Salmi 63
1 Salmo. Di Davide, quando dimorava nel deserto di Giuda. O Dio, tu sei il mio Dio, all'aurora ti cerco, di te ha sete l'anima mia, a te anela la mia carne, come terra deserta, arida, senz'acqua.
A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. God, you are my God! I earnestly search for you, my soul thirsts for you, and my flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 Così nel santuario ti ho cercato, per contemplare la tua potenza e la tua gloria.
So I have looked on you in the sanctuary, to see your power and your glory.
3 Poiché la tua grazia vale più della vita, le mie labbra diranno la tua lode.
Because your covenant faithfulness is better than life, my lips will praise you.
4 Così ti benedirò finché io viva, nel tuo nome alzerò le mie mani.
So I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in your name.
5 Mi sazierò come a lauto convito, e con voci di gioia ti loderà la mia bocca.
It will be as if I ate a meal of marrow and fatness; with joyful lips my mouth will praise you,
6 Quando nel mio giaciglio di te mi ricordo e penso a te nelle veglie notturne,
when I think about you on my bed and meditate on you in the night hours.
7 a te che sei stato il mio aiuto, esulto di gioia all'ombra delle tue ali.
For you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
8 A te si stringe l'anima mia e la forza della tua destra mi sostiene.
I cling to you; your right hand supports me.
9 Ma quelli che attentano alla mia vita scenderanno nel profondo della terra,
But those who seek to destroy my life will go down into the lowest parts of the earth;
10 saranno dati in potere alla spada, diverranno preda di sciacalli.
they will be given over to those whose hands use the sword, and they will become food for the jackals.
11 Il re gioirà in Dio, si glorierà chi giura per lui, perché ai mentitori verrà chiusa la bocca.
But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who swears by him will be proud of him, but the mouth of those who speak lies will be stopped up.
