इब्रानियों 5

1 १ क्योंकि हर एक महायाजक मनुष्यों में से लिया जाता है, और मनुष्यों ही के लिये उन बातों के विषय में जो परमेश्वर से सम्बंध रखती हैं, ठहराया जाता है: कि भेंट और पापबलि चढ़ाया करे।

For every high-priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;

2 २ और वह अज्ञानियों, और भूले भटकों के साथ नर्मी से व्यवहार कर सकता है इसलिए कि वह आप भी निर्बलता से घिरा है।

being able to be forbearing toward the ignorant and the erring, since he himself also is compassed with infirmity;

3 ३ और इसलिए उसे चाहिए, कि जैसे लोगों के लिये, वैसे ही अपने लिये भी पापबलि चढ़ाया करे।

and by reason of this infirmity he must, as for the people, so also for himself, offer sacrifice for sins.

4 ४ और यह आदर का पद कोई अपने आप से नहीं लेता, जब तक कि हारून के समान परमेश्वर की ओर से ठहराया न जाए।

And no one taketh this honor to himself, but when called by God, as was Aaron.

5 ५ वैसे ही मसीह ने भी महायाजक बनने की महिमा अपने आप से नहीं ली, पर उसको उसी ने दी, जिसने उससे कहा था, “तू मेरा पुत्र है, आज मैं ही ने तुझे जन्माया है।”

Thus Christ did not glorify himself to be made high-priest, but he who said to him, “Thou art my Son, I this day have begotten thee;”

6 ६ इसी प्रकार वह दूसरी जगह में भी कहता है, “तू मलिकिसिदक की रीति पर सदा के लिये याजक है।” (aiōn g165)

as also he saith in another place, “Thou art a priest for ever, after the order of Melchizedek.” (aiōn g165)

7 ७ यीशु ने अपनी देह में रहने के दिनों में ऊँचे शब्द से पुकार पुकारकर, और आँसू बहा-बहाकर उससे जो उसको मृत्यु से बचा सकता था, प्रार्थनाएँ और विनती की और भक्ति के कारण उसकी सुनी गई।

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, to him that was able to save him from death, and was heard by reason of his godly reverence,

8 ८ और पुत्र होने पर भी, उसने दुःख उठा-उठाकर आज्ञा माननी सीखी।

though a son yet learned his obedience from what he suffered;

9 ९ और सिद्ध बनकर, अपने सब आज्ञा माननेवालों के लिये सदाकाल के उद्धार का कारण हो गया। (aiōnios g166)

and being perfected became the author of everlasting salvation to all who obey him, (aiōnios g166)

10 १० और उसे परमेश्वर की ओर से मलिकिसिदक की रीति पर महायाजक का पद मिला।

being addressed by God as high-priest after the order of Melchizedek.

11 ११ इसके विषय में हमें बहुत सी बातें कहनी हैं, जिनका समझाना भी कठिन है; इसलिए कि तुम ऊँचा सुनने लगे हो।

Of whom we have much to say, and hard to be explained, seeing ye have become dull of hearing.

12 १२ समय के विचार से तो तुम्हें गुरु हो जाना चाहिए था, तो भी यह आवश्यक है, कि कोई तुम्हें परमेश्वर के वचनों की आदि शिक्षा फिर से सिखाए? तुम तो ऐसे हो गए हो, कि तुम्हें अन्न के बदले अब तक दूध ही चाहिए।

For while on account of the length of time ye ought to be teachers, ye again have need that some one should teach you the first elements of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food.

13 १३ क्योंकि दूध पीनेवाले को तो धार्मिकता के वचन की पहचान नहीं होती, क्योंकि वह बच्चा है।

For every one that feedeth on milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness; for he is a babe;

14 १४ पर अन्न सयानों के लिये है, जिनकी ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ अभ्यास करते-करते, भले बुरे में भेद करने में निपुण हो गई हैं।

but solid food belongs to those who are of full age, who by use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
