1 Quanto poi alla colletta in favore dei fratelli, fate anche voi come ho ordinato alle Chiese della Galazia.
Now concerning the offering for the saints, you also are to do as I directed the church of Galatia.
2 Ogni primo giorno della settimana ciascuno metta da parte ciò che gli è riuscito di risparmiare, perché non si facciano le collette proprio quando verrò io.
On the first day of each week let each of you put aside something, keeping it in store as he may prosper, so that when I come there may be no collections going on.
3 Quando poi giungerò, manderò con una mia lettera quelli che voi avrete scelto per portare il dono della vostra liberalità a Gerusalemme.
On my arrival I will send those whom you may accredit by letter to carry your bounty to Jerusalem.
4 E se converrà che vada anch'io, essi partiranno con me.
And if it is worth while for me to go too, they will accompany me.
5 Verrò da voi dopo aver attraversato la Macedonia, poiché la Macedonia intendo solo attraversarla;
Now I shall come to you after I have gone through Macedonia.
6 ma forse mi fermerò da voi o anche passerò l'inverno, perché siate voi a predisporre il necessario per dove andrò.
I shall remain some time with you; possibly spending the winter, in order that you may help me forward in whatever journey I take.
7 Non voglio vedervi solo di passaggio, ma spero di trascorrere un pò di tempo con voi, se il Signore lo permetterà.
For I do not wish at this present time to see you merely in passing; but if the Lord permits, I hope to remain some time with you.
8 Mi fermerò tuttavia a Efeso fino a Pentecoste,
I am staying for the present in Ephesus, until Pentecost;
9 perché mi si è aperta una porta grande e propizia, anche se gli avversari sono molti.
for a door has opened to me, great and effectual, and the opponents are many.
10 Quando verrà Timòteo, fate che non si trovi in soggezione presso di voi, giacchè anche lui lavora come me per l'opera del Signore.
If Timothy come, see to it that he is among you without trepidation; for he is doing the Lord’s work, as I am, so let no one disparage him.
11 Nessuno dunque gli manchi di riguardo; al contrario, accomiatatelo in pace, perché ritorni presso di me: io lo aspetto con i fratelli.
Whenever he comes to me, send him on his way in peace, for I am expecting him with the other brothers.
12 Quanto poi al fratello Apollo, l'ho pregato vivamente di venire da voi con i fratelli, ma non ha voluto assolutamente saperne di partire ora; verrà tuttavia quando gli si presenterà l'occasione.
As for our Apollos, I have many times urged him to go to you with the others, but he was always unwilling to go to you at this time. He will come, however, whenever he has a good opportunity.
13 Vigilate, state saldi nella fede, comportatevi da uomini, siate forti.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, be manly, be strong.
14 Tutto si faccia tra voi nella carità.
Let all that you do be done in love.
15 Una raccomandazione ancora, o fratelli: conoscete la famiglia di Stefana, che è primizia dell'Acaia; hanno dedicato se stessi a servizio dei fedeli;
I beg you this, my brothers - you know the household of Stephanus, that they were the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they devoted themselves to the service of the saints -
16 siate anche voi deferenti verso di loro e verso quanti collaborano e si affaticano con loro.
so I want you also to show deference to such, and to every fellow worker, and laborer.
17 Io mi rallegro della visita di Stefana, di Fortunato e di Acàico, i quali hanno supplito alla vostra assenza;
I am glad that Stephanus and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived, for they have made up for your absence.
18 essi hanno allietato il mio spirito e allieteranno anche il vostro. Sappiate apprezzare siffatte persone.
They refresh my spirit as they do yours. So cultivate the acquaintance of such men.
19 Le comunità dell'Asia vi salutano. Vi salutano molto nel Signore Aquila e Prisca, con la comunità che si raduna nella loro casa.
The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla (Prisca), with the church that meets in their house, greet you heartily in the Lord.
20 Vi salutano i fratelli tutti. Salutatevi a vicenda con il bacio santo.
All the brothers send greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

22 Se qualcuno non ama il Signore sia anàtema. Marana tha: vieni, o Signore!
If any one does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord is coming.

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
24 Il mio amore con tutti voi in Cristo Gesù!
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.
