Yehezkiel 21
1 TUHAN berkata kepadaku, kata-Nya,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 "Hai manusia fana, kutukilah Yerusalem. Kutukilah tempat-tempat ibadat di sana. Peringatkanlah tanah Israel,
Son of man, direct thy face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
3 bahwa Aku, TUHAN, berkata begini, 'Aku ini musuhmu. Aku akan mencabut pedang-Ku dan membunuh kamu semua, yang jahat maupun yang baik.
And say to the land of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will be against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath; and I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Dengan pedang-Ku akan Kulawan semua orang dari utara sampai ke selatan.
But because I shall have cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked: therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north;
5 Maka semua orang akan tahu bahwa Aku, TUHAN, mencabut pedang-Ku dan tidak akan menyarungkannya kembali.'
That all flesh may know that I the Lord have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.
6 Hai manusia fana, mengeranglah dan mengaduhlah di depan orang-orang Israel, seolah-olah engkau patah hati dan putus asa.
But thou, son of man, do thou sigh: as though with broken loins, and with bitterness [of grief] shalt thou sigh before their eyes.
7 Jika mereka bertanya mengapa engkau mengaduh, katakanlah bahwa engkau sedih karena berita yang akan datang. Berita itu akan membuat hati mereka gentar, tangan mereka lemas, dan lutut mereka gemetar, mereka akan patah semangat. Sungguh saatnya telah tiba, dan semua itu akan terjadi. Aku TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi telah berbicara."
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, For the report, because it cometh, when every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be made feeble, and every spirit shall become faint, and all knees shall be changed into water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord Eternal.
8 TUHAN berkata kepadaku,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
9 "Hai manusia fana, meramallah! Beritahukanlah kepada orang-orang bahwa Aku, TUHAN berkata begini, 'Adalah sebuah pedang, pedang yang digosok dan ditajamkan.
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord, Say, The sword, the sword is sharpened, and also polished;
10 Ia ditajamkan agar bisa mematikan, dilicinkan agar berkilau-kilauan. Bagi umat-Ku tak ada lagi kegembiraan sebab segala peringatan dan hukuman mereka abaikan.
In order to make a thorough slaughter is it sharpened; in order that it may glitter is it polished: how can we now rejoice, [when] the rod which reacheth my son excelleth in hardness every tree?
11 Pedang itu diasah supaya selalu siap dipakai lalu diserahkan kepada seorang pembantai.
And he hath given it to be polished, to make it fit to grasp it in the hand: it is the sword which is sharpened, and it is polished, to place it into the hand of the slayer.
12 Hai manusia fana, merataplah dan berseru! Sebab pedang itu siap melawan umat-Ku. Para pemimpin Israel bersama seluruh bangsa akan ditikam pedang itu hingga binasa. Maka tepuklah dadamu dengan pilu,
Cry aloud and wail, O son of man; for it cometh against my people, it cometh against all the princes of Israel; brought together for the sword are they with my people: therefore strike [thy hand] upon thy thigh.
13 sebab Aku sedang menguji umat-Ku, jika mereka tak mau memperbaiki kelakuannya, semua itu akan terjadi pada mereka.'
For a purification taketh place: and what if the irresistible rod will also come? [my son] would not be able to exist, saith the Lord Eternal.
14 Nah, manusia fana, meramallah. Tepuklah tanganmu, sebagai tanda bagi pedang itu untuk mulai membantai. Pedang itu sangat menakutkan.
But thou, son of man, prophesy, and strike thy hands together, and let “The sword” be repeated the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great that are slain, which lieth in wait for them everywhere.
15 Ia membuat bangsa-Ku hilang keberaniannya dan jatuh tersandung. Aku mengancam kota mereka dengan pedang itu yang mengkilap seperti kilat, dan yang siap untuk membunuh.
In order to make timid the heart, and to multiply the stumbling-blocks, do I bring the howling of the sword against all their gates: ah! it is made bright, it is made thin-edged for the slaughter.
16 Hai pedang yang tajam, pancunglah ke kanan dan ke kiri, dan ke arah mana saja menurut keinginanmu.
Gather up thy strength, go to the right hand, direct thyself, go to the left, whithersoever thy edge is turned.
17 Aku akan tepuk tangan juga, lalu kemarahan-Ku akan reda. Aku, TUHAN telah berbicara."
And I also, —I will strike my hands together, and I will cause my fury to be assuaged: I the Lord have spoken it.
18 TUHAN berbicara kepadaku, kata-Nya,
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
19 "Hai manusia fana, gambarlah dua jalan yang dapat dilalui oleh raja Babel yang membawa pedangnya. Kedua jalan itu harus berpangkal dari negeri yang sama; jalan yang satu menuju ke Raba, kota Amon; yang satu lagi ke Yerusalem, kota berbenteng di Yehuda. Pasanglah papan penunjuk jalan di mana jalan itu mulai bercabang.
But thou, O son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; out of one land shall both of them come forth: and select a place; at the head of the way to a city do thou select it.
A way shalt thou appoint, that the sword may come against Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon, and [the other] against Judah [dwelling] in Jerusalem the fortified.
21 Raja Babel berdiri di dekat papan penunjuk jalan itu. Untuk mengetahui jalan mana yang akan dilaluinya, ia meminta petunjuk dari berhala-berhalanya, mengocok panah dan memeriksa hati binatang yang baru dikurbankan.
For the king of Babylon hath halted at the parting of the way, at the commencement of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh the arrows, he consulteth with images, he looketh at the liver.
22 Ternyata panah yang terambil oleh tangan kanannya bertanda Yerusalem! Itu berarti bahwa raja harus menyerang kota Yerusalem, menyerukan pekik pertempuran dan menyuruh tentaranya menyusun alat-alat pendobrak, memasangnya pada pintu-pintu gerbang Yerusalem, menimbun tanah menjadi tembok pengepungan dan menggali parit-parit.
At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to erect battering-rams, to open the mouth with the [cry for] murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to place battering-rams against the gates, to cast up a mound, and to build works of attack.
23 Penduduk Yerusalem tidak akan percaya bahwa mereka diserang, karena mereka telah membuat perjanjian dengan Babel. Tetapi ramalan ini akan memperingatkan mereka bahwa mereka akan ditangkap karena dosa-dosa mereka.
And it will appear unto them as a false divination in their eyes, to those that had sworn oaths; but he will bring to remembrance their iniquity, that they may be caught.
24 Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata kepada mereka, 'Dosa-dosamu sudah ketahuan dan semua orang tahu bahwa kamu bersalah. Kejahatanmu tampak dalam setiap tindakanmu. Sekarang sudah tiba saatnya kamu dihukum dan kamu akan Kuserahkan kepada musuhmu.'
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because ye have brought your iniquity to remembrance, as your transgressions are discovered, so that your sins do appear in all your doings: because ye are thus brought to remembrance, ye shall be caught by [his] hand.
25 Dan kepada raja Israel Aku berkata, 'Hai raja yang jahat dan durhaka! Saat untuk hukumanmu yang terakhir sudah dekat.
And thou, death-deserving wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end, —
26 Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi sudah berbicara. Lepaskanlah mahkotamu dan bukalah serbanmu. Sekarang, keadaan sudah berubah. Angkatlah kedudukan orang miskin dan berilah mereka kuasa! Turunkan para penguasa dari martabatnya!
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Remove the mitre, and take off the crown: this shall not be always so; exalt him that is low, and make him low that is high.
27 Kota ini akan Kuhancurkan sama sekali, sehingga di mana-mana ada puing-puing. Tetapi hal itu baru terjadi apabila orang yang Kupilih untuk menghukum kota ini telah datang. Kepada dialah akan Kuserahkan kota ini.'"
Overthrown, overthrown, overthrown will I render it: also this shall not belong [to any one], until he come whose right it is, and I will give it him.
28 "Hai manusia fana, meramallah! Beritahukanlah kepada orang Amon yang telah menghina Israel, bahwa Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi berkata, 'Sebuah pedang sudah siap untuk membantai; pedang itu sudah diasah mengkilap seperti kilat, supaya siap untuk membunuh.
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal concerning the children of 'Ammon, and concerning their reproach: even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it polished, to destroy, that it may continue to glitter;
29 Penglihatan yang kamu lihat adalah palsu, dan ramalan yang kamu ucapkan juga bohong dan dusta. Kamu jahat serta durhaka, dan saat untuk hukumanmu yang terakhir sudah dekat. Pedang itu akan memenggal lehermu.
While they foresee unto thee falsehood, while they divine unto thee lies, to lay thee by the necks of the slain wicked, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end.
30 Hai orang Amon, sarungkanlah kembali pedangmu! Kamu akan Kuhakimi di tempat kamu diciptakan dan dilahirkan.
Put back [the sword] into its sheath! in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy origin, will I judge thee.
31 Aku akan melampiaskan ke atasmu kemarahan-Ku yang menyala-nyala. Dan kamu akan Kuserahkan kepada orang-orang yang kejam yang terlatih untuk membinasakan.
And I will pour out over thee my indignation, with the fire of my wrath will I blow against thee, and I will give thee up into the hand of brutish men, skilful in destroying.
32 Kamu akan habis dimakan api. Darahmu akan tertumpah di negerimu sendiri, dan tak ada seorang pun yang masih ingat kepadamu. Aku TUHAN telah berbicara.'"
To the fire shalt thou be given to be devoured; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land: thou shalt not be remembered [any more]; for I the Lord have spoken it.
