< Isaias 31 >

1 Asi pay dagiti sumalog idiay Egipto tapno agpatulong ken dagiti agtalek kadagiti kabalio, ken dagiti agtalek kadagiti karwahe (gapu ta adu dagitoy) ken kadagiti agkabkabalio (gapu ta saan a mabilang dagitoy). Ngem saanda a pakaseknan ti maipapan iti Nasantoan ti Israel, wenno saanda a sapulen ni Yahweh!
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
2 Ngem nasirib isuna, ket idissuornanto ti didigra ken saannanto a baliwan dagiti saona. Ket busurennanto ti balay ti dakes ken dagiti mangtultulong kadagiti agar-aramid iti basol.
Yet he also [is] wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evil-doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
3 Ti Egipto ket tao saan ket a Dios, lasag laeng dagiti kabalioda saan ket nga espiritu. Inton igaw-at ni Yahweh ti imana, dagiti mangtultulong ket maitublakto, ken dagiti matultulongan ket matumbanto; agpadada a mapukaw.
Now the Egyptians [are] men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
4 Kastoy ti kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Kas iti leon, uray ti urbon a leon ket ngerngeranna ti kinemmegna a kanenna, no pukkawan daytoy ti maysa a bunggoy dagiti agpaspastor, saan daytoy nga agbuteng kadagiti timekda, wenno agtaray gapu iti pukkawda; kastanto met ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin inton umulog a makiranget idiay tapaw ti Bantay Sion, iti dayta a turod.
For thus hath the LORD spoken to me, As the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, [he] will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so will the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
5 Kas kadagiti billit a tumaytayab, salaknibanto ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin ti Jerusalem; salakniban ken ispalennanto inton lumabas isuna iti daytoy, ken ikanawana daytoy.
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver [it]; [and] passing over he will preserve [it].
6 Agsublikayo kenkuana, dakayo a tattao ti Israel a timmallikod kenkuana.
Turn ye to [him from] whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
7 Ta iti dayta nga aldaw, tunggal maysa ket ibellengnanto dagiti didiosenna a pirak ken balitok a sibabasol nga inaramid dagiti imayo.
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made to you [for] a sin.
8 Mapasagto ti Asiria babaen iti kampilan; maysa a kampilan a saan nga inaramid ti tao ti mangdadael iti daytoy. Aglibasto daytoy manipud iti kampilan, ket mapilitto dagiti agtutubo daytoy nga agtrabaho iti nadagsen.
Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
9 Mapukawdanto ti amin a talekda gapu iti buteng, ket agbutengto dagiti prisipena iti imatang ti bandera ni Yahweh.” — Daytoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh, a ti apuyna ket adda idiay Sion ken ti urnona ket adda idiay Jerusalem.
And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire [is] in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
