1 Ọ bụ ọchịchọ m ka unu ghọta otu m si na-agbasi mgba ike nke ukwuu nʼihi unu, na nʼihi ndị nọ nʼobodo Laodisia, na ndị niile na-enwebeghị ike ịhụ m ihu na ihu.
For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 Ebumnobi m bụ ka a gbaa ha ume, jikọọkwa ha nʼotu nʼịhụnanya, ka ha nweta ụba niile nke nghọta zuruoke na amamihe nke ihe omimi Chineke ahụ bụ Kraịst nʼonwe ya.
that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,
3 Ọ bụkwa nʼime ya ka ụlọakụ ihe zoro ezo niile nke amamihe na ihe ọmụma dị.
in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
4 Ana m ekwu nke a ka onye ọbụla ghara iji ire ụtọ duhie unu ụzọ.
Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.
5 Ọ bụ ezie na anọghị m nʼetiti unu nʼanụ ahụ, ma anọ m nʼetiti unu nʼime mmụọ. Ana m aṅụrị ọṅụ ịhụ mkpebi unu na iguzosi ike nʼokwukwe unu nʼime Kraịst.
For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 Ya mere, dị ka unu si nabata Kraịst Jisọs Onyenwe anyị, na-ebinụ ndụ unu nʼime ya.
As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him,
7 Bụrụnụ ndị mgbọrọgwụ ha mibanyere nʼime ya, ndị a na-ewuli elu nʼime ya, ndị dị ike nʼime okwukwe, dị ka e si kuziere unu, ndị jupụtara na-inye ekele.
rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Christ.
9 Nʼihi na nʼime Kraịst ka izuoke niile nke Chineke bi nʼụdịdị mmadụ.
For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,
10 Ya mere, unu nwere ihe niile nʼime ya, onye bụ isi ndị niile na-achị achị, onye bụkwa isi nʼebe ike na ịchị isi niile dị.
and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
11 Nʼime ya, e biri unu ugwu nke ejighị aka bie, site nʼiwepụ ọdịdị anụ ahụ nʼobibi ugwu nke Kraịst biri.
In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,
12 Mgbe e likọtara unu na ya na baptizim, e sitere nʼọnwụ kpọlite unu na ya site nʼokwukwe ahụ dị nʼike Chineke onye sitere nʼọnwụ kpọlite ya.
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 Mgbe unu bụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ nʼime mmehie unu, na nʼime ebighị ugwu nke anụ ahụ mmehie unu, Chineke mere ka unu soro Kraịst dịrị ndụ ọzọ. Ọ gbaghara anyị mmehie anyị niile,
You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
14 kagbuo iwu niile e dere ede, ya na usoro ya niile nke guzoro imegide anyị. O wezugara ha, kpọgide ha nʼobe.
wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.
15 Mgbe ọ napụrụ ike niile, na ịchị isi niile, ngwa agha ha niile, ọ gbara ha ọtọ nʼihu ọha, igosi mmeri o meriri ha nʼobe.
Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Nʼihi ya, unu ekwela ka onye ọbụla kpee unu ikpe banyere ihe ọbụla unu na-eri, maọbụ ihe unu na-aṅụ, maọbụ ihe banyere ido ụbọchị nsọ, maọbụ ime mmemme ọnwa ọhụrụ maọbụ mmemme ụbọchị izuike.
Let no one therefore judge you in eating or drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,
17 Ihe ndị a niile bụ onyinyo nke ihe ga-abịa nʼọdịnihu ma nke pụtara ihe dị nʼime Kraịst.
which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.
18 Unu ekwela ka onye ọbụla nke ọ na-amasị ife ndị mmụọ ozi maọbụ ibi ndụ umeala nke aghụghọ dị nʼime ya, onye na-ekwu ọtụtụ okwu banyere ọhụ ọ hụrụ, si otu a na-afụli onwe ya elu nʼefu nʼihi echiche nke onwe ya, maa unu ikpe ma napụ unu ihe nrite unu.
Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 Onye na-adịghị ejidesikwa onye bụ isi aka ike, onye a na-esite nʼaka ya na-eme ka ahụ niile, nke nkwonkwo ha na akwara ha niile na-ejikọta nʼotu, too eto dị ka Chineke si chọọ ka ha too.
and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.
20 Ebe ọ bụ na unu esorola Kraịst nwụọ nʼebe ozizi na amamihe niile nke na-achị ụwa nọ, gịnị mekwaranụ unu ji ka na-ebi ndụ dị ka a ga-asị na unu bụ nke ụwa, gịnị mere unu ji na-edo onwe unu nʼokpuru iwu ya dị iche?
If you died with Christ from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,
21 “Ejidela nke a aka, edetụla nke a ire, ebitụkwala nke a aka”?
“Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”
22 Iwu ndị a niile na-ekwu banyere ihe ndị ga-ala nʼiyi mgbe a na-etinye ha nʼọrụ, ha sitere nʼiwu na ozizi nke mmadụ.
(all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
23 Nʼezie, iwu ndị a yiri ihe e ji amamihe guzobe, nʼihi ụzọ o si akwali mmụọ mmadụ nʼife ofufe dị ka ọ chọrọ, na iweda onwe nʼala, na ịta anụ ahụ ahụhụ. Ma ha abaghị uru o bụla iji ha gbochie agụụ ọjọọ nke anụ ahụ.
These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body, but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
