< Jeremias 4 >

1 No agsublikayo, Israel—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— siak ti rumbeng a pagsublianyo. No ikkatenyo dagiti makarimon a banbanagyo iti imatangko, ken saandak manen a tallikudan,
“If you will return, Israel,” says Yahweh, “if you will return to me, and if you will put away your abominations out of my sight; then you will not be removed;
2 ken no isapatayo, ‘adda kenni Yahweh ti kinapudno, hustisia, ken kinalinteg,' kiddawento dagiti nasion ti bendisionko, ken idayawdakto.
and you will swear, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations will bless themselves in him, and they will glory in him.”
3 Ta kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh iti tunggal maysa a tattao iti Juda ken Jerusalem. ‘Aradwenyo ti bukodyo a daga, ken saankayo nga agmula kadagiti kasisiitan.
For Yahweh says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem, “Break up your fallow ground, and don’t sow among thorns.
4 Makugitkayo koma kenni Yahweh ken ikkatenyo dagiti akin-rabaw a kudil dagiti pusoyo, lallaki ti Juda ken dakayo nga agnanaed iti Jerusalem, ta no saan, gumil-ayabto a kasla apuy ti rungsotko ken manguram nga awan ti uray siasino a makaiddep iti daytoy. Mapasamakto daytoy gapu iti kinadakes dagiti aramidyo.
Circumcise yourselves to Yahweh, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
5 Ipakaammoyo idiay Juda ken ipangngegyo iti Jerusalem. Kunaenyo, “Pagunienyo ti tangguyob iti daga.” Iwaragawagyo, “Aguummongkayo.” Mapantayo kadagiti nasarikedkedan a siudad.”
Declare in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, ‘Blow the trumpet in the land!’ Cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves! Let’s go into the fortified cities!’
6 Itag-ayyo ti bandera a pagilasinan ket iturongyo idiay Sion, ken tumaraykayo tapno natalgedkayo! Saankayo nga agtalinaed, ta mangiyegak iti didigra manipud amianan ken dakkel a pannakarebba.
Set up a standard toward Zion. Flee for safety! Don’t wait; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.”
7 Rummuarto iti maysa a leon manipud kasamekan, ken agsagsaganan ti maysa a mangdadaelto kadagiti nasion. Pumanaw isuna iti lugar nga ayanna tapno mangiyeg ti nakaal-alinggaget a pasamak iti dagayo, dadaelenna dagiti siudadyo, ket awanto ti agnaed.
A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations. He is on his way. He has gone out from his place, to make your land desolate, that your cities be laid waste, without inhabitant.
8 Gapu iti daytoy, balkotenyo ti bagbagiyo iti nakersang a lupot, agdung-aw ken aganug-ogkayo. Ta saan a timmalikud kadatayo ti rungsot ti pungtot ni Yahweh.
For this, clothe yourself with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of Yahweh hasn’t turned back from us.
9 Ket mapasamakto iti dayta nga aldaw, —kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh— a matayto ti puso dagiti ari ken dagiti opisialna. Makigtotto dagiti padi, ken mapabutnganto dagiti profeta.
“It will happen at that day,” says Yahweh, “that the heart of the king will perish, along with the heart of the princes. The priests will be astonished, and the prophets will wonder.”
10 Isu a kinunak, “O! Yahweh nga Apo. Pudno nga inallilawmo a naminpinsan dagitoy a tattao ken ti Jerusalem babaen iti panangibagam, ‘Maaddaankayonto iti kappia.' Idinto a silalayat ti kampilan a maibusor iti biagda.
Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Surely you have greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘You will have peace;’ whereas the sword reaches to the heart.”
11 Iti dayta a tiempo maibaganto ti kastoy kadagitoy a tattao ken iti Jerusalem “Ti nabara nga angin manipud kadagiti patad ti let-ang ket agturongto kadagiti annak a babbai dagiti tattaok. Saannanto ida a taepan wenno dalusan.
At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind blows from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse.
12 Addanto iti angin a napigpigsa nga adayo ngem iti dayta nga angin nga umay babaen ti bilinko, ket iyulogkon ti panangukomko kadakuada.
A full wind from these will come for me. Now I will also utter judgments against them.”
13 Kitaenyo, ruma-ut isuna a kasla ulep, ken kasla bagyo dagiti karwahena. Naparpartak dagiti kabaliona ngem kadagiti agila. Asitayo pay, ta madadaeltayonto!
Behold, he will come up as clouds, and his chariots will be as the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined.
14 O Jerusalem, dalusanyo dagiti pusoyo manipud iti kinadangkes, tapno maisalakankayo. Kaanonto pay ti panagsardengyo iti panangpanpanunotyo no kasano ti agbasol?
Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?
15 Ta addanto timek a mangiyeg iti damag manipud Dan, ken mangngeg ti um-umay a didigra manipud kadagiti kabanbantayan ti Efraim.
For a voice declares from Dan, and publishes evil from the hills of Ephraim:
16 Bay-am a panunoten dagiti nasion ti maipanggep iti daytoy: Denggem, ibagam iti Jerusalem nga um-umayen dagiti manglakub manipud iti adayu a daga a mangipukkaw iti gubat a maibusor kadagiti siudad ti Juda.
“Tell the nations, behold, publish against Jerusalem, ‘Watchers come from a far country, and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.
17 Maiyarigdanto kadagiti agwanwanawan iti naaradon a talon a nangpalawlaw iti daytoy, agsipud ta nagsukir daytoy kaniak—kastoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh—
As keepers of a field, they are against her all around, because she has been rebellious against me,’” says Yahweh.
18 ken ti kababalin ken ar-aramidmo ti makagapu a mapasamak dagitoy kenka. Kastoyto ti dusam. Anian a nakaam-amakto daytoy! Dangrannanto ti mismo a pusom.
“Your way and your doings have brought these things to you. This is your wickedness, for it is bitter, for it reaches to your heart.”
19 O pusok! O pusok! Agsansanaang daytoy pusok. Mariribukan daytoy pusok. Saanak a makatalna ta mangmangngegko ti uni ti tangguyob, ti pakdaar ti gubat.
My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart! My heart trembles within me. I can’t hold my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
20 Pannakarebba ken pannakarebba ti maiwarwaragawag, ta kellaat a nadadael ti entero a daga. Naminpinsan a dinadaelda ti tabernakulok ken ti toldak.
Destruction on destruction is decreed, for the whole land is laid waste. Suddenly my tents are destroyed, and my curtains gone in a moment.
21 Kasano pay ngata kabayag a kitkitaek ti bandera? Mangngegkonto kadi pay ti uni ti tangguyob?
How long will I see the standard and hear the sound of the trumpet?
22 Ta iti kinamaag dagiti tattaok—saandak nga am-ammo. Nakunengda a tattao ken awan pannakaawatda. Nalaingda no maipapan iti kinadakes, ngem awan ammoda nga agaramid iti kina-imbag.
“For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”
23 Nakitak ti daga, ket anian! Awan langlangana ken unga-ong daytoy. Ta awan silaw dagiti langit.
I saw the earth and, behold, it was waste and void, and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 Kimmitaak kadagiti kabanbantayan. Nakitak nga agkinkintayeg ken aggungungon dagiti turod.
I saw the mountains, and behold, they trembled, and all the hills moved back and forth.
25 Kimmitaak. Adtoy, awan uray maysa a tao, ken timmayab amin a billit ti langit.
I saw, and behold, there was no man, and all the birds of the sky had fled.
26 Kimmitaak. Nakitak a nagbalin a let-ang ti minuyongan ken narba amin dagiti siudad iti sangoanan ni Yahweh, gapu iti rungsot ti pungtotna.”
I saw, and behold, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of Yahweh, before his fierce anger.
27 Kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh, “Madadaelto ti daga, ngem saankonto a dadaelen a naan-anay daytoy.
For Yahweh says, “The whole land will be a desolation; yet I will not make a full end.
28 Gapu iti daytoy, agladingitto ti daga, ken agsipngetto ti tangatang. Ta impakaammokon ti panggepko; ipatungpalko; Saanakto nga agsanud a mangipatungpal kadagitoy.
For this the earth will mourn, and the heavens above be black, because I have spoken it. I have planned it, and I have not repented, neither will I turn back from it.”
29 Itarayanto ti tunggal siudad ti arimpadek dagiti kumakabalio ken dagiti pumapana; tumaraydanto kadagiti kabakiran. Kumalay-atto ti tunggal siudad kadagiti kabatbattoan a luglugar. Mabaybay-anto dagiti siudad, ta awanto ti uray maysa nga agtaeng kadagitoy.
Every city flees for the noise of the horsemen and archers. They go into the thickets and climb up on the rocks. Every city is forsaken, and not a man dwells therein.
30 Ita ta nadadaelkan, ania ti aramidem? Ta uray agkaweska iti nalabbaga a kawes, arkusam ti bagim iti alahas a balitok, ken padakkelem ti matam babaen iti pinta, saandakan a kayat ita dagiti lallaki a nagderrep kenka. Ngem ketdi, kayatda a pukawen ti biagmo.
You, when you are made desolate, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself with scarlet, though you deck yourself with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with makeup, you make yourself beautiful in vain. Your lovers despise you. They seek your life.
31 Isu a mangngegko ti uni ti asug, tuok a kas iti agpasngay iti inauna nga anak, ti timek ti babai nga anak ti Sion. Agang-angsab isuna. Iyukradna dagiti imana, ' Asi-ak pay! Matallimudawak gapu kadagitoy a mammapatay.”'
For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who gives birth to her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, saying, “Woe is me now! For my soul faints before the murderers.”
