< II Samuel 16 >

1 Idi nakaadayo bassit ni David iti tapaw ti turod, sinabat isuna ni Siba nga adipen ni Mefiboset nga addaan iti agasawa a nasilyaan nga asno a nagkarga iti 200 a tinapay, 100 a karaay ti ubas, 100 a kapetpet a bunga ti igos, ken maysa a supot a lalat nga arak.
Now, David, had passed on but a little from the summit, when lo! Ziba, servant of Mephibosheth, met him, —with a couple of asses saddled, and, upon them, two hundred cakes of bread, and one hundred cakes of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a skin of wine.
2 Kinuna iti ari ken Siba, “Apay nga inyegmo dagitoy a banbanag?” Simmungbat ni Siba, “Dagiti asno ket pagluganan dagiti sangakabbalayan ti ari, ti tinapay ken dagiti kankanen a naaramid manipud iti bunga ti igos ket agpaay a kanen dagiti agtutubo a lallaki a kaduam, ken ti arak ket inumen iti siasinoman a matalimudaw idiay laet-ang.”
And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou, by these? And Ziba said—The asses, are for the king’s household, to ride on, and, the bread and the summer fruits, are for the young men to eat, and, the wine, is for drink to such as are faint in the wilderness.
3 Kinuna ti ari, “Sadino ti ayan iti apoko ti apom?” Simmungbat ni Siba iti ari, “Nagbati isuna idiay Jerusalem, ta kunana, 'Ita nga aldaw, isubli iti balay ti Israel ti pagarian ti amak kaniak.'”
Then said the king, And where is thy lord’s son? And Ziba said unto the king—Lo! abiding in Jerusalem, for he said, To-day, will the house of Israel, restore unto me, the kingdom of my father.
4 Ket kinuna ti ari kenni Siba, “Adtoy, kukuamon ita dagiti amin a kukua ni Mefiboset.” Simmungbat ni Siba, “Agrukbabak a sipapakumbaba kenka, apok nga ari. Makasarakak koma iti pabor iti imatangmo.”
Then said the king unto Ziba, Lo! thine, is all that pertained to Mephibosheth. And Ziba said—I have done homage, that I might find favour in thine eyes, my lord O king.
5 Idi nakadanon ni David idiay Bahurim, rimmuar sadiay ti maysa a lalaki a nagtaud iti puli ni Saul, ti nagana ket Simei a putot a lalaki ni Gera. Rimmuar isuna nga agilunlunod bayat iti pannagnana.
And, when King David had come as far as Bahurim, lo! from thence a man coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, whose name, was Shimei son of Gera, coming out and cursing as he came.
6 Binatubatona ni David ken dagiti amin nga opisyal iti ari, iti laksid ti kaadda ti armada ken dagiti guardia nga adda iti kannawan ken kannigid iti ari.
And he pelted, with stones, David and all the servants of King David, —all the people, and all the mighty men, being on his right hand and on his left.
7 Nagpukpukaw a nagilunlunod ni Simei, “Umadayoka, pumanawka ditoy, sika a kriminal, sika a mammapatay!
And, thus, said Shimei, when he cursed, —Out! Out! thou man of bloodshed, and man of the Abandoned One!
8 Binalesnakayo amin ni Yahweh gapu iti dara ti pamilia ni Saul, a makinsaad iti pagturturayam. Impaiama ni Yahweh ti pagarian kenni Absalom nga anakmo. Ket ita nadadaelka gapu ta maysaka a mammapatay a tao.”
Yahweh, hath brought back upon thee, all the shed-blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned, and Yahweh hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absolom thy son, —and, here thou art, in thy ruin, for that, a man of bloodshed, thou art.
9 Ket kinuna ni Abisai a putot a lalaki ni Zeruyas iti ari, “Apay koma ngay nga idadanes daytoy a natay nga aso ti apok nga ari? Pangngaasim ta palubosannak ta innak putden ti ulona.”
Then said Abishai, son of Zeruiah, unto the king—Wherefore should this dead dog curse my lord the king? I pray thee, let me cross over and take off his head.
10 Ngem kinuna ti ari, “Ania koma ti pakibiangak kadakayo, a putot ni Zeruyas? Nalabit nga ilunlunodnak gapu ta imbaga ni Yahweh kenkuana, 'Ilunodmo ni David.’ Siasino ngarud ti makaibaga kenkuana, 'Apay nga ilunlunodmo ti ari?'”
But the king said, What have I in common with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? thus, he curseth, because, Yahweh, hath said unto him—Curse David. Who then can say, Why hast thou done thus?
11 Isu a kinuna ni David kenni Abisai ken kadagiti amin nga adipenna, “Kitaem, ti anakko a lalaki a naipasngay manipud iti bagik, ket kayatna a pukawen ti biagko. Saan kadi nga ad-adda ita a tarigagayan daytoy a Benjamita ti pannakadadaelko? Bay-anyo isuna nga agilunod, ta binilin isuna ni Yahweh a mangaramid iti dayta.
Then said David unto Abishai, and unto all his servants, Lo! my own son who sprang from my body, is seeking my life, —then how much more, now, a Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse, for, Yahweh, hath permitted him.
12 Nalabit a kitaento ni Yahweh ti panagtuok a naipalak-am kaniak, ket supapakannak iti naimbag gapu iti panangilunlunodna kaniak ita nga aldaw.”
It may be, that Yahweh will behold with his eye, —and that Yahweh will return me good, for his cursing this day.
13 Nagdalliasat ngarud ni David ken dagiti tattaona iti dalan, kabayatan nga adda ni Simei idi iti asidegna iti ngato iti bakras ti turod nga agilunlunod ken agipurpuruak iti tapok ken batbato kenkuana bayat ti pannagnana.
And, when David and his men went along in the way, Shimei, was going along on the side of the hill over against him, cursing as he went, pelting him with stones, and throwing dust.
14 Ket nabannog ti ari ken dagiti amin a tattao a kimmuyog kenkuana, ket naginana isuna idi simmardengda ta rabiin.
And the king and all the people that were with him arrived, weary, —and they refreshed themselves there.
15 Kasta met a napan idiay Jerusalem ni Absalom ken dagiti amin a tattao ti Israel a kaduana, kaduana ni Ahitofel.
And, Absolom and all the men of Israel, entered Jerusalem, —and Ahithophel with him.
16 Naaramid idi a ni Cusai nga Arkita a gayyem ni David ket napan kenni Absalom, kinuna ni Cusai kenni Absalom, “Agbiag ti ari! Agbiag ti ari!”
And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, the friend of David, came in unto Absolom, that Hushai said unto Absolom: Long live the king! Long live the king!
17 Kinuna ni Absalom kenni Cusai, “Kastoy kadi ti kinapudnom iti gayyemmo? Apay a saanka a simmurot kenkuana?”
Then said Absolom unto Hushai, Is, this, thy lovingkindness unto thy friend? Wherefore wentest thou not with thy friend?
18 Kinuna ni Cusai kenni Absalom,”Saan! Ngem ketdi, ti tao a pinili ni Yahweh ken dagitoy a tattao ken dagiti amin a lallaki iti Israel, dayta a tao ti pakaibilangakto, ket makipagnaedakto kenkuana.
And Hushai said unto Absolom, Nay! but, whom Yahweh, and all this people, and the men of Israel have chosen, his, will I be, and, with him, will I dwell.
19 Ken, siasino koma ti rumbeng a pagserbiak? Saan kadi a rumbeng nga agserbiak iti imatang iti anakna? Kas iti panagserbik iti imatang iti amam, agserbiak iti imatangmo.”
And, again, whom, should, I serve? Should it not be in presence of his son? as I served in presence of thy father, so, will I continue thy presence.
20 Kinuna ngarud ni Absalom kenni Ahitofel, “Balakadannakami no ania ti rumbeng nga aramidenmi.”
Then said Absolom unto Ahithophel, —Give ye your counsel, what we shall do.
21 Simmungbat ni Ahitofel kenni Absalom, “Inka ket kaiddaem dagiti tagabu nga assawa ni amam nga imbatina a mangaywan iti palasio, ket mangngegto ti amin nga Israel a nagbalinka a kabusor ti amam. Ket pumigsanto dagiti ima dagiti pasurotmo.”
And Ahithophel said unto Absolom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, whom he hath left to keep the house, —so shall all Israel hear that thou hast made thyself odious unto thy father, and the hands of all that are with thee, shall be strengthened.
22 Isu a nangbangonda iti tolda a maipaay kenni Absalom iti tuktok ti palasio, ket iti imatang dagiti amin nga Israel, kinaidda ni Absalom dagiti tagabu nga assawa ni David a kinabbalayna.
And they stretched out for Absolom a tent, upon the house-top, —and Absolom went in unto his father’s concubines, in the sight of all Israel.
23 Ita, dagiti balakad ni Ahitofel kadagidi nga al-aldaw ket kasla nangngeg ti maysa a tao manipud iti mismo a ngiwat ti Dios. Kasta ti panangkita ni David ken Absalom kadagiti amin a balakad ni Ahitofel.
Now, the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God, —so, was all the counsel of Ahithophel, both to David, and also to Absolom.
