Exodo 28
1 Ayabam ni Aaron a kabsatmo ken dagiti annakna a lallaki— da Nadab, Abiu, Eleasar, ken Itamar, — manipud kadagiti Israelita tapno makapagserbida kaniak a kas papadi.
“Summon your [older] brother Aaron and his sons—Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. ([Set them apart/They are the ones whom I have chosen]) from [the rest of] the Israeli people, in order that they can serve me [by being] priests.
2 Masapul nga iyaramidanyo ni Aaron a kabsatmo kadagiti pagan-anay a naidaton kaniak. Dagitoy a pagan-anay ket para iti dayaw ken rangrangna.
[Tell the people to] make beautiful clothes for Aaron, clothes that are [suitable for one who] has this dignified and sacred [work].
3 Masapul a kasaom dagiti amin tattao a naisangsangayan ti kinalaingda, kadagiti pinunnok iti espiritu iti kinasisrib, tapno maaramidda dagiti pagan-anay ni Aaron tapno mailasin isuna nga agserbi kaniak a kas padi.
Talk to all the skilled workmen, those to whom I have given special ability. [Tell them] to make clothes for Aaron, for him to wear when he is (set apart/dedicated) [to become] a priest to serve me.
4 Dagiti pagan-anay a masapul nga aramidenda ket ti pektoral, ti efod, ti kagay, ti naabel a pagan-anay, ti turbante, ken ti barekes. Masapul nga aramidenda dagitoy a pagan-anay a naidaton kaniak. Maipaayto dagitoy iti kabsatmo a ni Aaron ken kadagiti annakna a lallaki tapno makapagserbida kaniak a kas papadi.
These are the clothes that they are to make: A sacred pouch for Aaron to wear over his chest, a sacred apron, a robe, an embroidered tunic/gown, a (turban/cloth to wrap around his head), and a sash/waistband. These are the clothes that your [older] brother Aaron and his sons must wear as they serve me [by doing the work that] priests do.

The skilled workmen must use fine linen and blue, purple, and red yarn/thread to make these clothes.”
6 Masapul nga aramidenda ti efod iti balitok, iti asul, maris ube, ken nalabaga a de lana ken iti napino a tinali a lino. Masapul nga aramidento daytoy iti nalaing a dumidesenio.
“The skilled workmen must make the sacred apron from fine linen, and skillfully embroider it with blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
7 Masapul nga adda dua a terante a maikapet iti dua nga akin ngato a sulina.
It must have two shoulder straps, to join the front part to the back part.
8 Ti nasayaat iti pannakaabelna a barikes ket masapul a kasla iti efod. Masapul a maaramidto daytoy a maysa a pidaso a kapaset iti epod, a maaramid manipud iti tinali a napino a lino a balitok, asul, maris ube, ken nalabaga.
A carefully-woven sash, which must be made from the same materials as the sacred apron, must be [sewn] onto the sacred apron.
9 Masapul a mangalaka iti dua a bato nga onyx ket ikitikitmo kadagitoy ti nagnagan dagiti sangapulo ket dua nga annak a lallaki ni Israel.
[A skilled workman] must take two [expensive] onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the twelve sons of Jacob.
10 Innem kadagiti nagnaganda ti masapul a maikabil iti maysa a bato, ken innem a nagnagan ti masapul nga adda iti maysa pay a bato, a segun iti urnos ti pannakaiyanak dagiti annak a lallaki.
He must engrave the names in the order in which Jacob’s sons were born. He must engrave six names on one stone, and the other six names on the other stone.
11 Babaen ti panangaramid iti kumikitikit iti bato, a kasla iti pannakaikitikit ti pangtimbre, masapul nga ikitikitmo kadagiti dua a bato ti nagan dagiti sangapulo ket dua nga annak a lallaki ni Israel. Masapul nga isaadmo dagiti bato kadagiti pagsaadan a balitok.
A gem-cutter should engrave these names on the stones. Then he should enclose the stones in (settings/tiny gold frames).
12 Masapul nga ikabilmo dagiti dua a bato kadagiti dua a terante ti epod, tapno agbalin a batbato a mangipalagip kenni Yahweh kadagiti annak a lallaki ni Israel. Awitento ni Aaron dagiti naganda kadagiti dua nga abagana iti sangoanan ni Yahweh a kas mangipalagip kenkuana.
Then he should fasten the stones onto the shoulder straps [of the sacred apron], to represent the twelve Israeli tribes. In that way, Aaron will carry the names of the tribes on his shoulders in order that [I], Yahweh, will never forget [my people] (OR, in order that [he will always] remember that [those tribes belong to] Yahweh).
13 Masapul a mangaramidka kadagiti pagsaadan a balitok,
The settings for the stones must be made from gold.

[Tell them to] make two tiny chains that are braided like cords, and fasten the chains to the settings.”
15 Masapul a mangaramidka iti pectoral a para iti pangeddeng, nga aramiden iti nalaing a trabahador, a maipada iti epod. Maaramid daytoy iti balitok, iti asul, maris ube, ken nalabaga a de lana, ken napino a lino.
“[Tell the skilled workman to] make a sacred pouch for Aaron to wear over his chest. [He will use the things he puts into the pouch] to determine [my answers to the questions he asks]. It must be made of the same materials as the sacred apron, and embroidered in the same way.
16 Daytoy ket masapul a kuadrado. Masapul nga ikulpem iti mamindua ti pectoral. Masapul a maysa a dangan iti kaatiddogna ken maysa a dangan iti kalawana.
It is to be square, and the material must be folded double, so that it is (9 in./22 cm.) on each side.
17 Masapul a kabilanyo daytoy iti uppat nga intar iti napapateg a batbato. Ti umuna nga intar ket masapul nga adda ti maysa a rubi, maysa a topasio ken maysa a garnet.
[The skilled workman must] fasten four rows of valuable stones onto the pouch. In the first row he must put a [red] ruby, a [yellow] topaz, and a [red] garnet.
18 Ti maikadua nga intar ket masapul nga adda ti maysa nga esmeralda, maysa a safiro, ken maysa a diamante.
In the second row he must put a [green] emerald, a [blue] sapphire, and a [clear/white] diamond.
19 Ti maikatlo nga intar ket masapul nga adda ti maysa a jacinto, maysa nga agate ken maysa nga amatista,
In the third row he must put a [red] jacinth, a [white] agate, and a [purple] amethyst.
20 Ti maikapat nga intar ket masapul nga adda ti maysa a berilio, maysa nga onyx, ken maysa a jasper. Masapul a maimontar dagitoy kadagiti pagsaadan a balitok.
In the fourth row he must put a [yellow] beryl, a [red] carnelian, and a [green] jasper.
21 Masapul a maiyurnos dagiti batbato segun kadagiti nagan dagiti sangapulo ket dua nga annak a lallaki ni Israel, tunggal maysa segun iti urnos ti nagan. Masapul a dagitoy ket kasla iti naikitikit iti singsing a pangselio, itaktakder ti tunggal nagan ti maysa kadagiti sangapulo ket dua a tribu.
A gem-cutter should engrave on each of these twelve stones the name of one of the sons of Jacob. These names will represent the twelve Israeli tribes.
22 Masapul a mangaramidka iti rabaw ti pektoral iti kawar a kasla kadagiti tali, a nasallapid a puro a balitok.
The two [chains] that are made from pure gold and braided like cords are for [attaching] the sacred pouch [to the sacred apron].
23 Masapul a mangaramidka iti dua a singsing a balitok ken ikapetmo dagitoy kadagiti dua nga igid ti pektoral.
[The workman must] make two gold rings, and attach them to the upper corners of the sacred pouch.
24 Masapul nga ikapetmo ti dua a kawar a balitok kadagiti dua a suli ti pektoral.
[He must make] two gold cords, and fasten one end of each cord to one of the rings.
25 Masapul nga ikapetmo dagiti bangir a murdong ti dua a nasallapid a kawar iti dua a pagsaadan. Kalpasanna, masapul nga ikapetmo dagitoy iti terante iti abaga ti efod iti sangoananna.
He must fasten the other end of each cord to the two settings [that enclose the stones]. In that way, the sacred pouch will be attached to the shoulder straps of the sacred apron.
26 Masapul a mangaramidka iti dua a singsing a balitok, ken ikabilmo dagitoy kadagiti dua a suli ti pektoral, iti pingir iti abay ti akin uneg nga igidna.
Then [he must] make two more gold rings, and attach them to the lower corners of the sacred pouch, on the inside edges, next to the sacred apron.
27 Masapul a mangaramidka iti dua pay a singsing a balitok, ken masapul nga ikapetmo dagitoy iti baba dagiti dua a terante iti abaga ti sangoanan ti efod, nga asideg iti nakaidaitanna, iti ngato ti nasayaat iti pannakaabelna a barikes ti efod.
[He must] make two more gold rings, and attach them to the lower part of the front of the shoulder straps, near to where [the shoulder straps] are joined [to the sacred apron], just above the carefully-woven sash/waistband.
28 Masapul nga igalutda ti pektoral babaen kadagiti singsingna iti asul a tali kadagiti singsing ti efod, tapno maikapet daytoy iti ngatoen ti naabel a barikes ti efod. Daytoy ket, tapno saan a maikkat ti pektoral manipud iti efod.
The skilled workman must tie the rings on the sacred pouch to the rings on the sacred apron with a blue cord, so that the sacred pouch is above the sash/waistband and does not come loose from the sacred apron.
29 Inton umuneg ni Aaron iti nasantoan a disso, masapul nga awitenna dagiti nagan dagiti sangapulo ket dua nga annak a lallaki ni Israel iti pektoral nga adda iti rabaw ti pusona para iti panangikeddeng. Agserbinto daytoy a kas kankanayon a palagip kenni Yahweh.
In that way, Aaron will have the names of the twelve Israeli tribes in the sacred pouch close to his chest when he enters the Holy Place. This will remind him that I, Yahweh, [will never forget my people] (OR, [that he represents my people when he talks to me, Yahweh]).
30 Masapul nga ikabilmo ti Urim ken ti Tummim iti pektoral para iti panagaramid iti pangeddeng. Put into the sacred pouch the two things that the priest will use to determine my answers to the questions he asks. In that way, they will be close to his chest when he enters [the Holy Place to talk] to me. He will use them to find out what is my will for the Israeli people.”
31 Masapul nga aramidem ti kagay ti efod manipud laeng iti maris ube a lupot.
“[Tell the workmen to] use only blue [cloth] to make the robe that is to be worn underneath the priest’s sacred apron.
32 Masapul nga adda pangiyusokan iti ulo iti tengngana. Masapul a maabel ti aglawlaw iti igid ti pangiyusokan tapno saan a mapigis daytoy. Masapul nga aramidento daytoy ti umaabel.
It is to have an opening through which [the priest] can put his head. They must sew a border around this opening, to keep the material from tearing.
33 Iti akinbaba a gayadan, masapul a mangaramidka kadagiti granada nga asul, maris ube, ken nalabaga a pagdait iti amin nga aglawlawna. Masapul nga adda iti kampanilia a balitok kadagiti nagbabaetanda.
At the lower edge on the robe, they must fasten [decorations that look like] pomegranate fruit. They must be [woven from] blue, purple, and red yarn/thread.
34 Masapul nga adda iti kampanilia a balitok ken granada, maysa a kampanilia a balitok ken granada— inggana a maikkan amin —iti amin a gayadan ti kagay.
Between each of these decorations, they must fasten a tiny gold bell.
35 Ti kagay ket masapul a nakasuot kenni Aaron inton agserbi isuna, tapno ti unina ket mangngeg no umuneg ken no pumanaw isuna iti nasantoan a disso iti sangoanan ni Yahweh. Daytoy ket tapno saan isuna a matay.
When Aaron enters the Holy Place [in the Sacred Tent] to do his work as a priest and when he leaves the Sacred Tent, the bells will ring [as he walks]. As a result, he will not die [because of disobeying my instructions].
36 Masapul a mangaramidka iti pinitpit a puro a balitok ken ikitikitmo iti rabawna daytoy, a kapada kadagiti naikitikit iti pangtimbre, NAIDATON KENNI YAHWEH.
“[Tell them to] make a tiny ornament of pure gold, and tell a (skilled workman/gem-cutter) to engrave on it the words, ‘Dedicated to Yahweh.’
37 Masapul nga ikapetmo daytoy a pinitpit a puro a balitok babaen iti asul a tali iti sango ti turbante.
They should fasten this ornament to the front of the turban by a blue cord.
38 Masapul nga adda daytoy iti muging ni Aaron; masapul nga awitenna a kanayon ti aniaman a basol a mabalin a maipasurot iti pannakaidaton dagiti nasantoan a sagsagut dagiti Israelita kenni Yahweh. Ti turbante ket masapul nga adda a kanayon iti muging ni Aaron tapno awaten ni Yahweh dagiti sagsagutda.
Aaron must always wear this on his forehead. In that way, Aaron himself will show [that he accepts] the guilt if the Israeli people offer [their sacrifices] to me in a way that is not correct, and I, Yahweh, will accept their sacrifices.
39 Masapul nga aramidenyo ti kagay manipud iti napino a lino, ken masapul nga aramidenyo ti turbante manipud iti napino a lino. Masapul a mangaramidkayo pay iti barikes, aramiden iti maysa a bumuburda.
“[Tell them to] weave the long-sleeved tunic/gown from fine linen. Also, they must make from fine linen a turban and a sash/waistband, and embroider [designs on it].
40 Para kadagiti annak a lallaki ni Aaron, masapul a mangaramidkayo kadagiti nagayad a kagay, kadagiti barekes ken kadagiti baredbed dagiti uloda para iti dayawda ken rangrangda.
“[Tell them to] make beautiful long-sleeved tunics/gowns, sashes, and caps for Aaron’s sons. Make ones that will be suitable for those who have this dignified work.
41 Masapul a kawesam ni Aaron a kabsatmo ken dagiti annakna a lallaki a kadduana. Masapul a pulotam ida, konsagraram ida, ken idatonmo ida kaniak, tapno makapagserbida kaniak a kas papadi.
Put these clothes on your [older] brother Aaron and on his sons. Then (set them apart/dedicate them) for this work by anointing them [with olive oil], in order that they may serve me [by being] priests.
42 Masapul nga iyaramidanyo ida iti lino a pagan-anay a pang-uneg tapno maabbongan dagiti nakalemmeng a paset iti bagida, pagan-anay a pang-uneg a mangabbong kadakuada manipud iti siket inggana iti luppoda.
Also [tell them to] make linen undershorts for them. The undershorts should extend from their waists to their thighs, in order that no one can see their private parts.
43 Masapul nga usaren da Aaron ken dagiti annakna a lallaki dagitoy no umunegda iti tabernakulo wenno no umasidegda iti altar tapno agserbida iti nasantoan a disso. Masapul nga aramidenda dagitoy tapno awan iti awitenda a basol ken saanda a matay. Daytoy ket agnanayon a linteg kada Aaron ken kadagiti kaputotanna a sumarsaruno kenkuana.
Aaron and his sons must always wear those undershorts when they enter the Sacred Tent or when they come near to the altar to offer sacrifices in the Holy Place. If they do not obey this command, I will cause them to die. Aaron and all his male descendants must obey this rule forever.”
