भजन संहिता 39

1 १ यदूतून प्रधान बजानेवाले के लिये दाऊद का भजन मैंने कहा, “मैं अपनी चाल चलन में चौकसी करूँगा, ताकि मेरी जीभ से पाप न हो; जब तक दुष्ट मेरे सामने है, तब तक मैं लगाम लगाए अपना मुँह बन्द किए रहूँगा।”

For victorie, to Iditum, the song of Dauid. I seide, Y schal kepe my weies; that Y trespasse not in my tunge. I settide kepyng to my mouth; whanne a synnere stood ayens me.

2 २ मैं मौन धारण कर गूँगा बन गया, और भलाई की ओर से भी चुप्पी साधे रहा; और मेरी पीड़ा बढ़ गई,

I was doumb, and was mekid ful gretli, and was stille fro goodis; and my sorewe was renulid.

3 ३ मेरा हृदय अन्दर ही अन्दर जल रहा था। सोचते-सोचते आग भड़क उठी; तब मैं अपनी जीभ से बोल उठा;

Myn herte was hoot with ynne me; and fier schal brenne out in my thenkyng.

4 ४ “हे यहोवा, ऐसा कर कि मेरा अन्त मुझे मालूम हो जाए, और यह भी कि मेरी आयु के दिन कितने हैं; जिससे मैं जान लूँ कि कैसा अनित्य हूँ!

I spak in my tunge; Lord, make thou myn eende knowun to me. And the noumbre of my daies what it is; that Y wite, what failith to me.

5 ५ देख, तूने मेरी आयु बालिश्त भर की रखी है, और मेरा जीवनकाल तेरी दृष्टि में कुछ है ही नहीं। सचमुच सब मनुष्य कैसे ही स्थिर क्यों न हों तो भी व्यर्थ ठहरे हैं। (सेला)

Lo! thou hast set my daies mesurable; and my substaunce is as nouyt bifor thee. Netheles al vanytee; ech man lyuynge.

6 ६ सचमुच मनुष्य छाया सा चलता फिरता है; सचमुच वे व्यर्थ घबराते हैं; वह धन का संचय तो करता है परन्तु नहीं जानता कि उसे कौन लेगा!

Netheles a man passith in ymage; but also he is disturblid veynli. He tresorith; and he noot, to whom he `schal gadere tho thingis.

7 ७ “अब हे प्रभु, मैं किस बात की बाट जोहूँ? मेरी आशा तो तेरी ओर लगी है।

And now which is myn abiding? whether not the Lord? and my substaunce is at thee.

8 ८ मुझे मेरे सब अपराधों के बन्धन से छुड़ा ले। मूर्ख मेरी निन्दा न करने पाए।

Delyuere thou me fro alle my wickidnessis; thou hast youe me schenschip to the vnkunnynge.

9 ९ मैं गूँगा बन गया और मुँह न खोला; क्योंकि यह काम तू ही ने किया है।

I was doumbe, and openyde not my mouth; for thou hast maad,

10 १० तूने जो विपत्ति मुझ पर डाली है उसे मुझसे दूर कर दे, क्योंकि मैं तो तेरे हाथ की मार से भस्म हुआ जाता हूँ।

remoue thou thi woundis fro me.

11 ११ जब तू मनुष्य को अधर्म के कारण डाँट-डपटकर ताड़ना देता है; तब तू उसकी सामर्थ्य को पतंगे के समान नाश करता है; सचमुच सब मनुष्य वृथाभिमान करते हैं।

Fro the strengthe of thin hond Y failide in blamyngis; for wickidnesse thou hast chastisid man. And thou madist his lijf to faile as an yreyne; netheles ech man is disturblid in veyn.

12 १२ “हे यहोवा, मेरी प्रार्थना सुन, और मेरी दुहाई पर कान लगा; मेरा रोना सुनकर शान्त न रह! क्योंकि मैं तेरे संग एक परदेशी यात्री के समान रहता हूँ, और अपने सब पुरखाओं के समान परदेशी हूँ।

Lord, here thou my preier and my bisechyng; perseyue thou with eeris my teeris.

13 १३ आह! इससे पहले कि मैं यहाँ से चला जाऊँ और न रह जाऊँ, मुझे बचा ले जिससे मैं प्रदीप्त जीवन प्राप्त करूँ!”

Be thou not stille, for Y am a comelyng at thee; and a pilgrime, as alle my fadris. Foryyue thou to me, that Y be refreischid, bifor that Y go; and Y schal no more be.
