< Deuteronomio 9 >

1 Denggem, O Israel, bumallasiwka itan iti Jordan, serrekem ket ikkatem ti karbengan dagiti nasion a napigpigsa ken nabilbileg ngem sika nga agtawid iti daga, ken dagiti siudad a nalawa ken naaladan agingga iti langit,
Listen, people of Israel! Shortly you're going to cross the Jordan to enter and take over the country from nations that are larger and stronger than you, that have large towns with walls that reach up into the sky.
2 dadakkel ken natatayag a tattao, dagiti annak ti Anakim, nga am-ammoyo, ken nangngegyo dagiti tattao a kunada, 'Siasino ti makatakder iti sangoanan dagiti annak a lalaki ni Anak?'
The people are strong and tall; they are the descendants of the Anakim. You all know about them and you have heard the saying, “Who could ever defeat the sons of Anak?”
3 Ammoenyo ngarud ita, a ni Yahweh a Diosyo ket isu ti umun-una kadakayo a kasla umal-alun-on nga apuy; dadaelennanto ida, ket ipababananto ida iti sangoananyo; isu a mapapanaw ken mapukawyo ida a dagus, a kas kinuna ni Yahweh a Diosyo kadakayo.
But you should realize that today the Lord your God is going across ahead of you. He is like a consuming fire; he will destroy them and defeat them ahead of you. You will drive them out and quickly wipe them out, just as the Lord promised you.
4 Saanyo a kunaen iti pusoyo, kalpasan a pagtalawen ida ni Yahweh a Diosyo iti sangoananyo, 'Gapu iti kinalintegko nga impannak ni Yahweh a mangtagikua iti daytoy a daga,' ta gapu iti kinadangkes dagitoy a nasion a pappapanawen ni Yahweh ida manipud iti sangoananyo.
When the Lord your God has driven them out ahead of you, don't think to yourselves, “It's because I'm such a good person that the Lord has brought me here to take over this land.” No, the Lord is driving out these nations ahead of you because of they're so wicked.
5 Saan a gapu iti kinalintegyo wenno kinapudno ti pusoyo a sumsumrekkayo a mangtagikua iti dagada; ngem gapu iti kinadangkes dagitoy a nasion a pappapanawen ida ti Diosmo iti sangoananyo, ken tapno maaramidna a pumudno ti sao nga insapatana kadagiti kapuonanyo a ni Abraham, ni Isaac, ken ni Jacob.
It's not because you're so good or moral that you are going to take over their land. No, it's because of their wickedness that the Lord your God is driving out these nations ahead of you, to keep the promise he made to your fathers—m to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
6 Ammoenyo ngarud, a saan nga it-ited ni Yahweh a Diosyo daytoy nasayaat a daga kadakayo a tagikua-enyo gapu iti kinalintegyo, ta natangken ti uloyo a tattao.
You'd better believe that it's not because you're such good people that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to own, because you are stubborn, hard-hearted people.
7 Lagipenyo ken saanyo a lipaten no kasano a pinaungetyo ni Yahweh a Diosyo idiay let-ang; manipud iti aldaw a pimmanawkayoiti daga ti Egipto agingga a nakadanonkayo iti daytoy a lugar, managrebeldakayo idi kenni Yahweh.
Remember how you provoked the Lord your God in the desert! Don't ever forget it! From the time you left the land of Egypt until you arrived here, you've been constantly rebelling against the Lord.
8 Kasta met idiay Horeb pinaungetyo ni Yahweh, ket umanayen ti unget ni Yahweh a panangdadaelna kadakayo.
At Horeb you provoked the Lord, making him so angry he was about to destroy you.
9 Idi simmang-atak idiay bantay a mangawat kadagiti tapi ti bato, dagiti tapi iti tulag nga inaramid ni Yahweh kadakayo, nagtalinaedak idiay bantay iti uppat a pulo nga aldaw ken uppat a pulo a rabii; saanak a nangan iti tinapay wenno imminom iti danum.
This was when I climbed up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets that recorded agreement the Lord made with you. I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, and I didn't eat or drink anything.
10 Inted ni Yahweh kaniak dagiti dua a tapi ti bato a nasuratan babaen kadagiti ramayna; naisurat kadagitoy dagiti amin a banbanag a kasla met laeng kadagiti amin a sasao nga inwaragawag ni Yahweh kadakayo idiay bantay manipud iti tengnga ti apuy iti aldaw ti panagtataripnong.
The Lord gave me the two stone tablets on which he'd written with his finger everything he'd told you when he spoke from the fire on the mountain when we were all assembled there.
11 Napasamak daytoy iti pagleppasan ti uppat a pulo nga aldaw ken uppat a pulo a rabii nga inted ni Yahweh kaniak dagiti dua a tapi ti bato, dagiti tapi ti tulag.
After forty days and forty nights, the Lord gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the agreement.
12 Kinuna ni Yahweh kaniak, “Tumakderka, bumabaka a dagus manipud ditoy, ta dinadael dagiti tattao nga inruarmo manipud Egipto ti bagbagida. Timmalikodda a dagus iti dalan nga imbilinko kadakuada. Nagaramidda iti nasukog a ladawan para kadagiti bagbagida.'
The Lord told me, “Hurry! Go down immediately, because your people that you led out of Egypt, are committing a terrible sin. They have disobeyed what I told them so quickly! They have made themselves an idol using molten metal.”
13 Maysa pay, nagsao ni Yahweh kaniak ket kinunana, 'Nakitak dagitoy a tattao; natangken ti uloda a tattao.
The Lord also told me, “I have been watching these people, and they really are a stubborn and hard-hearted.
14 Bay-annak koma, tapno madadaelko ida ken pukawek ti naganda iti babaen ti langit, ket mangaramidak kenka iti maysa a nasion a nabilbileg ken dakdakkel ngem isuda.'
Leave me, so that I can destroy them and wipe out their name completely. Then I will turn you into a nation even more powerful and more important than them.”
15 Isu a nagsubliak ket simmalogak manipud iti bantay, ket umap-apuy ti bantay. Adda kadagiti imak dagiti dua a tapi ti tulag.
I went back down the mountain while it was still on fire, carrying the two tablets of the agreement.
16 Kimmitaak, ket, adtoy, nagbasolkayo kenni Yahweh a Diosyo. Nangsukogkayo iti baka para kadagiti bagbagiyo. Timmallikodkayo iti dalan nga imbilin ni Yahweh kadakayo.
Then I saw how much you had sinned against the Lord your God by making for yourselves a molten calf. You had disobeyed what the Lord had told you so quickly.
17 Innalak dagiti dua a tapi ket impuruakko manipud kadagiti imak. Binurakko dagitoy iti sangoanan dagiti matayo.
I threw the two tablets down, smashing them to pieces as you watched.
18 Nagpaklebak manen iti sangoanan ni Yahweh iti uppat a pulo nga aldaw ken uppat a pulo a rabii; saanak a nangan iti tinapay wenno imminom iti danum, gapu kadagiti amin a basbasol a naaramidyo, iti panangaramid iti dayta a dakes iti imatang ni Yahweh, isu a makaunget isuna.
Then I lay down on the ground before the Lord for forty days and forty nights, just as I had before. I didn't eat or drink anything because of all the sins you had committed by doing what was evil in the Lord's sight, making him angry.
19 Ta mabutengak iti pungtot ken ti nakaro a saan a pannakaay-ayo ni Yahweh kadakayo a makaanay a panangdadaelna kadakayo. Ngem dimngeg met ni Yahweh kaniak kadagita a tiempo.
I was terrified at how angry and furious the Lord was with you. He was ready to destroy you. But once again the Lord listened to me.
20 Nakaunget unay ni Yahweh kenni Aaron isu a kayatna a dadaelen isuna; inkararagak met ni Aaron iti dayta met laeng a tiempo.
The Lord was so angry with Aaron he was ready to destroy him, but right then I prayed for Aaron too.
21 Innalak dagiti basolyo, ti baka nga inaramidyo, ket pinuorak, pinang-or ken binurborko iti napino daytoy, agingga a kas kapino ti tapuk. Imbellengko ti tapukna iti waig nga agay-ayus manipud iti bantay.
I took that abominable thing, the calf you'd made, and burned it. Then I crushed it up and ground it into dust, and I threw it into the stream that descended from the mountain.
22 Idiay Tabera, idiay Massa, ken idiay Kibroth Hattaavah, pinagpungtotyo ni Yahweh.
But you went on provoking the Lord at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah.
23 Idi imbaonnakayo ni Yahweh idiay Kades Barnea ket kinunana, 'Sumang-atkayo ket tagikuaenyo ti daga nga intedko kadakayo,' ket sinukiryo dagiti bilbilin ni Yahweh a Diosyo ket saankayo a namati ken dimngeg iti timekna.
When the Lord had you leave Kadesh-barnea, he told you, “Go and take over the country that I've given you.” But you defied the command of the Lord your God. You didn't believe him and you didn't obey him.
24 Sinukiryo ni Yahweh manipud pay iti aldaw a naam-ammokayo.
You have been rebelling against the Lord from the day I first knew you.
25 Isu a nagpaklebak iti sangoanan ni Yahweh iti uppat a pulo nga aldaw ken uppat a pulo a rabii, gapu ta kinunana a dadaelennakayo.
So I lay down on the ground before the Lord for forty days and forty nights, because the Lord had threatened to destroy you.
26 Nagkararagak kenni Yahweh ket kinunak, 'O Yahweh nga Apo, saanmo a dadaelen dagiti tattaom wenno ti tawidmo nga inispalmo babaen iti kinadakkelmo, nga inruarmo manipud Egipto babaen iti nabileg nga imam.
I prayed to the Lord, saying, “Please Lord, God, don't destroy your people that belong to you, the ones whom you rescued by your great ability and led out of Egypt by your power.
27 Lagipem dagiti adipenmo a ni Abraham, ni Isaac ken ni Jacob; saanmo a kitaen ti kinatangken ti ulo dagitoy a tattao, wenno ti kinadangkesda, wenno dagiti basolda,
Please remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Please disregard the stubbornness of this people and their wicked sin.
28 tapno ti daga a nangiruaram kadakami rumbeng nga ibagada, “Gapu ta saan a naipan ida ni Yahweh iti daga nga inkarina kadakuada, ken gapu ta kagurana ida, inruarna ida tapno papatayenna ida idiay let-ang.”
If you don't, those people back in Egypt will say, ‘The Lord brought them out to kill them in the desert because he couldn't take them to the land he'd promised them, and because he hated them.’
29 Nupay kasta, isuda dagiti tattaom ken tawidmo, nga inruarmo babaen iti naindaklan a pigsam ken babaen iti panangipakitam iti pannakabalinmo.'
But they are your people, Lord! They belong to you! You led them out of Egypt by your amazing power and might!”
