अय्यूब 9

1 १ तब अय्यूब ने कहा,

Joob answeride, and seide, Verili Y woot, that it is so,

2 २ “मैं निश्चय जानता हूँ कि बात ऐसी ही है; परन्तु मनुष्य परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में कैसे धर्मी ठहर सकता है?

and that a man comparisound to God schal not be maad iust.

3 ३ चाहे वह उससे मुकद्दमा लड़ना भी चाहे तो भी मनुष्य हजार बातों में से एक का भी उत्तर न दे सकेगा।

If he wole stryue with God, he may not answere to God oon for a thousynde.

4 ४ परमेश्वर बुद्धिमान और अति सामर्थी है: उसके विरोध में हठ करके कौन कभी प्रबल हुआ है?

He is wiys in herte, and strong in myyt; who ayenstood hym, and hadde pees?

5 ५ वह तो पर्वतों को अचानक हटा देता है और उन्हें पता भी नहीं लगता, वह क्रोध में आकर उन्हें उलट-पुलट कर देता है।

Which bar hillis fro o place to anothir, and thei wisten not; whiche he distriede in his strong veniaunce.

6 ६ वह पृथ्वी को हिलाकर उसके स्थान से अलग करता है, और उसके खम्भे काँपने लगते हैं।

Which stirith the erthe fro his place, and the pilers therof schulen `be schakun togidere.

7 ७ उसकी आज्ञा बिना सूर्य उदय होता ही नहीं; और वह तारों पर मुहर लगाता है;

Which comaundith to the sunne, and it risith not; and he closith the sterris, as vndur a signet.

8 ८ वह आकाशमण्डल को अकेला ही फैलाता है, और समुद्र की ऊँची-ऊँची लहरों पर चलता है;

Which aloone stretchith forth heuenes, and goith on the wawis of the see.

9 ९ वह सप्तर्षि, मृगशिरा और कचपचिया और दक्षिण के नक्षत्रों का बनानेवाला है।

Which makith Ariture, and Orionas, and Hiadas, `that is, seuene sterris, and the innere thingis of the south.

10 १० वह तो ऐसे बड़े कर्म करता है, जिनकी थाह नहीं लगती; और इतने आश्चर्यकर्म करता है, जो गिने नहीं जा सकते।

Which makith grete thingis, and that moun not be souyt out, and wondurful thingis, of whiche is noon noumbre.

11 ११ देखो, वह मेरे सामने से होकर तो चलता है परन्तु मुझ को नहीं दिखाई पड़ता; और आगे को बढ़ जाता है, परन्तु मुझे सूझ ही नहीं पड़ता है।

If he cometh to me, `that is, bi his grace, Y schal not se hym; if he goith awey, `that is, in withdrawynge his grace, Y schal not vndurstonde.

12 १२ देखो, जब वह छीनने लगे, तब उसको कौन रोकेगा? कौन उससे कह सकता है कि तू यह क्या करता है?

If he axith sodeynli, who schal answere to hym? ethir who may seie to hym, Whi doist thou so?

13 १३ “परमेश्वर अपना क्रोध ठंडा नहीं करता। रहब के सहायकों को उसके पाँव तले झुकना पड़ता है।

`God is he, whos wraththe no man may withstonde; and vndur whom thei ben bowid, that beren the world.

14 १४ फिर मैं क्या हूँ, जो उसे उत्तर दूँ, और बातें छाँट छाँटकर उससे विवाद करूँ?

Hou greet am Y, that Y answere to hym, and speke bi my wordis with hym?

15 १५ चाहे मैं निर्दोष भी होता परन्तु उसको उत्तर न दे सकता; मैं अपने मुद्दई से गिड़गिड़ाकर विनती करता।

Which also schal not answere, thouy Y haue ony thing iust; but Y schal biseche my iuge.

16 १६ चाहे मेरे पुकारने से वह उत्तर भी देता, तो भी मैं इस बात पर विश्वास न करता, कि वह मेरी बात सुनता है।

And whanne he hath herd me inwardli clepynge, Y bileue not, that he hath herd my vois.

17 १७ वह आँधी चलाकर मुझे तोड़ डालता है, और बिना कारण मेरी चोट पर चोट लगाता है।

For in a whirlewynd he schal al to-breke me, and he schal multiplie my woundis, yhe, without cause.

18 १८ वह मुझे साँस भी लेने नहीं देता है, और मुझे कड़वाहट से भरता है।

He grauntith not, that my spirit haue reste, and he fillith me with bittirnesses.

19 १९ यदि सामर्थ्य की चर्चा हो, तो देखो, वह बलवान है और यदि न्याय की चर्चा हो, तो वह कहेगा मुझसे कौन मुकद्दमा लड़ेगा?

If strengthe is souyt, `he is moost strong; if equyte of doom is souyt, no man dar yelde witnessynge for me.

20 २० चाहे मैं निर्दोष ही क्यों न हूँ, परन्तु अपने ही मुँह से दोषी ठहरूँगा; खरा होने पर भी वह मुझे कुटिल ठहराएगा।

If Y wole make me iust, my mouth schal dampne me; if Y schal schewe me innocent, he schal preue me a schrewe.

21 २१ मैं खरा तो हूँ, परन्तु अपना भेद नहीं जानता; अपने जीवन से मुझे घृणा आती है।

Yhe, thouy Y am symple, my soule schal not knowe this same thing; and it schal anoye me of my lijf.

22 २२ बात तो एक ही है, इससे मैं यह कहता हूँ कि परमेश्वर खरे और दुष्ट दोनों का नाश करता है।

O thing is, which Y spak, he schal waste `bi deth also the innocent and wickid man.

23 २३ जब लोग विपत्ति से अचानक मरने लगते हैं तब वह निर्दोष लोगों के जाँचे जाने पर हँसता है।

If he betith, sle he onys, and leiye he not of the peynes of innocent men.

24 २४ देश दुष्टों के हाथ में दिया गया है। परमेश्वर उसके न्यायियों की आँखों को मूँद देता है; इसका करनेवाला वही न हो तो कौन है?

The erthe is youun in to the hondis of the wickid; he hilith the face of iugis; that if he is not, who therfor is?

25 २५ “मेरे दिन हरकारे से भी अधिक वेग से चले जाते हैं; वे भागे जाते हैं और उनको कल्याण कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं देता।

Mi daies weren swiftere than a corour; thei fledden, and sien not good.

26 २६ वे तेजी से सरकण्डों की नावों के समान चले जाते हैं, या अहेर पर झपटते हुए उकाब के समान।

Thei passiden as schippis berynge applis, as an egle fleynge to mete.

27 २७ यदि मैं कहूँ, ‘मैं विलाप करना भूल जाऊँगा, और उदासी छोड़कर अपना मन प्रफुल्लित कर लूँगा,’

Whanne Y seie, Y schal not speke so; Y chaunge my face, and Y am turmentid with sorewe.

28 २८ तब मैं अपने सब दुःखों से डरता हूँ। मैं तो जानता हूँ, कि तू मुझे निर्दोष न ठहराएगा।

Y drede alle my werkis, witynge that thou `woldist not spare the trespassour.

29 २९ मैं तो दोषी ठहरूँगा; फिर व्यर्थ क्यों परिश्रम करूँ?

Sotheli if Y am also thus wickid, whi haue Y trauelid in veyn?

30 ३० चाहे मैं हिम के जल में स्नान करूँ, और अपने हाथ खार से निर्मल करूँ,

Thouy Y am waischun as with watris of snow, and thouy myn hondis schynen as moost cleene,

31 ३१ तो भी तू मुझे गड्ढे में डाल ही देगा, और मेरे वस्त्र भी मुझसे घिन करेंगे।

netheles thou schalt dippe me in filthis, and my clothis, `that is, werkis, schulen holde me abhomynable.

32 ३२ क्योंकि परमेश्वर मेरे तुल्य मनुष्य नहीं है कि मैं उससे वाद-विवाद कर सकूँ, और हम दोनों एक दूसरे से मुकद्दमा लड़ सके।

Trewli Y schal not answere a man, which is lijk me; nether that may be herd euenli with me in doom.

33 ३३ हम दोनों के बीच कोई बिचवई नहीं है, जो हम दोनों पर अपना हाथ रखे।

`Noon is, that may repreue euer eithir, and sette his hond in bothe.

34 ३४ वह अपना सोंटा मुझ पर से दूर करे और उसकी भय देनेवाली बात मुझे न घबराए।

Do he awei his yerde fro me, and his drede make not me aferd.

35 ३५ तब मैं उससे निडर होकर कुछ कह सकूँगा, क्योंकि मैं अपनी दृष्टि में ऐसा नहीं हूँ।

Y schal speke, and Y schal not drede hym; for Y may not answere dredynge.
