Amos 9

1 Aku melihat TUHAN berdiri di dekat mezbah. Ia memberikan perintah ini, "Pukullah keras-keras kepala-kepala tiang di Rumah-Ku supaya seluruh serambi berguncang. Robohkan tiang-tiang itu ke atas kepala orang-orang. Mereka yang tidak mati akan Kubunuh dalam peperangan. Tak seorang pun dapat melarikan diri, tak seorang pun akan luput.

I saw the Lord standing upon the altar; and he said, Smite the capital, that the sills may quake; and break them in pieces over the head of all of them; and their posterity will I slay with the sword: there shall not flee away from them one that fleeth, and there shall not escape from them one that is saved.

2 Sekalipun mereka menerobos ke dunia orang mati, Aku akan meraih mereka. Sekalipun mereka naik ke langit, Aku akan menurunkan mereka dari sana. (Sheol h7585)

Though they were to creep down into the nether world, thence would my hand fetch them; and though they were to climb up to the heavens, thence would I bring them down; (Sheol h7585)

3 Jika mereka bersembunyi di puncak Gunung Karmel, Aku akan mencari dan menangkap mereka. Jika mereka bersembunyi di dasar lautan, Aku akan memerintahkan naga laut untuk memagut mereka.

And though they were to hide themselves on the top of Carmel, thence would I search and take them out; and though they were to conceal themselves from before my eyes in the bottom of the sea, thence would I command the serpent, that he should bite them;

4 Jika mereka ditawan oleh musuh, Aku akan memerintahkan supaya mereka dibunuh. Aku bertekad untuk membinasakan mereka, dan tak akan membantu mereka."

And though they were to go into captivity before their enemies, thence would I command the sword, that it should slay them: and I will set my eye upon them for evil, and not for good.

5 Bumi berguncang dan penduduknya berduka, karena disentuh TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi dan Mahakuasa. Seperti Sungai Nil pasang dan surut begitulah mereka naik lalu jatuh.

And the Lord Eternal of hosts it is that toucheth the earth, and she melteth away, and all that dwell thereon shall mourn; and she riseth up like a stream wholly; and she sinketh like the stream of Egypt;

6 TUHAN membangun rumah-Nya jauh di angkasa, di atas bumi dipasang-Nya langit sebagai kubah, dan air dari laut dituangkan-Nya ke daratan, yang melakukan semua itu nama-Nya ialah TUHAN!

That buildeth in the heavens his steps, and hath founded his vault over the earth; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out over the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.

7 TUHAN berkata, "Hai umat Israel, Aku memperhatikan orang Sudan sama seperti Aku memperhatikan kamu. Aku telah membawa orang Filistin dari Kreta dan orang Siria dari Kir sama seperti Aku membawa kamu dari Mesir.

Are ye not like the children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the Lord: have I not brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

8 Aku, TUHAN Yang Mahatinggi, sedang mengamat-amati kerajaan Israel yang berdosa ini, dan Aku akan melenyapkannya dari muka bumi. Tapi keturunan Yakub tidak seluruhnya akan Kubinasakan. Aku, TUHAN, telah berbicara.

Behold, the eyes of the Lord Eternal are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; save only that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.

9 Aku akan memberi perintah dan menampi bangsa Israel seperti orang menampi gandum dalam nyiru. Untuk menyingkirkan semua yang tak berguna di antara mereka, Aku akan mengocok mereka di antara bangsa-bangsa.

For, lo, I will give the command, and I will shake about among all the nations the house of Israel, as one shaketh things in a sieve, while not the least piece falleth down upon the earth.

10 Orang-orang berdosa di antara umat-Ku berkata, 'Allah tidak akan membiarkan kita ditimpa malapetaka.' Tapi, sesungguhnya mereka akan dibunuh dalam peperangan."

By the sword shall die all the sinners of my people, who say, The evil will not come near [us], nor hasten along for our sake.

11 TUHAN berkata, "Akan tiba saatnya Aku memulihkan kerajaan Daud. Sekarang kerajaan itu telah menjadi seperti rumah yang roboh. Tetapi tembok-temboknya akan Kuperbaiki dan Kubangun kembali sehingga menjadi seperti dahulu kala.

On that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David which is fallen; and I will close up its breaches; and its ruins will I raise up, and I will rebuild it as in days of old:

12 Orang Israel akan menguasai negeri Edom yang masih tersisa serta semua bangsa yang dahulu milik-Ku. Aku, TUHAN, telah berbicara dan Aku akan melaksanakan hal itu."

In order that they may take possession of the remnant of Edom, and of all the nations, which are called by my name, saith the Lord that doth this.

13 TUHAN berkata, "Akan tiba waktunya gandum tumbuh begitu cepat sehingga musim menuai tak ada putus-putusnya. Pohon anggur akan tumbuh sangat pesat sehingga orang akan terus-menerus membuat air anggur. Air anggur akan menetes dari gunung-gunung dan mengalir dari bukit-bukit.

Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when the ploughman shall come close up to the harvester, and the treader of the grapes to the one that scattereth the seed: and the mountains shall drop with sweet new wine, and all the hills shall melt away.

14 Aku akan menjadikan umat-Ku Israel makmur kembali. Mereka akan membangun lagi kota-kota mereka yang telah runtuh, lalu mereka akan tinggal di sana. Mereka akan menanami kebun-kebun anggur, dan minum anggurnya. Mereka akan bercocok tanam, dan makan hasilnya.

And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the wasted cities, and dwell therein; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink their wine; and they shall lay out gardens, and eat their fruit.

15 Aku akan menempatkan umat-Ku di negeri yang telah Kuberikan kepada mereka. Mereka tak akan dicabut lagi dari sana. Aku TUHAN Allah mereka telah berbicara."

And I will plant them upon their own soil, and they shall not be pulled up any more out of their land which I have given unto them, saith the Lord thy God.
