1 Inilah silsilah Yesus Kristus, anak Daud, anak Abraham.
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.
2 Abraham memperanakkan Ishak, Ishak memperanakkan Yakub, Yakub memperanakkan Yehuda dan saudara-saudaranya,

As he thought about these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, because the one who is conceived in her is conceived by the Holy Spirit.
21 Ia akan melahirkan anak laki-laki dan engkau akan menamakan Dia Yesus, karena Dialah yang akan menyelamatkan umat-Nya dari dosa mereka."
She will give birth to a son, and you will call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
22 Hal itu terjadi supaya genaplah yang difirmankan Tuhan oleh nabi:
All this happened to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 "Sesungguhnya, anak dara itu akan mengandung dan melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki, dan mereka akan menamakan Dia Imanuel" --yang berarti: Allah menyertai kita.
“Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call his name Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
24 Sesudah bangun dari tidurnya, Yusuf berbuat seperti yang diperintahkan malaikat Tuhan itu kepadanya. Ia mengambil Maria sebagai isterinya,
Joseph woke up from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and he took her as his wife.
25 tetapi tidak bersetubuh dengan dia sampai ia melahirkan anaknya laki-laki dan Yusuf menamakan Dia Yesus.
But he did not have sexual relations with her until she gave birth to a son. Then he called his name Jesus.
