiōn g165)
The world, with its craving, is passing away, but he who does God's will remains forever. (aiōn g165)
18 FANCIULLI, egli è l'ultimo tempo; e come avete inteso che l'anticristo verrà, fin da ora vi son molti anticristi; onde noi conosciamo ch'egli è l'ultimo tempo.
Children, it is the last hour, and just as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared, by which we know that it is the last hour.
19 Sono usciti d'infra noi, ma non eran de' nostri; perciocchè, se fossero stati de' nostri, sarebber rimasti con noi; ma [conveniva] che fosser manifestati; perciocchè non tutti sono de' nostri.
They went out from us but were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us—they left so that they might be exposed, that none of them were of us.
20 Ma, quant'è a voi, voi avete l'unzione dal Santo, e conoscete ogni cosa.
You have an Anointing from the Holy One and understand all.
21 Ciò ch'io vi ho scritto, non è perchè non sappiate la verità; anzi, perciocchè la sapete, e perciocchè niuna menzogna è dalla verità.
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the Truth.
22 Chi è il mendace, se non colui che nega che Gesù è il Cristo? esso è l'anticristo, il qual nega il Padre, e il Figliuolo.
Who is the liar but the one denying that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son.
23 Chiunque nega il Figliuolo, nè anche ha il Padre; chi confessa il Figliuolo, ha ancora il Padre.
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.
24 Quant'è a voi dunque, dimori in voi ciò che avete udito dal principio; se ciò che avete udito dal principio dimora in voi, ancora voi dimorerete nel Figliuolo, e nel Padre.
So you, let what you have heard from the beginning abide in you; if what you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Father and in the Son.
This is the promise that He Himself promised us—the eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 Io vi ho scritte queste cose intorno a coloro che vi seducono.
I have written these things to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you;
27 Ma, quant'è a voi, l'unzione che avete ricevuta da lui dimora in voi, e non avete bisogno che alcuno v'insegni; ma, come la stessa unzione v'insegna ogni cosa, ed essa è verace, e non è menzogna; dimorate in esso, come quella vi ha insegnato.
but really, you do not need anyone to teach you, because the Anointing that you received from Him abides in you; further, as the same Anointing teaches you concerning all things, and it is true and no lie—well just as He has taught you, you will abide in Him.
28 Ora dunque, figlioletti, dimorate in lui, acciocchè, quando egli sarà apparito, abbiam confidanza, e non siamo confusi per la sua presenza, nel suo avvenimento.
And now, dear children, do abide in Him, so that whenever He appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
29 Se voi sapete ch'egli è giusto, sappiate che chiunque opera la giustizia è nato da lui.
If you have understood that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been begotten by Him.
