Mazmur 83

1 Mazmur Asaf: sebuah nyanyian. Ya Allah, janganlah membisu, jangan berpangku tangan dan tinggal diam.

A Song of a Psalm for Asaph. O God, who shall be compared to you? be not silent, neither be still, O God.

2 Lihatlah, musuh-Mu bergolak, orang-orang yang membenci Engkau berontak.

For behold, your enemies have made a noise; and they that hate you have lifted up the head.

3 Mereka membuat rencana licik melawan umat-Mu; dan berunding melawan orang-orang yang Kaulindungi.

Against your people they have craftily imagined a device, and have taken counsel against your saints.

4 Kata mereka, "Mari kita hancurkan bangsa Israel, supaya nama mereka tidak diingat lagi."

They have said, Come, and let us utterly destroy them out of the nation; and let the name of Israel be remembered no more at all.

5 Bangsa-bangsa telah bersekutu, dan bermupakat melawan Engkau:

For they have taken counsel together with one consent: they have made a confederacy against you;

6 bangsa Edom dan Ismael, orang-orang Moab dan Hagar;

even the tents of the Idumeans, and the Ismaelites; Moab, and the Agarenes;

7 bangsa Gebal, Amon dan Amalek, bangsa Filistea serta penduduk Tirus.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalec; the Philistines also, with them that dwell at Tyre.

8 Juga Asyur telah bergabung dengan mereka, menjadi kaki tangan keturunan Lot.

Yes, Assur too is come with them: they have become a help to the children of Lot. (Pause)

9 Perlakukanlah mereka seperti orang Midian, seperti Sisera dan Yabin di Sungai Kison,

Do you to them as to Madiam, and to Sisera; as to Jabin at the brook of Kison.

10 yang sudah dibinasakan di Endor, dan menjadi pupuk untuk tanah.

They were utterly destroyed at Aendor: they became as dung for the earth.

11 Perlakukanlah pemimpin mereka seperti Oreb dan Zeeb, tundukkanlah penguasa mereka seperti Zebah dan Salmuna,

Make their princes as Oreb and Zeb, and Zebee and Salmana; [even] all their princes:

12 karena mereka telah berkata, "Mari kita duduki tanah kediaman Allah."

who said, let us take to ourselves the altar of God as an inheritance.

13 Ya Allah, hamburkanlah mereka seperti debu, seperti jerami yang ditiup angin.

O my God, make them as a wheel; as stubble before the face of the wind.

14 Seperti api yang membakar hutan, nyala api yang menghanguskan gunung-gunung.

As fire which shall burn up a wood, as the flame may consume the mountains;

15 Kejarlah mereka dengan badai-Mu, kejutkan mereka dengan topan-Mu.

so shall you persecute them with your tempest, and trouble them in your anger.

16 Ya TUHAN, biarlah mereka dihina, supaya mereka mengakui kekuasaan-Mu.

Fill their faces with dishonor; so shall they seek your name, O Lord.

17 Biarlah mereka selamanya dipermalukan dan ketakutan, biarlah mereka mati dalam kehinaan.

Let them be ashamed and troubled for evermore; yes, let them be confounded and destroyed.

18 Semoga mereka tahu hanya Engkaulah Yang Mahatinggi, TUHAN, yang menguasai seluruh bumi.

And let them know that your name is Lord; that you alone are Most High over all the earth.
