< Ester 8 >

1 Iti dayta nga aldaw, inted ni Ari Ahasuero kenni Reyna Ester ti sanikua ni Haman, a kabusor dagiti Judio. Ken nangrugi a nagserbi ni Mardokeo iti ari, ta imbagan ni Ester no ania ti pakainaigan ni Mardokeo kenkuana.
On that day, King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the Jews’ enemy, to Esther the queen. Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was to her.
2 Inuksot ti ari ti singsingna nga adda pagseliona, a binabawina manipud kenni Haman, ket intedna daytoy kenni Mardokeo. Dinutokan ni Ester ni Madokeo a mangimaton iti sanikua ni Haman.
The king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.
3 Kalpasanna, nakisarita manen ni Ester iti ari. Nagpakleb isuna iti daga ken nagsangit kabayatan ti panangpakpakaasina kenkuana tapno gibusenna ti dakes a panggep ni Haman a kaputotan ni Agag, ti gandat nga insaganana a maibusor kadagiti Judio.
Esther spoke yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet and begged him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his plan that he had planned against the Jews.
4 Ket inturong ti ari ti balitok a setro kenni Ester; bimmangon isuna ken nagtakder iti sangoanan ti ari.
Then the king held out to Esther the golden scepter. So Esther arose, and stood before the king.
5 Kinunana, “No makaayo daytoy iti ari, ken no nakasarakak iti pabor iti panagkitam, no ti banag ket agparang a nalinteg iti sangoanan ti ari, ken no makaay-ayoak kadagiti matam, palubosam a maysa a bilin ti maipaulog iti nagan ti ari a mangwaswas kadagiti surat nga insurat ni Haman nga anak a lalaki ni Hamedata nga Agagita, dagiti surat nga insuratna tapno dadaelenna dagiti Judio nga adda kadagiti amin a probinsia ti ari.
She said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight, and the thing seems right to the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces.
6 Ta kasano a maituredko a kitaen ti didigra a mapasamak kadagiti tattaok? Kasano a maibturak a buyaen ti pannakadadael dagiti kakabagiak?”
For how can I endure to see the evil that would come to my people? How can I endure to see the destruction of my relatives?”
7 Kinuna ni Ari Ahasuero kenni Reyna Ester ken kenni Mardokeo a Judio, “Kitaenyo, intedkon kenni Ester ti balay ni Haman, ken imbitinda isuna iti pagbitayan, gapu ta rautenna koma dagiti Judio.
Then King Ahasuerus said to Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, “See, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he laid his hand on the Jews.
8 Mangisuratkayo iti sabali a bilin a maipaulog iti nagan ti ari para kadagiti Judio, ken deppelanyo daytoy iti selio babaen iti singsing ti ari. Ta ti bilin a naipaulog iti nagan ti ari a naisuraten ken nadeppelanen iti selio babaen iti singsing ti ari ket saanen a mabalin a mawaswas.”
Write also to the Jews as it pleases you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring; for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may not be reversed by any man.”
9 Kalpasanna, naayaban dagiti eskriba ti ari iti dayta a kanito, iti maikatallo a bulan, nga isu ti bulan ti Sivan, iti maika-23 nga aldaw ti bulan. Maysa a bilin ti naipaulog iti nagan ti ari ti naisurat a naglaon iti amin nga imbilbilin ni Mardokeo maipapan kadagiti Judio. Naisurat daytoy para kadagiti gobernador dagiti probinsia, kadagiti gobernador ken kadagiti opisial dagiti probinsia a masarakan manipud idiay India agingga idiay Etiopia, kadagiti 127 a probinsia, iti tunggal probinsia a naisurat iti bukodda a panagsurat, ken kadagiti tribu dagiti tattao iti pagsasaoda, ken kadagiti Judio kadagiti bukodda a panagsurat ken pagsasao.
Then the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month Sivan, on the twenty-third day of the month; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the local governors, and the governors and princes of the provinces which are from India to Ethiopia, one hundred twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, and to the Jews in their writing, and in their language.
10 Nangisurat ni Mardokeo iti nagan ni Ari Ahasuero ken dineppelanna daytoy iti singsing ti ari a pagselio. Impatulodna dagiti surat babaen kadagiti para itulod kadagiti surat nga agluglugan kadagiti napapartak a kabalio a nausar para iti panagserbi iti ari, a naiyanak manipud iti kuadra ti ari.
He wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by courier on horseback, riding on royal horses that were bred from swift steeds.
11 Inted ti ari kadagiti Judio nga adda iti tunggal siudad ti pammalubos nga aguummong ken agkaykaysa a mangsalakib kadagiti biagda; a mangkisap, mangpapatay, ken mangdadael iti aniaman nga armada manipud kadagiti aniaman a tattao wenno probinsia a mabalin a mangraut kadakuada, kadagiti annakda, agraman kadagiti babbai, wenno kadagiti mangtakaw kadagiti sanikuada.
In those letters, the king granted the Jews who were in every city to gather themselves together and to defend their lives—to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish all the power of the people and province that would assault them, their little ones and women, and to plunder their possessions,
12 Maipatungpal daytoy kadagiti amin a probinsia ni Ari Ahasuero, iti maika-13 nga aldaw ti maika-12 a bulan, nga isu ti bulan ti Adar.
on one day in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
13 Ti kopia ti bilin a naipaulog iti nagan ti ari ket maited a kas linteg ken maipablaak kadagiti amin a tattao. Masapul a sisasagana dagiti Judio nga agibales kadagiti kabusorda iti dayta nga aldaw.
A copy of the letter, that the decree should be given out in every province, was published to all the peoples, that the Jews should be ready for that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
14 Isu a naglugan dagiti para itulod kadagiti surat kadagiti kabalio ti ari a maus-usar iti panagserbi iti ari. Napanda nga awan taktakna. Ti bilin a naipaulog iti nagan ti ari ket naited met manipud iti palasio idiay Susa.
So the couriers who rode on royal horses went out, hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. The decree was given out in the citadel of Susa.
15 Kalpasanna, pimmanaw ni Mardokeo iti imatang ti ari a nakakawes iti naarian a pagan-anay nga asul ken puraw, nga addaan iti nadayag a korona a balitok ken maris-ube a kagay a naaramid iti kasasayaatan a lino. Ket nagpukkaw ken nagragsak ti siudad ti Susa.
Mordecai went out of the presence of the king in royal clothing of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a robe of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and was glad.
16 Naaddaan dagiti Judio iti lawag ken kinaragsak, rag-o ken dayaw.
The Jews had light, gladness, joy, and honor.
17 Kadagiti amin a probinsia ken kadagiti amin a siudad, sadinoman a nakadanonan ti bilin a naipaulog iti nagan ti ari, adda iti kinaragsak ken rag-o kadagiti Judio, padaya ken piesta. Adu kadagiti nadumaduma a tattao iti daga ti nagbalin a Judio, gapu ta ti panagbuteng dagiti Judio ket nagdissuor kadakuada.
In every province and in every city, wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had gladness, joy, a feast and a holiday. Many from among the peoples of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews had fallen on them.
