1 Tawarikh 11
1 Semua pemimpin bangsa Israel datang kepada Daud di Hebron dan berkata, "Kami ini kerabat Baginda.
Then did all Israel gather themselves unto David unto Hebron, saying Behold, thy bone and thy flesh are we.
2 Sejak dahulu, bahkan ketika Saul masih memerintah kami, Bagindalah yang memimpin tentara Israel setiap kali mereka maju berperang. Lagipula TUHAN Allah Baginda telah berjanji bahwa Bagindalah yang akan memimpin umat-Nya dan menjadi raja mereka."
Already yesterday and even before, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord, thy God, said unto thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be truly a chief over my people Israel.
3 Maka Daud membuat perjanjian dengan pemimpin-pemimpin Israel itu. Lalu mereka melantik dia menjadi raja Israel seperti yang telah dijanjikan TUHAN melalui Samuel.
Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David as king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord through means of Samuel.
4 Suatu waktu Raja Daud dengan seluruh tentara Israel pergi menyerang kota Yerusalem. Pada waktu itu kota itu bernama Yebus, dan didiami oleh orang Yebus, penduduk asli kota itu.
And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; and there were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Orang-orang Yebus telah berkata kepada Daud, bahwa ia tidak mungkin dapat memasuki kota mereka itu. Tetapi Daud berhasil merebut benteng mereka yang bernama Sion. Pada waktu itu Daud telah mengumumkan kepada anak buahnya bahwa orang pertama yang membunuh seorang Yebus akan menjadi panglima. Maka karena Yoablah yang pertama-tama menyerbu orang Yebus, ia diangkat menjadi panglima. (Ibu Yoab bernama Zeruya.) Setelah merebut benteng Sion, Daud tinggal di situ. Itu sebabnya sejak waktu itu benteng itu disebut "Kota Daud".
And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion, the same is the City of David.
And David said, Whosoever doth smite the Jebusites at first shall be head and chief. Then did Joab the son of Zeruyah go up at first, and became head-man.
And David dwelt in the castle: therefore they called it, “The City of David.”
8 Daud membangun kembali kota itu mulai di tempat yang ditinggikan dengan tanah di sebelah timur bukit; kemudian pembangunan itu diteruskan oleh Yoab sampai selesai.
And he built the city round about, even from the Millo as far as the surrounding district, and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 Daud makin lama makin kuat, karena TUHAN Mahakuasa menolong dia.
And David want on, and became greater and greater, and the lord of hosts was with him.
10 Inilah nama-nama para perwira Daud yang termasyhur. Bersama seluruh rakyat Israel, mereka telah berjuang supaya Daud menjadi raja seperti yang telah dijanjikan oleh TUHAN. Dan mereka terus mendukung pemerintahannya.
These also are the principals of the mighty men whom David had, who held firmly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 Perwira yang pertama ialah Yasobam orang Hakhmoni, ia pemimpin "Triwira". Pernah dalam satu pertempuran ia melawan 300 orang dan menewaskan mereka semua dengan tombaknya.
And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashoh'am, the son of Chachmoni, the chief of the captains, who lifted up his spear against three hundred slain at one time.
12 Orang kedua dalam Triwira itu ialah Eleazar anak Dodo dari kaum Ahohi.
And after him was El'asar the son of Dodo, the Achochite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Dalam pertempuran di Pas-Damim ia berjuang di pihak Daud melawan orang Filistin. Ketika tentara Israel mulai melarikan diri, dia dan anak buahnya bertahan di tengah-tengah sebuah ladang gandum dan bertempur melawan orang-orang Filistin itu. Lalu TUHAN memberikan kemenangan yang besar kepadanya.
He was with David at Pass-dammim, and the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley; and the people had fled from before the Philistines.
And they placed themselves in the midst of that piece [of ground], and they delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord helped [them] with a great victory.
15 Pada suatu hari 3 orang dari 30 perwira Daud yang terkemuka, pergi menemui Daud di suatu tempat yang berkubu di sebuah gunung batu dekat Gua Adulam. Pada waktu itu orang Filistin berkemah di Lembah Refaim, dan sepasukan dari mereka menduduki Betlehem.
And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down to the rock to David, to the cave of 'Adullam; and the camp of the Philistines was pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
And David was then in the strong-hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then at Beth-lechem.
17 Daud rindu akan kampung halamannya itu dan berkata, "Ah, sekiranya aku diberi minum air dari sumur dekat pintu gerbang di Betlehem."
And David longed, and said, Oh that some one would bring me water to drink out of the well of Beth-lechem, which is by the gate!
18 Mendengar itu, ketiga perwira itu menerobos perkemahan orang Filistin lalu menimba air dari sumur itu, kemudian membawanya kepada Daud. Tetapi Daud tidak mau meminumnya, malahan mencurahkannya sebagai persembahan kepada TUHAN.
And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lechem, which was by the gate, and carried it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
19 Ia berkata, "Demi Allah, saya tidak bisa minum air ini! Kalau saya meminumnya, seolah-olah saya minum darah orang-orang yang telah mempertaruhkan nyawa mereka!" Jadi Daud sama sekali tidak mau minum air itu. Itulah jasa-jasa ketiga pejuang yang perkasa itu.
And he said, Far be it from me, before my God, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that went at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives did they bring it; and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
20 Ketiga puluh perwira yang termasyhur itu dinamakan juga "Tridasawira". Mereka dipimpin oleh Abisai adik Yoab. Pernah ia menewaskan 300 orang dengan tombaknya, dan karena itu ia menjadi termasyhur. Tetapi ia tidak sehebat Triwira itu.
And Abshai the brother of Joab was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
Of the three, he was more honored than the two, wherefore he became their captain; he nevertheless attained not unto the three [in prowess].
22 Seorang perwira termasyhur yang lain ialah Benaya anak Yoyada, orang Kabzeel. Ia sangat berani. Dua pahlawan besar dari Moab telah dibunuhnya. Pernah pada suatu hari bersalju ia masuk ke dalam sebuah lubang dan membunuh seekor singa di situ.
Banayah the son of Jehoyada', the son of a valiant man, great in many acts, of Kah-zeel: he it was that smote the two lion-like heroes of Moab; he also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed.
23 Ia pernah juga membunuh seorang Mesir yang besar perawakannya; tingginya lebih dari dua meter. Orang itu bersenjatakan tombak yang sangat besar, tapi Benaya menghadapinya hanya dengan pentung. Tombak yang ada di tangan orang Mesir itu direbutnya lalu dipakainya untuk membunuh orang itu.
And he smote an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 Itulah jasa-jasa Benaya, seorang dari Tridasawira.
These things did Benayah the son of Jehoyada'; and he had a name among the mighty men.
25 Dalam kelompok itu, Benayalah yang terkemuka, tetapi ia tidak sehebat Triwira. Daud mengangkat dia menjadi kepala pengawal pribadinya.
Behold, he was indeed more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to the first three. And David appointed him over his private council.
26 Berikut ini adalah perwira-perwira lain yang termasyhur: Asael adik Yoab, Elhanan anak Dodo orang Betlehem, Samot orang Harod, Heles orang Peloni, Ira anak Ikes orang Tekoa, Abiezer orang Anatot, Sibkhai orang Husa, Ilai orang Ahohi, Maharai orang Netofa, Heled anak Baana orang Netofa, Itai anak Ribai orang Gibea di wilayah suku Benyamin, Benaya orang Piraton, Hurai orang lembah-lembah Gaas, Abiel orang Araba, Azmawet orang Bahurim, Elyahba orang Saalbon, Hasyem orang Gizon, Yonatan anak Sage orang Harari, Ahiam anak Sakhar orang Harari, Elifal anak Ur, Hefer orang Mekherati, Ahia orang Peloni, Hezrai orang Karmel, Naarai anak Ezbai, Yoel saudara Natan, Mibhar anak Hagri, Zelek orang Amon, Naharai orang Beerot, pembawa senjata Yoab, Ira dan Gareb orang Yetri, Uria orang Het, Zabad anak Ahlai, Adina anak Siza (salah seorang tokoh dalam suku Ruben yang, mempunyai pasukan 30 orang), Hanan anak Maakha, Yosafat orang Mitni, Uzia orang Asytarot, Syama dan Yeiel, anak-anak Hotam, orang Aroer, Yediael dan Yoha, anak-anak Simri, orang Tizi, Eliel orang Mahawim, Yeribai dan Yosawya, anak-anak Elnaam, Yitma orang Moab, Eliel, Obed dan Yaasiel orang Mezobaya.
And the mighty men of the armies were, 'Assahel the brother of Joab, Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lechem.
Shammoth the Harorite, Chelez the Pelonite,
'Ira the son of 'Ikkesh the Theko'ite, Abi'ezer the 'Antothite,
Sibbechai the Chushathite, 'Ilai the Achochite,
Maharai the Netophathite, Cheled the son of Ba'anah the Netophathite,
Ithai the son of Ribai of Gib'ah, of the children of 'Benjamin, Benayah the Pir'athonite.
Churai of the Nachale-Ga'ash, Abiel the 'Arbathite,
'Azmaveth the Bacharumite, Elyachba the Sha'albonite,
Bnai-hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite.
Achiam the son of Sachar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
Chepher the Mecherathite, Achiyah the Pelonite.
Chezro the Carmelite, Na'arai the son of Ezbai,
Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibchar the son of Hagri,
Zelek the 'Ammonite, Nachrai the Berothite, the armor bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
'Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
Uriyah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Achlai,
'Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and with him were thirty [men].
Chanan the son of Ma'achah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite.
'Uzziya the 'Ashterathite, Shama' and Je'iel the sons of Chothan the 'Aro'erite,
Jedi'ael the son of Shimri, and Jocha his brother, the Thizite,
Eliel the Machavite, and Jerihal, and Joshavyah, the son of Elna'am, and Yithmah the Moabite,
Eliel, and 'Obed, and Ja'assiel the Mezobayite.
