שמואל ב 12
| וישלח יהוה את נתן אל דוד ויבא אליו ויאמר לו שני אנשים היו בעיר אחת אחד עשיר ואחד ראש׃ | 1 |
And he sent Yahweh Nathan to David and he came to him and he said to him two men they were in a city one one [was] rich and one [was] poor.
| לעשיר היה צאן ובקר הרבה מאד׃ | 2 |
To [the] rich [man] it belonged flock[s] and herd[s] many very.
| ולרש אין כל כי אם כבשה אחת קטנה אשר קנה ויחיה ותגדל עמו ועם בניו יחדו מפתו תאכל ומכסו תשתה ובחיקו תשכב ותהי לו כבת׃ | 3 |
And [belonged] to the poor [man] not anything that except a ewe-lamb one small which he had acquired and he nourished it and it grew up with him and with children his together from morsel his it ate and from cup his it drank and in bosom his it lay down and it was to him like a daughter.
| ויבא הלך לאיש העשיר ויחמל לקחת מצאנו ומבקרו לעשות לארח הבא לו ויקח את כבשת האיש הראש ויעשה לאיש הבא אליו׃ | 4 |
And he came a traveler to [the] man rich and he spared to take one of own sheep his and one of own cattle his to prepare for the traveler who had come to him and he took [the] ewe-lamb of the man poor and he prepared it for the man who had come to him.
| ויחר אף דוד באיש מאד ויאמר אל נתן חי יהוה כי בן מות האיש העשה זאת׃ | 5 |
And it burned [the] anger of David on the man exceedingly and he said to Nathan [by] [the] life of Yahweh for [is] a son of death the man who did this.
| ואת הכבשה ישלם ארבעתים עקב אשר עשה את הדבר הזה ועל אשר לא חמל׃ | 6 |
And the ewe-lamb he will restore fourfold consequence that he did the thing this and on that not he showed pity.
| ויאמר נתן אל דוד אתה האיש כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אנכי משחתיך למלך על ישראל ואנכי הצלתיך מיד שאול׃ | 7 |
And he said Nathan to David you [are] the man thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel I I anointed you to king over Israel and I I delivered you from [the] hand of Saul.
| ואתנה לך את בית אדניך ואת נשי אדניך בחיקך ואתנה לך את בית ישראל ויהודה ואם מעט ואספה לך כהנה וכהנה׃ | 8 |
And I gave! to you [the] house of master your and [the] wives of master your in bosom your and I gave! to you [the] house of Israel and Judah and if little and I will add to you like those and like those.
| מדוע בזית את דבר יהוה לעשות הרע בעינו את אוריה החתי הכית בחרב ואת אשתו לקחת לך לאשה ואתו הרגת בחרב בני עמון׃ | 9 |
Why? have you despised - [the] word of Yahweh by doing the evil (in eyes my *Q(K)*) Uriah the Hittite you struck down with the sword and wife his you took for yourself to a wife and him you killed with [the] sword of [the] people of Ammon.
| ועתה לא תסור חרב מביתך עד עולם עקב כי בזתני ותקח את אשת אוריה החתי להיות לך לאשה׃ | 10 |
And therefore not it will depart [the] sword from house your until perpetuity consequence for you despised me and you took [the] wife of Uriah the Hittite to become of you a wife.
| כה אמר יהוה הנני מקים עליך רעה מביתך ולקחתי את נשיך לעיניך ונתתי לרעיך ושכב עם נשיך לעיני השמש הזאת׃ | 11 |
Thus - he says Yahweh here I [am] about to raise up on you calamity from own house your and I will take wives your to eyes your and I will give [them] to neighbor your and he will lie with wives your to [the] eyes of the sun this.
| כי אתה עשית בסתר ואני אעשה את הדבר הזה נגד כל ישראל ונגד השמש׃ | 12 |
For you you acted in secret and I I will do the thing this before all Israel and before the sun.
| ויאמר דוד אל נתן חטאתי ליהוה ויאמר נתן אל דוד גם יהוה העביר חטאתך לא תמות׃ | 13 |
And he said David to Nathan I have sinned to Yahweh. And he said Nathan to David also Yahweh he has taken away sin your not you will die.
| אפס כי נאץ נאצת את איבי יהוה בדבר הזה גם הבן הילוד לך מות ימות׃ | 14 |
Nevertheless for indeed you have declared contemptible [the] enemies of Yahweh by the thing this also the son born to you certainly he will die.
| וילך נתן אל ביתו ויגף יהוה את הילד אשר ילדה אשת אוריה לדוד ויאנש׃ | 15 |
And he went Nathan to house his and he struck Yahweh the child whom she had borne [the] wife of Uriah to David and he was sick.
| ויבקש דוד את האלהים בעד הנער ויצם דוד צום ובא ולן ושכב ארצה׃ | 16 |
And he sought David God for the lad and he fasted David a fast and he went and he passed [the] night and he lay (in the sackcloth *X*) [the] ground towards.
| ויקמו זקני ביתו עליו להקימו מן הארץ ולא אבה ולא ברא אתם לחם׃ | 17 |
And they stood [the] elders of house his with him to raise him from the ground and not he was willing and not he ate with them food.
| ויהי ביום השביעי וימת הילד ויראו עבדי דוד להגיד לו כי מת הילד כי אמרו הנה בהיות הילד חי דברנו אליו ולא שמע בקולנו ואיך נאמר אליו מת הילד ועשה רעה׃ | 18 |
And it was on the day seventh and he died the child and they were afraid [the] servants of David to tell to him - that he had died the child for they said here! when was the child alive we spoke to him and not he listened to voice our and how? will we say to him he has died the child and he will do harm.
| וירא דוד כי עבדיו מתלחשים ויבן דוד כי מת הילד ויאמר דוד אל עבדיו המת הילד ויאמרו מת׃ | 19 |
And he saw David that servants his [were] whispering to one another and he understood David that he had died the child and he said David to servants his ¿ has he died the child and they said he has died.
| ויקם דוד מהארץ וירחץ ויסך ויחלף שמלתו ויבא בית יהוה וישתחו ויבא אל ביתו וישאל וישימו לו לחם ויאכל׃ | 20 |
And he arose David from the ground and he bathed and he anointed himself and he changed (garments his *Q(K)*) and he went [the] house of Yahweh and he bowed down and he went to own house his and he asked and they set for him food and he ate.
| ויאמרו עבדיו אליו מה הדבר הזה אשר עשיתה בעבור הילד חי צמת ותבך וכאשר מת הילד קמת ותאכל לחם׃ | 21 |
And they said servants his to him what? [is] the thing this which you have done for sake of the child [was] alive you fasted and you wept and just when he died the child you arose and you ate food.
| ויאמר בעוד הילד חי צמתי ואבכה כי אמרתי מי יודע יחנני יהוה וחי הילד׃ | 22 |
And he said while still the child [was] alive I fasted and I wept for I said who? [is] knowing (and he will show favor to me *Q(K)*) Yahweh and he will live the child.
| ועתה מת למה זה אני צם האוכל להשיבו עוד אני הלך אליו והוא לא ישוב אלי׃ | 23 |
And now - he has died why? this [am] I fasting ¿ am I able to bring back him again I [am] going to him and he not he will return to me.
| וינחם דוד את בת שבע אשתו ויבא אליה וישכב עמה ותלד בן ויקרא את שמו שלמה ויהוה אהבו׃ | 24 |
And he comforted David Bath-sheba wife his and he went into her and he lay with her and she bore a son (and she called *Q(K)*) name his Solomon and Yahweh he loved him.
| וישלח ביד נתן הנביא ויקרא את שמו ידידיה בעבור יהוה׃ | 25 |
And he sent by [the] hand of Nathan the prophet and he called name his Jedidiah for sake of Yahweh.
| וילחם יואב ברבת בני עמון וילכד את עיר המלוכה׃ | 26 |
And he fought Joab against Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and he captured [the] city of royalty.
| וישלח יואב מלאכים אל דוד ויאמר נלחמתי ברבה גם לכדתי את עיר המים׃ | 27 |
And he sent Joab messengers to David and he said I have fought against Rabbah also I have captured [the] city of the waters.
| ועתה אסף את יתר העם וחנה על העיר ולכדה פן אלכד אני את העיר ונקרא שמי עליה׃ | 28 |
And therefore gather [the] rest of the people and encamp on the city and capture it lest I should take I the city and it will be called name my on it.
| ויאסף דוד את כל העם וילך רבתה וילחם בה וילכדה׃ | 29 |
And he gathered David all the people and he went Rabbah towards and he fought against it and he captured it.
| ויקח את עטרת מלכם מעל ראשו ומשקלה ככר זהב ואבן יקרה ותהי על ראש דוד ושלל העיר הוציא הרבה מאד׃ | 30 |
And he took [the] crown of king their from on head his and weight its [was] a talent of gold and a stone precious and it was on [the] head of David and [the] plunder of the city he brought out much very.
| ואת העם אשר בה הוציא וישם במגרה ובחרצי הברזל ובמגזרת הברזל והעביר אותם במלכן וכן יעשה לכל ערי בני עמון וישב דוד וכל העם ירושלם׃ | 31 |
And the people which [was] in it he brought out and he set [them] at the saws and at [the] picks of iron and at [the] axes of iron and he caused to pass them (in the brick mold[s] *Q(K)*) and thus he did to all [the] cities of [the] people of Ammon and he returned David and all the people Jerusalem.
