< Jonas 3 >

1 Nangngeg ni Jonas ti sao ni Yahweh iti maikadua a gundaway, kinunana,
And the word of the Lord came to Jonas the second time, saying,
2 “Agrubbuatka, mapanka idiay Nineve, ti dakkel a siudad ket iwaragawagmo sadiay ti mensahe nga imbilinko kenka.”
Rise, go to Nineve, the great city, and preach in it according to the former preaching which I spoke to you of.
3 Nagrubbuat ngarud ni Jonas ket napan idiay Nineve kas panagtulnog iti sao ni Yahweh. Ita, ti Nineve ket nalawa unay a siudad, maysa a lugar a daliasaten iti tallo nga aldaw.
And Jonas arose, and went to Nineve, as the Lord had spoken. Now Nineve was an exceeding great city, of about three days' journey.
4 Rinugian ni Jonas a serreken ti siudad ket kalpasan ti maysa nga aldaw a pannagnana, nagpukkaw ket kinunana, “Uppat a pulo nga aldaw manipud ita, madadaelto ti Nineve.”
And Jonas began to enter into the city about a day's journey, and he proclaimed, and said, Yet three days, and Nineve shall be overthrown.
5 Namati iti Dios dagiti tattao ti Nineve ket inwaragawagda ti panagayunar. Nagkawesda amin iti nakersang a lupot, manipud iti katatan-okan agingga iti kanunumoan kadakuada.
And the men of Nineve believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloths, from the greatest of them to the least of them.
6 Nakadanon a dagus ti damag iti ari ti Nineve. Timmakder isuna iti tronona, inussobna ti pagan-anayna, nagkawes iti nakersang a lupot ket nagtugaw iti dapo.
And the word reached the king of Nineve, and he arose from off his throne, and took off his raiment from him, and put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes.
7 Nangiwaragawag isuna iti pakaammo a nagkuna, “Babaen iti turay ti ari ken dagiti opisialna iti Nineve, awan kadagiti tattao wenno ayup, wenno kadagiti taraken ti mangraman iti aniaman a banag ditoy Nineve. Saanyo ida a palubosan a mangan wenno uminom ti danum.
And proclamation was made, and it was commanded in Nineve by the king an by his great men, saying, Let not men, or cattle, or oxen, or sheep, taste [any thing], nor feed, nor drink water.
8 Ngem masapul nga agabbong iti nakersang a lupot dagiti tao ken ayup ket masapul nga ipukkawda ti umawag iti Dios. Masapul a tallikudan ti tunggal maysa ti dakes a kababalinna ken ti kinaranggas dagiti imana.
So men and cattle were clothed with sackcloths, and cried earnestly to God; and they turned every one from their evil way, and from the iniquity that was in their hands, saying,
9 Siasino ti makaammo? Mabalin a maasi ti Dios ket baliwanna ti pangeddengna ket saanen nga agpungtot tapno saantayo a matay.”
Who knows if God will repent, and turn from his fierce anger, and [so] we shall not perish?
10 Nakita ti Dios ti inaramidda, a tinallikodanda dagiti dakes a kababalinda. Isu a binaliwan ti Dios ti pangngeddengna maipanggep iti panangdusa nga imbagana nga aramidenna kadakuada ket saannan nga inaramid daytoy.
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil ways; and God repented of the evil which he had said he would do to them; and he did [it] not.
