Lúkas 20
1 Dag nokkurn var Jesús að kenna og predika í musterinu. Þá lögðu æðstu prestarnir til atlögu við hann ásamt öðrum trúarleiðtogum og mönnum úr ráðinu.
And it came to pass on one of the days (of those *k) when is teaching He the people in the temple and evangelising came up the (chief priests *NK+o) and the scribes with the elders
2 Þeir kröfðust þess að hann segði þeim með hvaða valdi hann hefði rekið musteriskaupmennina út.
and spoke saying to Him: do tell us by what authority these things You do or who is the [one] having given to You authority this?
3 „Áður en ég svara ætla ég að spyrja ykkur annarrar spurningar, “svaraði hann:
Answering now He said to them; Will ask you I myself also I myself also (one *k) thing, and do tell Me:
4 „Var Jóhannes sendur af Guði eða starfaði hann aðeins í eigin mætti?“
The baptism of John from heaven was it or from men?
5 Þeir ráðguðust um þetta. „Ef við segjum að boðskapur hans hafi verið frá himnum, þá erum við fallnir í gildru, því að þá spyr hann: „Hvers vegna trúðuð þið honum þá ekki?“
And they reasoned among themselves saying that If we shall say: From heaven, He will say; Because of why (therefore *K) not did you believe in him?
6 Ef við segjum hins vegar að Jóhannes hafi ekki verið sendur af Guði, þá ræðst múgurinn á okkur, því allir eru vissir um að hann hafi verið spámaður.“
If however we shall say; From men, the people (all *N+kO) will stone us; persuaded for they are John a prophet to be.
7 Að lokum svöruðu þeir: „Við vitum það ekki.“
And they answered not to know from where.
8 „Þá mun ég ekki heldur svara spurningu ykkar, “sagði Jesús.
And Jesus said to them; Neither I myself tell you by what authority these things I am doing.
9 Jesús sneri sér aftur að fólkinu og sagði því eftirfarandi sögu: „Maður plantaði víngarð, leigði hann nokkrum bændum og fór síðan til útlanda, þar sem hann bjó í nokkur ár.
He began then to the people to speak parable this: A man (certain *NK) planted a vineyard and rented it to farmers and went abroad a time long.
10 Þegar uppskerutíminn kom, sendi hann einn af mönnum sínum til búgarðsins til að sækja sinn hluta uppskerunnar. En leigjendurnir börðu hann og sendu hann tómhentan til baka.
And (in *k) [in the] season he sent to the farmers a servant that from the fruit of the vineyard (they will give *N+kO) to him; But the farmers sent away him having beaten [him] empty-handed.
11 Þá sendi hann annan, en sama sagan endurtók sig: Hann var barinn og auðmýktur og sendur allslaus heim.
And he proceeded another to send a servant; but him him having beaten and having dishonored they sent away empty-handed.
12 Sá þriðji var einnig særður og enn fór á sömu leið. Honum var líka misþyrmt og hann rekinn í burtu.
And he proceeded a third to send; They then also him having wounded they cast out.
13 „Hvað á ég að gera“sagði eigandi víngarðsins við sjálfan sig. „Já, nú veit ég það! Ég sendi son minn, sem ég elska, þeir munu áreiðanlega sýna honum virðingu.“
Said then the master of the vineyard; What shall I do? I will send the son of mine the beloved; perhaps him (having seen *K) they will respect.
14 En þegar leigjendurnir sáu son hans, sögðu þeir: „Nú er tækifærið. Þessi náungi á að erfa allt landið eftir föður sinn. Komum! Drepum hann, og þá eigum við þetta allt.“
Having seen now him the farmers were reasoning among (one another *N+kO) saying; This is the heir; (come *K) let us kill him so that ours may become the inheritance.
15 Þeir drógu hann út fyrir víngarðinn og drápu hann. Hvað haldið þið nú að eigandinn hafi gert?
And having cast forth him outside the vineyard they killed [him]. What therefore will do to them the master of the vineyard?
16 Það skal ég segja ykkur. Hann mun koma og drepa þá alla og leigja öðrum víngarðinn.“„Annað eins og þetta getur aldrei gerst, “mótmæltu áheyrendur.
He will come and he will destroy farmers these and will give the vineyard to others. Having heard [it] then they said; Never would it be!
17 Jesús horfði á þá og sagði: „Hvað á þá Biblían við þegar hún segir: „Steinninn, sem smiðirnir höfnuðu, var gerður að hornsteini.“
But having looked at them He said; What then is that written this: [The] stone which rejected those building, this has become into [the] head of [the] corner’?
18 Og hann bætti við: „Hver sá sem hrasar um þann stein, mun limlestast og þeir sem undir honum verða, munu sundurkremjast.“
Everyone falling on that [very] stone will be broken; on whomever but maybe it may fall, it will grind into powder him.
19 Nú vildu æðstu prestarnir og trúarleiðtogarnir handtaka hann á stundinni, því að þeir skildu að sagan um víngarðsmennina átti við þá. Þeir voru einmitt þessir forhertu leigjendur í sögunni. En þeir óttuðust að fólkið stofnaði til óeirða ef þeir tækju hann. Þeir reyndu því að fá hann til að segja eitthvað sem hægt væri að ákæra hann fyrir til rómverska landstjórans, og fá hann handtekinn.
And sought the scribes and the chief priests to lay on Him hands in that hour and they feared the people; they perceived for that against them He was speaking parable this.
20 Með þetta í huga sendu þeir til hans njósnara sem þóttust sakleysið uppmálað.
And having watched [Him] they sent spies feigning themselves righteous to be, that they may catch Him in talk, (in order *N+kO) to deliver Him to the rule and to the authority of the governor.
21 Þeir sögðu við Jesú: „Herra, við vitum að þú ert heiðarlegur kennari. Þú segir alltaf sannleikann og veitir fræðslu um Guð, en hopar ekki fyrir andstæðingum þínum.
And they questioned Him saying; Teacher, we know that rightly You speak and You teach and not You receive [any] person but on the basis of truth the way of God teach.
22 Segðu okkur nú eitt – er rétt að greiða rómverska keisaranum skatt?“
Is it lawful (for us *N+kO) to Caesar tribute to give or not?
23 Jesús sá við bragðinu og svaraði:
having perceived however of them the craftiness He said to them (why *KO) (me do you test; *K)
24 „Sýnið mér mynt. Hvers mynd og nafn er á henni?“„Rómverska keisarans, “svöruðu þeir.
(do show *N+kO) Me a denarius; Of whom has it [the] image and inscription? (Those *N+KO) And they said; Caesar’s.
25 Þá sagði Jesús: „Greiðið keisaranum allt sem hans er – og gefið Guði það sem Guði ber.“
And He said (to *no) (them; *N+kO) Therefore do give back the [things] of Caesar to Caesar and the [things] of God to God.
26 Bragðið mistókst. Þeir undruðust svar hans og þögðu.
And not they were able to catch Him in (His *NK+o) declaration before the people, and having marveled at the answer of Him they became silent.
27 Þá komu til hans nokkrir saddúkear. Þeir trúa hvorki á líf eftir dauðann né upprisu. Þeir sögðu:
Having approached then some of the Sadducees, the ones (denying *NK+o) a resurrection not being, they questioned Him
28 „Lög Móse segja að deyi maður barnlaus, þá eigi bróðir hans að kvænast ekkjunni og börn þeirra skulu teljast börn látna mannsins og bera nafn hans.
saying; Teacher, Moses wrote to us: if anyone’s brother shall die having a wife and he childless (shall be, *N+KO) that shall take the brother of him the wife and shall raise up seed to the brother of him.
29 Við vitum um sjö bræður. Elsti bróðirinn kvæntist en dó barnlaus.
Seven therefore brothers there were; and the first having taken a wife died childless,
30 Bróðir hans kvæntist þá ekkjunni og dó líka barnlaus.
and (took *K) the second (wife and this died childless *K)
31 Þannig gekk þetta, koll af kolli, þar til allir sjö höfðu átt konuna, en dáið án þess að eiga börn.
and the third took her (likewise *o) likewise then also the seven not did leave children and died.
32 Að lokum dó konan líka.
Finally (now of all *K) also the woman died.
33 Nú spyrjum við: Hverjum þeirra verður hún gift í upprisunni, fyrst hún giftist þeim öllum?“
(The woman *no) therefore in the resurrection, of which of them does she become wife? For the seven had her as wife.
And (answering *k) said to them Jesus; The sons of the age this marry and (are given in marriage, *N+kO) (aiōn g165)
those however having been considered worthy of the age that [one] to obtain and of the resurrection from [the] dead neither marry nor (are given in marriage; *N+k+o) (aiōn g165)
36 og þeir munu aldrei deyja. Þeir eru synir Guðs og eru eins og englarnir. Þeir hafa risið upp frá dauðum til nýs lífs.
(neither *N+kO) for to die any more are they able, like [the] angels for they are, and sons they are of God of the resurrection sons being.
37 Hvers vegna efist þið um upprisuna? Sjálfur Móse talar um hana. Hann lýsir því hvernig Guð birtist honum í brennandi runna. Hann talar um að Guð sé „Guð Abrahams, Guð Ísaks og Guð Jakobs.“
for however are raised the dead, even Moses showed at the bush when he names [the] Lord the God of Abraham and (the *k) God of Isaac and (the *k) God of Jacob.’
38 Ef við segjum að Drottinn sé Guð einhvers manns, þá þýðir það að sá maður er lifandi en ekki dauður! Því Guð er sá sem gefur lífið.“
God now not He is of [the] dead but of [the] living; all for to Him live.
39 „Þetta er vel sagt, herra, “sögðu nokkrir lögvitringar sem þar stóðu.
Answering now some of the scribes said; Teacher, well you have spoken.
40 En fleiri urðu spurningarnar ekki, því þeir þorðu ekki að spyrja hann neins!
no longer no longer (then *N+kO) were they daring to ask Him no [thing].
41 Nú lagði Jesús spurningu fyrir þá og sagði: „Af hverju segið þið að Kristur sé afkomandi Davíðs konungs?
He said then to them; How do they declare the Christ to be David's Son
42 Davíð sagði í Sálmunum: „Guð sagði við minn Drottin: „Sittu mér til hægri handar,
(and *ko) Himself (for *no) David says in [the] book of Psalms: Said (the *ko) Lord to the Lord of me; do sit at [the] right hand of Me
43 þar til ég legg óvini þína að fótum þér.““
until when I may place the enemies of You [as] a footstool of the feet of You.
44 Hvernig getur Kristur verið hvort tveggja í senn, sonur Davíðs og Drottinn Davíðs?“
David therefore Lord Him calls, and how of him son is He?
45 Síðan sneri hann sér að lærisveinum sínum og sagði við þá, svo að fólkið heyrði:
When are listening now all the people He said to the disciples of Him;
46 „Gætið ykkar á þessum fræðimönnum! Þeir njóta þess að ganga um göturnar í fínum fötum og láta fólk hneigja sig fyrir sér. Þeim finnst vænt um heiðurssætin í samkomuhúsum og hátíðarveislum.
do beware of the scribes who are desiring to walk in long robes and loving greetings in the marketplaces and first seats in the synagogues and first places in the banquets,
47 En meðan þeir þylja sínar löngu bænir með helgisvip, eru þeir jafnvel að hugsa upp ráð til að hafa fé af ekkjum. Guð mun því dæma þessa menn til hinnar þyngstu refsingar.“
who devour the houses of widows and as a pretext at great length pray; These will receive more excessive condemnation.
