Esdra 6
1 Allora il re Dario ordinò che si facessero ricerche nell'archivio, là dove si conservano i tesori a Babilonia,
So King Darius ordered an investigation in the house of archives in Babylon.
2 e a Ecbàtana, la fortezza che è nella provincia di Media, si trovò un rotolo in cui era scritto: «Promemoria.
In the fortified city of Ecbatana in Media a scroll was found; this was its record:
3 Nell'anno primo del re Ciro, il re Ciro prese questa decisione riguardo al tempio in Gerusalemme: la casa sia ricostruita come luogo in cui si facciano sacrifici; le sue fondamenta siano salde, la sua altezza sia di sessanta cubiti, la sua larghezza di sessanta cubiti.
“In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus issued a decree about the house of God in Jerusalem: 'Let the house be rebuilt as a place for sacrifice, let its foundations be laid, let its height be sixty cubits, and its width sixty cubits,
4 Vi siano nei muri tre spessori di blocchi di pietra e uno di legno. La spesa sia pagata dalla reggia.
with three rows of large stones and a row of new timber, and let the cost be paid by the king's house.
5 Inoltre gli arredi del tempio fatti d'oro e d'argento, che Nabucodònosor ha portato via dal tempio di Gerusalemme e trasferito a Babilonia, siano restituiti e rimessi al loro posto nel tempio di Gerusalemme e ricollocati nella casa di Dio».
Now bring back the gold and silver objects belonging to the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar brought to Babylon from the temple in Jerusalem and send them back to the temple in Jerusalem. You are to put them in the house of God.'
6 «Quindi voi Tattènai, governatore d'Oltrefiume e Setar-Boznai, con i vostri colleghi funzionari residenti nell'Oltrefiume, tenetevi in disparte.
Now Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, Shethar-Bozenai, and associates who are in the Province Beyond the River, keep away!
7 Lasciate che lavorino a quella casa di Dio il governatore dei Giudei e i loro anziani. Essi ricostruiscano questo tempio al suo posto.
Leave the work of this house of God alone. The governor and Jewish elders will build this house of God at that place.
8 Ecco i miei ordini sull'atteggiamento che dovete tenere con questi anziani dei Giudei per la ricostruzione del tempio: dalle entrate del re, cioè dalla imposta dell'Oltrefiume, saranno rimborsate puntualmente le spese a quegli uomini, senza interruzione.
I am ordering that you must do this for these Jewish elders who build this house of God: Funds from the king's tribute beyond the River will be used to pay these men so they do not have to stop their work.
9 Ciò che loro occorre, giovenchi, arieti e agnelli, per gli olocausti al Dio del cielo, come anche grano, sale, vino e olio, siano loro forniti ogni giorno senza esitazione, secondo le indicazioni dei sacerdoti di Gerusalemme,
Whatever is needed—young bulls, rams, or lambs for the burnt offerings to the God of Heaven, grain, salt, wine, or oil according to the command of the priests in Jerusalem—give these things to them every day without fail.
10 perché si facciano offerte di odore soave al Dio del cielo e si preghi per la vita del re e dei suoi figli.
Do this so they will bring the offering in to the God of Heaven and pray for me, the king, and my sons.
11 Ordino ancora: se qualcuno trasgredisce questo decreto, si tolga una trave dalla sua casa, la si rizzi ed egli vi sia impiccato. Poi la sua casa sia ridotta a letamaio.
I am ordering that if anyone violates this decree, a beam must be pulled from his house and he must be impaled on it. His house must then be turned into a rubbish heap because of this.
12 Il Dio che ha fatto risiedere là il suo nome disperda qualsiasi re o popolo che presuma trasgredire il mio ordine, distruggendo questo tempio che è a Gerusalemme. Io Dario ho emanato questo ordine: sia eseguito alla lettera».
May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to change this decree, or to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, am ordering this. Let it be done with diligence!”
13 Allora Tattènai, governatore dell'Oltrefiume, Setar-Boznai e i loro colleghi eseguirono alla lettera quel che aveva comandato il re Dario.
Then because of the decree sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, and Shethar-Bozenai and his associates, did everything that King Darius had ordered.
14 Quanto agli anziani dei Giudei, essi continuarono a costruire e fecero progressi con l'incoraggiamento delle parole ispirate del profeta Aggeo e di Zaccaria figlio di Iddo. Portarono a compimento la costruzione secondo il comando del Dio d'Israele e secondo il decreto di Ciro, di Dario e di Artaserse re di Persia.
So the Jewish elders built and prospered under the teaching of Haggaithe prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. They completed their buildings according to the decree of the God of Israel and by the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes the king of Persia.
15 Si terminò la costruzione di questo tempio il giorno tre del mese di Adar nell'anno sesto del regno del re Dario.
The house was completed on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of King Darius' reign.
16 Allora gli Israeliti, i sacerdoti, i leviti e gli altri rimpatriati celebrarono con gioia la dedicazione di questa casa di Dio;
The Israelite people, priests, Levites, and the rest of the captives celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
17 offrirono per la dedicazione di questa casa di Dio cento tori, duecento arieti, quattrocento agnelli; inoltre dodici capri come sacrifici espiatori per tutto Israele, secondo il numero delle tribù d'Israele.
They offered one hundred bulls, one hundred rams, and four hundred lambs for the dedication of God's house. Twelve male goats were also offered as a sin offering for all Israel, one for each tribe in Israel.
18 Inoltre stabilirono i sacerdoti divisi secondo le loro classi e i leviti secondo i loro turni per il servizio di Dio a Gerusalemme, come è scritto nel libro di Mosè.
They also assigned the priests and Levites to work divisions for the service of God in Jerusalem, as it was written in the Book of Moses.
19 I rimpatriati celebrarono la pasqua il quattordici del primo mese,
So those who had been in exile celebrated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
20 poiché i sacerdoti e i leviti si erano purificati tutti insieme come un sol uomo: tutti erano mondi. Così immolarono la pasqua per tutti i rimpatriati, per i loro fratelli sacerdoti e per se stessi.
The priests and Levites all purified themselves and slaughtered the Passover sacrifices for all those who had been in exile, including themselves.
21 Mangiarono la pasqua gli Israeliti che erano tornati dall'esilio e quanti si erano separati dalla contaminazione del popolo del paese e si erano uniti a loro per aderire al Signore Dio d'Israele.
The Israelite people who ate some of the Passover meat were those who had returned from exile and had separated themselves from the uncleanness of the people of the land and sought Yahweh, the God of Israel.
22 Celebrarono con gioia la festa degli azzimi per sette giorni poiché il Signore li aveva colmati di gioia, avendo piegato a loro favore il cuore del re di Assiria, per rafforzare le loro mani nel lavoro per il tempio del Dio d'Israele.
They joyfully celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days, for Yahweh had brought them joy and turned the heart of Assyria's king to strengthen their hands in the work of his house, the house of the God of Israel.
