< Mateo 4 >

1 Kalpasanna, inturong ti Espiritu ti Dios ni Jesus idiay let-ang ket pinadas ti diablo a sulisogen isuna.
Then Jesus was led up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil.
2 Idi nalpasen ti uppat a pulo nga aldaw ken uppat a pulo a rabii panagayunarna, nabisinan isuna.
And, after he had fasted for forty days and forty nights, he became hungry.
3 Immay ti mannulisog ket kinunana kenkuana, “No sika ti Anak ti Dios, bilinem dagitoy a batbato nga agbalin a tinapay.”
The Tempter came to him, and said: “If you are God’s Son, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”
4 Ngem simmungbat ni Jesus ket kinunana kenkuana, “Naisurat, 'Saan nga agbiag ti tao iti tinapay laeng, ngem babaen iti tunggal sao a rummuar iti ngiwat ti Dios.'”
But Jesus answered, “Scripture says – ‘It is not on bread alone that a person is to live, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
5 Kalpasanna, impan isuna ti diablo idiay nasantoan a siudad ken impanna iti tuktok ti kangangatoan a paset ti pasdek ti templo,
Then the devil took him to the Holy City, and, placing him on the parapet of the temple, said to him,
6 ket kinunana kenkuana, “No sika ti Anak ti Dios, tumappuakka man, ta naisurat, 'Bilinennanto dagiti anghelna a mangaywan kenka,' ket, 'Tapayaendakanto kadagiti imada, tapno saan a madunor ti sakam iti bato.'”
“If you are God’s Son, throw yourself down, for scripture says – ‘He will give his angels commands about you, and on their hands they will lift you up, so you do not even strike your foot against a stone.’”
7 Kinuna ni Jesus kenkuana, “Naisurat met laeng, 'Nasken a saanmo a suoten ti Apo a Diosmo.'”
“Scripture also says,” answered Jesus, “‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”
8 Inyuli manen ti diablo isuna iti nangato a lugar ket impakitana kenkuana amin dagiti pagarian iti lubong ken ti amin a kinapintasda.
The third time, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain, and, showing him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor, said to him:
9 Kinunana kenkuana, “Itedkonto amin kenka dagitoy a banbanag, no agparintumeng ken agrukbabka kaniak.”
“All these I will give you, if you will fall at my feet and worship me.”
10 Ket kinuna ni Jesus kenkuana, “Pumanawka ditoy, Satanas! Ta naisurat, ‘Nasken nga agrukbabka iti Apo a Diosmo, ken isuna laeng ti rumbeng a pagserbiam.'”
Then Jesus said to him, “Go away, Satan! For scripture says – ‘You must worship the Lord your God, and worship him only.’”
11 Ket pinanawan ti diablo isuna, ket pagammoan, immay dagiti anghel ket nagserbida kenkuana.
Then the devil left him alone, and angels came and helped him.
12 Ita, idi nangngeg ni Jesus a natiliw ni Juan, nagsubli isuna idiay Galilea.
When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee.
13 Pimmanaw isuna idiay Nazaret ket napan ken nagnaed idiay Capernaum, nga adda iti igid ti baybay ti Galilea, iti masakupan ti Zabulon ken Neftali.
Afterward, leaving Nazareth, he went and settled at Capernaum, which is by the side of the sea, within the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali;
14 Napasamak daytoy tapno matungpal ti kinuna ni Isaias a profeta,
in fulfillment of these words in the prophet Isaiah –
15 “Ti daga ti Zabulon ken ti daga ti Neftali, agturong iti baybay, iti ballasiw ti Karayan Jordan, Galilea dagiti Hentil!
‘The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the land of the Road by the sea, and beyond the Jordan, with Galilee of the Gentiles –
16 Dagiti tattao a nakatugaw iti kasipngetan ket nakakitada iti lawag a naindaklan, ket kadagiti nakatugaw iti rehion ken anniniwan ni patay, adda lawag a nangsilnag kadakuada.”
The people who were living in darkness have seen a great light, and, for those who were living in the shadow-land of death, a light has dawned!’
17 Manipud iti dayta a tiempo nangrugi ni Jesus a nangasaba ket kunana, “Agbabawikayo, ta immasidegen ti pagarian ti langit.”
At that time Jesus began to proclaim – “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
18 Kabayatan a magmagna isuna iti igid ti baybay ti Galilea, nakakita isuna iti agkabsat, ni Simon a maawagan a Pedro, ken ti kabsatna a ni Andres, a mangiwaywayat iti iketda iti baybay, ta mangngalapda.
As Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers – Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew – casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19 Kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Umaykayo, surotendak, ket pagbalinenkayo a mangngalap iti tattao.”
“Come and follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will teach you to fish for people.”
20 Dagus a pinanawanda dagiti iketda ken simmurotda kenkuana.
The two men left their nets at once and followed him.
21 Iti panagtultuloy ni Jesus manipud sadiay nakitana ti sabali pay nga agkabsat, ni Santiago nga anak ni Zebedeo, ken Juan a kabsatna. Addada iti bangkada a mangtartarimaan kadagiti iketda a kaduada ni Zebedeo nga amada. Inayabanna ida,
Going further on, he saw two other men who were also brothers, James, Zebedee’s son, and his brother John, in their boat with their father, mending their nets. Jesus called them,
22 ket dagus a pinanawanda ti bangka ken ti amada ket simmurotda kenkuana.
and they at once left their boat and their father, and followed him.
23 Sinursor ni Jesus ti amin a paset ti Galilea, a nangisursuro kadagiti sinagogada, inkaskasabana ti ebanghelio ti pagarian, ken nangag-agas iti tunggal kita ti sakit ken an-annayen dagiti tattao.
Jesus went all through Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people;
24 Nagwaras ti damag maipanggep kenkuana iti amin a paset ti Siria, ket impan dagiti tattao kenkuana amin dagiti masakit, agsagsagaba iti nadumaduma saksakit ken ut-ot, dagiti linuganan dagiti demonio, ken dagiti agkissiw ken dagiti paralitiko. Pinaimbag ida ni Jesus.
and his fame spread all through Syria. They brought to him all who were ill with any form of disease, or who were suffering pain – any who were either possessed by demons, or were lunatic, or paralyzed; and he cured them.
25 Nakaad-adu a tattao ti simmurot kenkuana manipud iti Galilea, Decapolis, Jerusalem, ken Judea, ken manipud iti ballasiw ti Jordan.
He was followed by large crowds from Galilee, the district of the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.
