Rut 2
1 Naomi mempunyai seorang anggota keluarga dari pihak mendiang suaminya, Elimelekh. Orang itu kaya dan terpandang. Namanya Boas.
Forsothe a myyti man and a man `of grete richessis, `Booz bi name, `was kynysman of Elymelech.
2 Pada suatu hari kata Rut kepada Naomi, "Ibu, saya permisi mau ke ladang untuk memungut gandum yang mungkin terjatuh dari tangan para penuai. Saya rasa tentu ada saja orang yang akan membiarkan saya melakukan hal itu." "Baik, nak!" jawab Naomi, "pergilah!"
And Ruth of Moab seide to hir modir in lawe, If thou comaundist, Y schal go in to the feeld, and Y schal gadere eeris of corn that fleen the hondis of reperis, where euer Y schal fynde grace of an hosebonde man merciful in me. To whom sche answeride, Go, my douyter.
3 Maka pergilah Rut ke ladang dan memungut gandum mengikuti para penuai. Kebetulan ia pergi ke ladang milik Boas.
Therfor `sche yede, and gaderide eeris of corn after the backis of reperis. Forsothe it bifelde, that `thilke feeld hadde a lord, Booz bi name, that was of the kynrede of Elymelech.
4 Tidak lama kemudian Boas datang dari Betlehem dan memberi salam kepada para penuai. "Semoga TUHAN menyertai kalian," katanya. Para penuai menjawab, "Semoga TUHAN memberkati Bapak."
And lo! he cam fro Bethleem. And he seide to the reperis, The Lord be with you. Whiche answeriden to hym, The Lord blesse thee.
5 Lalu Boas bertanya kepada mandurnya, "Siapa wanita itu?"
And Booz seide to the yong man that was souereyn to the reperis, Who is this damysel?
6 Mandur itu menjawab, "Dia wanita bangsa Moab yang baru datang bersama Naomi dari negeri Moab.
Whiche answeride, This is the womman of Moab, that cam with Noemy fro the cuntrey of Moab; and sche preiede,
7 Ia minta izin dari saya supaya diperbolehkan ikut di belakang para penuai untuk memungut gandum yang tercecer. Sejak pagi ia bekerja terus, dan sekarang baru saja berhenti untuk beristirahat sebentar di pondok."
that sche schulde gedere eeris of corn leeuynge bihynde, and sue the `steppis of reperis; and fro the morewtid til now sche stondith in the feeld, and sotheli nethir at a moment sche turnede ayen hoom.
8 Lalu Boas berkata kepada Rut, "Coba dengar dahulu. Tidak usah engkau pergi memungut gandum di ladang orang lain. Pungut saja di sini bersama para pekerja saya yang wanita. Perhatikanlah ke mana mereka pergi menuai. Ikutilah mereka selalu dan jangan jauh dari mereka. Kalau engkau haus, ambil saja air dari tempayan-tempayan yang sudah diisi oleh para pekerja laki-laki. Saya sudah memerintahkan supaya mereka jangan mengganggu engkau."
And Booz seide to Ruth, Douytir, here thou; go thou not in to anothir feelde to gadere, nether go awei fro this place, but be thou ioyned to my dameselis,
and sue thou where thei repen; for Y comaundide to my children, that `no man be diseseful to thee; but also if thou thirstist, go to the fardels, and drynke `watris, of whiche my children drynken.
10 Mendengar itu, Rut sujud di hadapan Boas dan berkata, "Pak, saya tidak layak menerima perlakuan yang begitu baik dari Bapak. Saya ini orang asing dan tidak seharusnya mendapat perhatian Bapak!"
And sche felde on hir face, and worschipide on the erthe; and seide to hym, Wherof is this to me, that Y schulde fynde grace bifor thin iyen, that thou woldist knowe me a straunge womman?
11 Boas menjawab, "Saya sudah mendengar tentang segala sesuatu yang kaulakukan terhadap ibu mertuamu sejak suamimu meninggal. Saya tahu bahwa engkau telah meninggalkan orang tuamu dan tanah airmu untuk datang dan tinggal di sini bersama orang-orang yang belum kaukenal.
To whom he answeride, Alle thingis ben teld to me, whiche thou didist to thi modir in lawe after the deeth of thin hosebonde, and that thou hast forsake thi fadir and modir, and the lond `in which thou were borun, and hast come to a puple, whom thou `knowist not bifore.
12 Semoga TUHAN membalas segala kebaikanmu. Semoga kau menerima apa yang patut diberikan kepadamu oleh TUHAN, Allah Israel, karena engkau telah datang untuk berlindung kepada-Nya!"
The Lord yelde to thee for thi werk, and resseyue thou ful mede of the Lord God of Israel, to whom thou camest, and vndir whose wengis thou fleddist.
13 Rut menjawab, "Bapak sungguh baik kepada saya, meskipun saya tidak sama dengan pekerja Bapak. Keramahan Bapak sangat menghibur hati saya."
And sche seide, My lord, Y haue founde grace bifor thin iyen, which hast coumfortid me, and hast spoke to the herte of thin handmaide, which am not lijk oon of thi damesels.
14 Ketika sudah waktunya untuk makan, Boas berkata kepada Rut, "Marilah makan. Ini sausnya." Maka Rut pun makan bersama dengan para penuai. Boas juga memberikan gandum panggang kepadanya, dan Rut makan sampai kenyang. Setelah makan, ada pula sisanya.
And Booz seide to hir, Whanne the our of etyng is, come thou hidur, and ete breed, and wete thi mussel in vynegre. Therfor sche sat at the `side of reperis; and he dresside to hir potage, and sche eet, and was fillid; and sche took the relifs.
15 Kemudian Rut pergi lagi memungut gandum. Setelah ia pergi, Boas berkata kepada para penuainya, "Kalau dia memungut gandum di antara yang sudah diikat, biarkan saja. Jangan membuat dia malu atau memarahi dia. Baiklah kalian sengaja mencabut sedikit-sedikit dari yang sudah diikat-ikat itu, dan menjatuhkannya untuk dia supaya dia memungutnya."

17 Rut terus saja memungut gandum di ladang sampai sore. Setelah ia memukul-mukul batang-batang gandum itu untuk melepaskan biji-bijinya dari batangnya, ternyata ia telah mengumpulkan kira-kira sepuluh kilogram.
Therfor sche gaderide in the feeld `til to euentid; and sche beet with a yerde, and schook out tho thingis that sche hadde gaderid; and sche foond of barly as the mesure of ephi, that is, thre buschels.
18 Kemudian ia pulang ke kota dengan membawa hasil pungutannya itu dan menunjukkan kepada ibu mertuanya berapa banyak yang telah dipungutnya. Dan ia juga memberikan kepada ibu mertuanya itu makanan yang tak dapat dihabiskannya pada waktu makan.
Which sche bar, and turnede ayen in to the citee, and schewide to hir modir in lawe; ferthermore sche brouyte forth, `and yaf to hir the relifs of hir mete, with which mete sche was fillid.
19 Maka berkatalah Naomi kepadanya, "Di mana kau mendapat semuanya ini? Di ladang siapa kau bekerja hari ini? Semoga Allah memberkati orang yang berbuat baik kepadamu itu!" Maka Rut menceritakan kepada Naomi bahwa ladang tempat ia memungut gandum itu adalah milik seorang laki-laki bernama Boas.
And the modir in lawe seide to hir, Where `gaderidist thou to dai, and where `didist thou werk? Blessid be he, that hadde mercy on thee. And sche telde to hir, at whom sche wrouyte; and sche seide the name `of the man, that he was clepid Booz.
20 "Nak, orang itu keluarga dekat kita sendiri," kata Naomi. "Dialah yang harus bertanggung jawab atas kita. Semoga TUHAN memberkati dia. TUHAN selalu menepati janji-Nya, baik kepada orang yang masih hidup maupun kepada mereka yang sudah meninggal."
To whom Noemy answeride, Blessid be he of the Lord, for he kepte also to deed men the same grace, which he yaf to the quike. And eft sche seide, He is oure kynysman.
21 Kemudian Rut berkata lagi, "Bu, orang itu mengatakan juga bahwa saya boleh terus memungut gandum bersama para pekerjanya sampai hasil seluruh ladangnya selesai dituai."
And Ruth seide, Also he comaundide this to me, that so longe Y schulde be ioyned to hise reperis, til alle the cornes weren repid.
22 "Ya, nak," jawab Naomi kepada Rut, "memang lebih baik kau bekerja bersama para pekerja wanita di ladang Boas. Sebab, kalau kau pergi ke ladang orang lain, kau bisa diganggu orang di sana!"
To whom hir modir in lawe seide, My douyter, it is betere that thou go `out to repe with hise damysels, lest in another feeld ony man ayenstonde thee.
23 Oleh sebab itu, Rut tetap mengikuti para pekerja wanita di ladang Boas. Ia memungut gandum di sana sampai seluruh panen selesai dituai--baik panen pertama maupun panen terakhir. Dan selama itu Rut tinggal dengan ibu mertuanya.
`Therfor sche was ioyned to the damesels of Booz; and so longe sche rap with hem, til bothe barli and wheete weren closid in the bernys.
