1 Aszáf tanítása. Figyelj én népem az én tanításomra; hajtsátok füleiteket számnak beszédeire.
A contemplation by Asaph. Hear my teaching, my people. Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 Megnyitom az én számat példabeszédre; rejtett dolgokat szólok a régi időből.
I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old,
3 A miket hallottunk és tudunk; és a miket atyáink beszéltek nékünk,
which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 Nem titkoljuk el azokat az ő fiaiktól; a jövő nemzedéknek is elbeszéljük az Úr dicséretét, hatalmát és csodáit, a melyeket cselekedett.
We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.
5 Mert bizonyságot állított Jákóbban, és törvényt rendelt Izráelben; a melyek felől megparancsolta atyáinknak, hogy megtanítsák azokra fiaikat;
For he established a covenant in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;
6 Hogy megtudja azokat a jövő nemzedék, a fiak, a kik születnek; és felkeljenek és hirdessék azokat fiaiknak;
that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell their children,
7 Hogy Istenbe vessék reménységüket és el ne felejtkezzenek Isten dolgairól, hanem az ő parancsolatait megtartsák.
that they might set their hope in God, and not forget God’s deeds, but keep his commandments,
8 Hogy ne legyenek olyanok, mint apáik: szilaj és makacs nemzedék, olyan nemzedék, a melynek szíve nem volt szilárd, és lelke sem volt hű Isten iránt.
and might not be as their fathers— a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn’t make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
9 Efraim fiai, a fegyveres íjászok hátat fordítottak az ütközet napján;
The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
10 Nem őrizték meg az Isten szövetségét, és nem akartak járni az ő törvényében;
They didn’t keep God’s covenant, and refused to walk in his law.
11 Sőt elfelejtkeztek az ő tetteiről, csodáiról, a melyeket mutatott nékik.
They forgot his doings, his wondrous deeds that he had shown them.
12 Apáik előtt csodát mívelt Égyiptom földjén, a Czoán mezején.
He did marvellous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13 Ketté választotta a tengert s átvitte őket; és felállította a vizeket fal gyanánt.
He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.
14 Vezette őket nappal felhőben, és egész éjen át tűznek világosságában.
In the daytime he also led them with a cloud, and all night with a light of fire.
15 Sziklákat hasított meg a pusztában, és inniok adott bőségesen, akárcsak a mélységes vizekből.
He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.
16 Patakokat fakasztott a kősziklából, és folyamok módjára vizeket ömlesztett:
He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17 Mégis folyvást vétkeztek ellene, és haragították a Felségest a pusztában;
Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.
18 És megkísérték Istent az ő szívökben, enni valót kérvén az ő kivánságuk szerint.
They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.
19 És szólának Isten ellen, mondván: Avagy tudna-é Isten asztalt teríteni a pusztában?
Yes, they spoke against God. They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20 Ímé, megcsapta a kősziklát és víz ömlött és patakok özönlöttek; de vajjon tud-é kenyeret is adni? avagy készíthet-é húst az ő népének?
Behold, he struck the rock, so that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed. Can he give bread also? Will he provide meat for his people?”
21 Meghallotta az Úr és megharagudott ezért, és tűz gyulladt fel Jákób ellen, és harag gerjedt fel Izráel ellen;
Therefore the LORD heard, and was angry. A fire was kindled against Jacob, anger also went up against Israel,
22 Mert nem hittek Istenben, és nem bíztak az ő segedelmében,
because they didn’t believe in God, and didn’t trust in his salvation.
23 És ráparancsolt a felhőkre ott fenn, és az egek ajtait megnyitotta.
Yet he commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven.
24 És hullatott reájuk mannát eledelül, és mennyei gabonát adott nékik.
He rained down manna on them to eat, and gave them food from the sky.
25 Angyalok kenyerét ette az ember, bőséggel vetett nékik eleséget,
Man ate the bread of angels. He sent them food to the full.
26 Megindítá a keleti szelet az egekben, és elhozá erejével a déli szelet;
He caused the east wind to blow in the sky. By his power he guided the south wind.
27 És hullata rájuk annyi húst, mint a por, és annyi madarat, mint a tenger fövénye.
He also rained meat on them as the dust, winged birds as the sand of the seas.
28 És leszállítá azokat az ő táboruk közepére, az ő sátoraikhoz köröskörül.
He let them fall in the middle of their camp, around their habitations.
29 Evének azért és igen megelégedének, és a mit kivántak, azt hozá nékik.
So they ate, and were well filled. He gave them their own desire.
30 Még fel sem hagytak a kivánságukkal; az étel még a szájukban vala:
They didn’t turn from their cravings. Their food was yet in their mouths,
31 Mikor az Isten haragja felgerjede ellenök, és főbbjeik közül sokakat megöle, és Izráelnek ifjait levágá;
when the anger of God went up against them, killed some of their strongest, and struck down the young men of Israel.
32 Mindamellett is újra vétkezének, és nem hivének az ő csodadolgaiban.
For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in his wondrous works.
33 Azért hiábavalóságban töltette el napjaikat, éveiket pedig rettegésben.
Therefore he consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror.
34 Ha ölte őket, hozzá fordultak, megtértek és Istent keresék.
When he killed them, then they enquired after him. They returned and sought God earnestly.
35 És eszökbe vevék, hogy Isten az ő sziklájok, és a felséges Isten az ő megváltójok;
They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.
36 És hízelkedének néki szájokkal, nyelvökkel pedig hazudozának néki.
But they flattered him with their mouth, and lied to him with their tongue.
37 De szívök nem volt tökéletes iránta, és nem voltak hűségesek az ő szövetségéhez;
For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.
38 Ő azonban irgalmas és bűnbocsátó, nem semmisít meg, sőt sokszor elfordítja haragját, és nem önti ki teljes búsulását.
But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and didn’t stir up all his wrath.
39 Azért eszébe vevé, hogy test ők, és olyanok, mint az ellebbenő szél, a mely nem tér vissza.
He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn’t come again.
40 Hányszor keserítették őt a pusztában, hányszor illették fájdalommal a kietlenben?!
How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert!
41 És újra kísértették az Istent, és ingerelték Izráel szentjét.
They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42 Nem emlékeztek meg az ő kezéről, sem a napról, a melyen megváltotta őket a nyomorgatótól;
They didn’t remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
43 Midőn kitűzte jeleit Égyiptomban, és csodáit a Czoán mezején.
how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,
44 És vérré változtatta folyóikat, hogy nem ihatták patakjaikat.
he turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, so that they could not drink.
45 Legyeket bocsáta reájok, a melyek emészték őket, és békát, a mely pusztítá őket.
He sent amongst them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
46 Odaadta termésöket a szöcskének, s munkájuk gyümölcsét a sáskának.
He also gave their increase to the caterpillar, and their labour to the locust.
47 Jégesővel pusztítá el szőlőjüket, s figefáikat kőesővel.
He destroyed their vines with hail, their sycamore fig trees with frost.
48 Odaveté barmaikat a jégesőnek, marháikat pedig a mennyköveknek.
He also gave over their livestock to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
49 Rájok bocsátá haragjának tüzét, mérgét, búsulását és a szorongatást: a gonosz angyalok seregét.
He threw on them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, indignation, and trouble, and a band of angels of evil.
50 Utat tört haragjának, s nem tartotta meg a haláltól lelköket, és életöket döghalálnak veté.
He made a path for his anger. He didn’t spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,
51 És megöle minden elsőszülöttet Égyiptomban, az erő zsengéjét Khám sátoraiban.
and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
52 Elindítá mint juhokat, az ő népét, s vezeté őket, mint nyájat a pusztában.
But he led out his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53 És vezeté őket biztonságban, és nem félének, ellenségeiket pedig elborítá a tenger.
He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54 És bevivé őket az ő szent határába, arra a hegyre, a melyet szerzett az ő jobbkezével.
He brought them to the border of his sanctuary, to this mountain, which his right hand had taken.
55 És kiűzé előlük a pogányokat, és elosztá nékik az örökséget sorsvetéssel; és letelepíté azok sátoraiban az Izráel törzseit.
He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56 De megkisérték és megharagíták a magasságos Istent, és nem őrizék meg bizonyságait;
Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn’t keep his testimonies,
57 Elfordulának ugyanis és hűtlenek levének, mint apáik; visszafelé fordulának, mint a csalfa kézív.
but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.
58 Haragra ingerelték őt magaslataikkal, és bosszantották faragott bálványaikkal.
For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.
59 Meghallá ezt Isten és felgerjede; és az Izráelt felette megútálá.
When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel,
60 És elveté magától Silói hajlékát, a sátort, a melyben lakott vala az emberek között;
so that he abandoned the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed amongst men,
61 Sőt fogságba viteté erejét, dicsőségét pedig ellenség kezébe.
and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary’s hand.
62 És fegyver alá rekeszté az ő népét; és az ő öröksége ellen felgerjede.
He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.
63 Ifjait tűz emészté meg, és szüzei nem énekeltettek meg.
Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.
64 Papjai fegyver miatt hullottak el, és özvegyei nem végezheték a siratást.
Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.
65 Akkor felserkene az Úr, mintegy álomból; mint hős, a ki bortól vigadoz;
Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts by reason of wine.
66 És visszaveré ellenségeit; s örök gyalázatot vete reájok.
He struck his adversaries backward. He put them to a perpetual reproach.
67 Azután megútálá a József sátorát, és nem választá Efraim törzsét;
Moreover he rejected the tent of Joseph, and didn’t choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68 Hanem a Júda törzsét választá; a Sion hegyét, a melyet szeret.
But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved.
69 És megépíté szent helyét, mint egy magas várat; mint a földet, a melyet örök időre fundált.
He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever.
70 És kiválasztá Dávidot, az ő szolgáját, és elhozá őt a juhok aklaiból.
He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;
71 A szoptatós juhok mellől hozá el őt, hogy legeltesse Jákóbot, az ő népét, és Izráelt, az ő örökségét.
from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance.
72 És legelteté őket szívének tökéletessége szerint, és vezeté őket bölcs kezeivel.
So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
