Jób 42
1 Jób pedig felele az Úrnak, és monda:
Forsothe Joob answeride to the Lord, and seide,
2 Tudom, hogy te mindent megtehetsz, és senki téged el nem fordíthat attól, a mit elgondoltál.
Y woot, that thou maist alle thingis, and no thouyt is hid fro thee.
3 Ki az – mondod – a ki gáncsolja az örök rendet tudatlanul? Megvallom azért, hogy nem értettem; csodadolgok ezek nékem, és fel nem foghatom.
Who is this, that helith counsel with out kunnyng? Therfor Y spak vnwiseli, and tho thingis that passiden ouer mesure my kunnyng.
4 Hallgass hát, kérlek, én hadd beszéljek; én kérdezlek, te pedig taníts meg engem!
Here thou, and Y schal speke; Y schal axe thee, and answere thou to me.
5 Az én fülemnek hallásával hallottam felőled, most pedig szemeimmel látlak téged.
Bi heryng of eere Y herde thee, but now myn iye seeth thee.
6 Ezért hibáztatom magam és bánkódom a porban és hamuban!
Therfor Y repreue me, and do penaunce in deed sparcle and aische.
7 Miután pedig e szavakat mondotta vala az Úr Jóbnak, szóla a Témánból való Elifáznak: Haragom felgerjedt ellened és két barátod ellen, mert nem szóltatok felőlem igazán, mint az én szolgám, Jób.
Forsothe aftir that the Lord spak these wordis to Joob, he seide to Eliphat Themanytes, My stronge veniaunce is wrooth ayens thee, and ayens thi twey frendis; for ye `spaken not bifor me riytful thing, as my seruaunt Joob dide.
8 Most azért vegyetek magatokhoz hét tulkot és hét kost, és menjetek el az én szolgámhoz Jóbhoz, és áldozzatok magatokért égőáldozatot; Jób pedig, az én szolgám, imádkozzék ti érettetek; mert csak az ő személyére tekintek, hogy retteneteset ne cselekedjem veletek, mivelhogy nem szóltatok felőlem igazán, mint az én szolgám Jób.
Therfor take ye to you seuene bolis, and seuene rammes; and go ye to my seruaunt Joob, and offre ye brent sacrifice for you. Forsothe Joob, my seruaunt, schal preie for you; Y schal resseyue his face, that foli be not arettid to you; for ye `spaken not bifor me riytful thing, as my seruaunt Joob dide.
9 Elmenének azért a Témánból való Elifáz, a Sukhból való Bildád és a Naamából való Czófár, és úgy cselekedének, a miképen mondotta vala nékik az Úr, és az Úr tekinte Jóbnak személyére.
Therfor Eliphat Themanytes, and Baldach Suythes, and Sophar Naamathites, yeden, and diden, as the Lord hedde spoke to hem; and the Lord resseyuede the face of Joob.
10 Azután eltávolítá Isten Jóbról a csapást, miután imádkozott vala az ő barátaiért, és kétszeresen visszaadá az Úr Jóbnak mindazt, a mije volt.
Also the Lord was conuertid to the penaunce of Joob, whanne he preiede for hise frendis. And the Lord addide alle thingis double, whiche euere weren of Joob.
11 És beméne hozzá minden fiútestvére és minden leánytestvére és minden előbbi ismerőse, és evének ő vele együtt kenyeret az ő házában; sajnálkozának felette és vigasztalák őt mindama nyomorúság miatt, a melyet az Úr reá bocsátott vala, és kiki ada néki egy-egy pénzt, és kiki egy-egy aranyfüggőt.
Sotheli alle hise britheren, and alle hise sistris, and alle that knewen hym bifore, camen to hym; and thei eeten breed with hym in his hows, and moueden the heed on hym; and thei coumfortiden hym of al the yuel, which the Lord hadde brouyt in on hym; and thei yauen to hym ech man o scheep, and o goldun eere ring.
12 Az Úr pedig jobban megáldá a Jób életének végét, mint kezdetét, mert lőn néki tizennégyezer juha, hatezer tevéje, ezer igás ökre és ezer szamara.
Forsothe the Lord blesside the laste thingis of Joob, more than the bigynnyng of hym; and fouretene thousynde of scheep weren maad to hym, and sixe thousinde of camels, and a thousynde yockis of oxis, and a thousynde femal assis.
13 És lőn néki hét fia és három leánya.
And he hadde seuene sones, and thre douytris;
14 És az elsőnek neve vala Jémima, a másodiké Kecziha, a harmadiké Kéren-Happuk.
and he clepide the name of o douytir Dai, and the name of the secounde douytir Cassia, and the name of the thridde douytir `An horn of wymmens oynement.
15 És nem találtatnak vala olyan szép leányok, mint a Jób leányai, abban az egész tartományban, és az ő atyjok örökséget is ada nékik az ő fiútestvéreik között.
`Sotheli no wymmen weren foundun so faire in al erthe, as the douytris of Joob; and her fadir yaf eritage to hem among her britheren.
16 Jób pedig él vala ezután száznegyven esztendeig, és látja vala az ő fiait és unokáit negyedízig.
Forsothe Joob lyuede aftir these betyngis an hundrid and fourti yeer, and `siy hise sones, and the sones of hise sones, `til to the fourthe generacioun;
17 És meghala Jób jó vénségben és betelve az élettel.
and he was deed eld, and ful of daies.
