Neemia 7
1 Quando le mura furono riedificate e io ebbi messo a posto le porte e i portinai, i cantori e i leviti furono stabiliti nei loro uffici,
Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
2 diedi il governo di Gerusalemme a Canàni mio fratello e ad Anania comandante della cittadella, perché era un uomo fedele e temeva Dio più di tanti altri.
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he [was] a faithful man, and feared God above many.
3 Ordinai loro: «Le porte di Gerusalemme non si aprano finché il sole non comincia a scaldare e si chiudano e si sbarrino le porte mentre i cittadini sono ancora in piedi; si stabiliscano delle guardie prese fra gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, ognuno al suo turno e ognuno davanti alla propria casa».
And I said to them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun shall be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar [them]: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one [to be] over against his house.
4 La città era spaziosa e grande; ma dentro vi era poca gente e non si costruivano case.
Now the city [was] large and great: but the people in it [were] few, and the houses [were] not built.
5 Il mio Dio mi ispirò di radunare i notabili, i magistrati e il popolo, per farne il censimento. Trovai il registro genealogico di quelli che erano tornati dall'esilio la prima volta e vi trovai scritto quanto segue:
And my God put into my heart to assemble the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them who came up at the first, and found written in it,
6 Questi sono gli abitanti della provincia che sono tornati dall'esilio: quelli che Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia aveva deportati e che erano tornati in Gerusalemme e in Giudea, ognuno nella sua città.
These [are] the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city;
7 Essi erano tornati con Zorobabele, Giosuè, Neemia, Azaria, Raamia, Nahamani, Mardocheo, Bilsan, Mispèret, Bigvai, Necum e Baana. Computo degli uomini del popolo d'Israele:
Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, [I say], of the men of the people of Israel [was this];
8 Figli di Pareos: duemila centosettantadue.
The children of Parosh, two thousand a hundred and seventy two.
9 Figli di Sefatia: trecentosettantadue.
The children of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventy two.
10 Figli di Arach: seicentocinquantadue.
The children of Arah, six hundred and fifty two.
11 Figli di Paat-Moab, cioè i figli di Giosuè e di Ioab: duemila ottocentodiciotto.
The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred [and] eighteen.
12 Figli di Elam: milleduecento cinquantaquattro.
The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred and fifty four.
13 Figli di Zattu: ottocentoquarantacinque.
The children of Zattu, eight hundred and forty five.
14 Figli di Zaccai: settecentosessanta.
The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty.
15 Figli di Binnui: seicentoquarantotto.
The children of Binnui, six hundred and forty eight.
16 Figli di Bebai: seicentoventotto.
The children of Bebai, six hundred and twenty eight.
17 Figli di Azgad: duemilatrecento ventidue.
The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred and twenty two.
18 Figli di Adonikam: seicentosessantasette.
The children of Adonikam, six hundred and sixty seven.
19 Figli di Bigvai: duemilasessantasette.
The children of Bigvai, two thousand and sixty seven.
20 Figli di Adin: seicentocinquantacinque.
The children of Adin, six hundred and fifty five.
21 Figli di Ater, cioè di Ezechia: novantotto.
The children of Ater of Hezekiah, ninety eight.
22 Figli di Casum: trecentoventotto.
The children of Hashum, three hundred and twenty eight.
23 Figli di Bezai: trecentoventiquattro.
The children of Bezai, three hundred and twenty four.
24 Figli di Carif: centododici.
The children of Hariph, a hundred and twelve.
25 Figli di Gàbaon: novantacinque.
The children of Gibeon, ninety five.

The men of Beth-lehem and Netophah, a hundred and eighty eight.

The men of Anathoth, a hundred and twenty eight.

29 Uomini di Kiriat-Iearìm, di Chefira e di Beeròt: settecentoquarantatrè.
The men of Kirjath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and forty three.
30 Uomini di Rama e di Gheba: seicentoventuno.
The men of Ramah and Gaba, six hundred and twenty one.
31 Uomini di Micmas: centoventidue.
The men of Michmas, a hundred and twenty two.
32 Uomini di Betel e di Ai: centoventitrè.
The men of Beth-el and Ai, a hundred and twenty three.

The children of Immer, a thousand and fifty two.

The children of Pashur, a thousand two hundred and forty seven.

The porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, a hundred and thirty eight.

The children of Reaiah, the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda,
51 figli di Gazzam, figli di Uzza, figli di Pasèach,
The children of Gazzam, the children of Uzza, the children of Phaseah,
52 figli di Besai, figli dei Meunim, figli dei Nefisesim,
The children of Besai, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephishesim,
53 figli di Bakbuk, figli di Cakufa. figli di Carcur,
The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,
54 figli di Baslit, figli di Mechida, figli di Carsa,
The children of Bazlith, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,
55 figli di Barkos, figli di Sisara, figli di Temach,
The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Tamah,
56 figli di Neziach, figli di Catifa.
The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.
57 Discendenti dei servi di Salomone: figli di Sotai, figli di Sofèret, figli di Perida,
The children of Solomon's servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
58 figli di Iaala, figli di Darkon, figli di Ghiddel,
The children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
59 figli di Sefatia, figli di Cattil, figli di Pochèret-Azzebàim, figli di Amòn.
The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Amon.
60 Totale degli oblati e dei discendenti dei servi di Salomone: trecentonovantadue.
All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, [were] three hundred and ninety two.
61 Ecco quelli che tornarono da Tel-Melach, da Tel-Carsa, da Cherub-Addòn e da Immer e che non avevano potuto stabilire il loro casato per dimostrare che erano della stirpe di Israele:
And these [were] they who went up [also] from Tel-mela, Tel-haresha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not show their fathers house, nor their seed, whether they [were] of Israel.
62 figli di Delaia, figli di Tobia, figli di Nekoda: seicentoquarantadue.
The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and forty two.
63 Tra i sacerdoti: figli di Cobaia, figli di Akkos, figli di Barzillài, il quale aveva sposato una delle figlie di Barzillài il Galaadita e fu chiamato con il loro nome.
And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai, who took [one] of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite for a wife, and was called after their name.
64 Questi cercarono il loro registro genealogico, ma non lo trovarono e furono quindi esclusi dal sacerdozio;
These sought their register [among] those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.
65 il governatore ordinò loro di non mangiare cose santissime finché non si presentasse un sacerdote con Urim e Tummim.
And the Tirshatha said to them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand [up] a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 La comunità nel suo totale era di quarantaduemila trecentosessanta persone,
The whole congregation together [was] forty two thousand three hundred and sixty.
67 oltre ai loro schiavi e alle loro schiave in numero di settemila trecentotrentasette. Avevano anche duecentoquarantacinque cantori e cantanti.
Besides their man-servants and their maid-servants, of whom [there were] seven thousand three hundred and thirty seven: and they had two hundred and forty five singing-men and singing-women.
68 Avevano settecentotrentasei cavalli, duecentoquarantacinque muli,
Their horses, seven hundred and thirty six: their mules, two hundred and forty five:
69 quattrocentotrentacinque cammelli, seimila settecentoventi asini.
[Their] camels, four hundred and thirty five: six thousand seven hundred and twenty asses.
70 Alcuni dei capifamiglia offrirono doni per la fabbrica. Il governatore diede al tesoro mille dracme d'oro, cinquanta coppe, cinquecentotrenta vesti sacerdotali.
And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' garments.
71 Alcuni capifamiglia diedero al tesoro della fabbrica ventimila dracme d'oro e duemiladuecento mine d'argento.
And [some] of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
72 Il resto del popolo diede ventimila dracme d'oro, duemila mine d'argento e sessantanove vesti sacerdotali.
And [that] which the rest of the people gave [was] twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty seven priests' garments.
73 I sacerdoti, i leviti, i portieri, i cantori, alcuni del popolo, gli oblati e tutti gli Israeliti si stabilirono nelle loro città. Come giunse il settimo mese, gli Israeliti erano nelle loro città.
So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel [were] in their cities.
