1 Cronache 23
1 DAVIDE adunque, [essendo] vecchio, e sazio di giorni, costituì Salomone, suo figliuolo, re sopra Israele.
And when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2 E adunò tutti i capi d'Israele, e i sacerdoti, e i Leviti.
And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3 E i Leviti furono annoverati dall'età di trent'anni in su. E il numero di essi, annoverati gli uomini a testa a testa, fu di trentottomila.
And then were numbered the Levites from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, of men, was thirty and eight thousand.
4 D'infra essi ventiquattromila [doveano] vacare all'opera della Casa del Signore; e seimila doveano esser giudici ed ufficiali;
Of these were twenty and four thousand to superintend the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand were officers and judges;
5 e quattromila, portinai; ed [altri] quattromila [doveano] lodare il Signore con gli strumenti che io ho fatti, [disse Davide], per lodar[lo].
And four thousand were gatekeepers: and four thousand those who praised the Lord with the instruments which I have made, to praise therewith.
6 E Davide li distribuì in ispartimenti, secondo i figliuoli di Levi: Gherson, Chehat, e Merari.
And David divided them into divisions after the sons of Levi, after Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
7 De' Ghersoniti [furono] Ladan e Simi.
Of the Gershunites: La'dan, and Shim'i.
8 I figliuoli di Ladan [furono] tre: Iehiel il primo, poi Zetam, poi Ioel.
The sons of La'dan: The chief was Jechiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 I figliuoli di Simi [furono] tre: Selomit, ed Haziel, ed Haran. Questi [furono] i capi delle [famiglie] paterne de' Ladaniti.
The sons of Shim'i: Shelomith, and Chaziel, and Haran, three. These were the chiefs of the families of La'dan.
10 E i figliuoli di Simi [furono] Iahat, e Zina, e Ieus, e Beria. Questi [furono] i figliuoli di Simi, [in numero di] quattro.
And the sons of Shim'i were, Jachath, Zina, and Je'ush, and Beri'ah. These four were the sons of Shim'i.
11 E Iahat era il primo, e Zina il secondo; ma Ieus, e Beria, perchè non moltiplicarono in figliuoli, furono messi in una medesima descrizione, come una medesima casa paterna.
And Jachath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Je'ush and Beri'ah had not many sons: therefore were they accounted as one family division in the numbering.
12 I figliuoli di Chehat [furono] quattro: Amram, Ishar, Hebron, ed Uzziel.
The sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, Hebron, and 'Uzziel, four.
13 I figliuoli di Amram [furono] Aaronne e Mosè. Ed Aaronne fu messo da parte, insieme co' suoi figliuoli, in perpetuo, per santificar le cose santissime, per far profumi davanti al Signore, per ministrargli, e per benedire al nome di esso, in perpetuo.
The sons of 'Amram, Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was set apart, to sanctify him as most holy, he with his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
14 E quant'è a Mosè, uomo di Dio, i suoi figliuoli furono nominati della tribù di Levi.
But as regardeth Moses the man of God, his sons were named after the tribe of Levi.
15 I figliuoli di Mosè [furono] Ghersom ed Eliezer.
The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eli'ezer.
16 [De]'figliuoli di Ghersom, Sebuel [fu] il capo.
Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.
17 E [de]'figliuoli di Eliezer, Rehabia fu il capo; ed Eliezer non ebbe altri figliuoli; ma i figliuoli di Rehabia moltiplicarono sommamente.
And the sons of Eli'ezer were, Rechahyah the chief. And Eli'ezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rechahyah became exceedingly numerous.
18 [De]'figliuoli d'Ishar, Selomit [fu] il capo.
Of the sons of Yizhar, was Shelomith the chief.
19 I figliuoli di Hebron[furono] Ieria il primo, Amaria il secondo, Iahaziel il terzo, e Iecamam il quarto.
The sons of Hebron: Jeriyahu the chief, Amaryah the second, Jachaziel the third, and Jekam'am the fourth.
20 I figliuoli di Uzziel [furono] Mica il primo, ed Isia il secondo.
The sons of 'Uzziel: Michah the chief, and Yishiyah the second.
21 I figliuoli di Merari[furono] Mahali, e Musi. I figliuoli di Mahali [furono] Eleazaro, e Chis.
The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. The sons of Machli: El'azar, and Kish.
22 Ed Eleazaro morì, e non ebbe figliuoli, ma [sol] figliuole; ed i figliuoli di Chis, lor fratelli, le presero [per mogli].
And El'azar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and the sons of Kish, their brethren, took them [for wives].
23 I figliuoli di Musi [furono] tre, Mahali, ed Eder, e Ieremot.
The sons of Mushi: Machli, and 'Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24 Questi [furono] i figliuoli di Levi, secondo le lor famiglie paterne, capi di [esse] nelle lor descrizioni; essendo annoverati per nome, a testa a testa, quelli che facevano l'opera del servigio della Casa del Signore, dall'età di vent'anni in su.
These were the sons of Levi after their family divisions, even the chiefs of the families, as they were counted by numbering the names after their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
25 (Perciocchè Davide disse: Il Signore Iddio d'Israele ha dato riposo al suo popolo, ed ha presa la sua abitazione in Gerusalemme in perpetuo;
For David said, The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for evermore.
26 ed anche i Leviti non avranno [più] da portare il Tabernacolo, e tutti i suoi arredi per lo suo servigio.)
And also the Levites are no more bound to carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels for the service thereof.
27 Conciossiachè negli ultimi registri di Davide, le descrizioni de' figliuoli di Levi fossero fatte dall'età di vent'anni in su;
Therefore by the last words of David were there numbered of the Levites those who were from twenty years old and above;
28 perciocchè il loro ufficio [era di stare] appresso dei discendenti d'Aaronne, per lo servigio della Casa del Signore, ne' cortili, e nelle camere; e nel tener nette tutte le cose sacre, e per [ogni altra] opera del servigio della Casa di Dio;
Because their station was to be at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts, and in the chambers, and by the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
29 e per li pani, che doveano esser posti per ordine, e per lo fior della farina per le offerte, e per le schiacciate azzime, e per le cose [che doveano cuocersi] nella padella, ed in su la tegghia; e per ogni [sorte di] misure;
And for the shew-bread, which was put in rows, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is sodden, and for all manner of dry and wet measure;
30 e per presentarsi ogni mattina, per celebrare, e lodare il Signore; e così ogni sera;
And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and so also at evening,
31 ed ogni volta che si aveano da offerire olocausti al Signore, ne' sabati, nelle calendi, nelle feste solenni; in [certo] numero, secondo ch'era ordinato del continuo, davanti al Signore;
And at all the offering of burnt-offerings unto the Lord on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts, according to the number, and after the manner prescribed for them, continually before the Lord;
32 e per osservar ciò che si dovea fare nel Tabernacolo della convenenza, e nel santuario, e per lo servigio de' figliuoli di Aaronne, lor fratelli, per lo ministerio della Casa del Signore.
And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the Lord.
