דברי הימים א 25

1 ויבדל דויד ושרי הצבא לעבדה לבני אסף והימן וידותון הנביאים בכנרות בנבלים ובמצלתים ויהי מספרם אנשי מלאכה לעבדתם׃

David and the leaders of the army selected some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:

2 לבני אסף זכור ויוסף ונתניה ואשראלה בני אסף על יד אסף הנבא על ידי המלך׃

From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the king's supervision.

3 לידותון בני ידותון גדליהו וצרי וישעיהו חשביהו ומתתיהו ששה על ידי אביהם ידותון בכנור הנבא על הדות והלל ליהוה׃

From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who played the harp for giving thanks and praising Yahweh.

4 להימן בני הימן בקיהו מתניהו עזיאל שבואל וירימות חנניה חנני אליאתה גדלתי ורממתי עזר ישבקשה מלותי הותיר מחזיאות׃

From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5 כל אלה בנים להימן חזה המלך בדברי האלהים להרים קרן ויתן האלהים להימן בנים ארבעה עשר ובנות שלוש׃

All these were the sons of Heman the king's prophet. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters to lift up his horn.

6 כל אלה על ידי אביהם בשיר בית יהוה במצלתים נבלים וכנרות לעבדת בית האלהים על ידי המלך אסף וידותון והימן׃

All these were under the direction of their fathers. They were musicians in Yahweh's house, with cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God's house. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king's supervision.

7 ויהי מספרם עם אחיהם מלמדי שיר ליהוה כל המבין מאתים שמונים ושמונה׃

They and their brothers who were skilled and trained to make music to Yahweh numbered 288.

8 ויפילו גורלות משמרת לעמת כקטן כגדול מבין עם תלמיד׃

They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the same for the young as well as the old, the teacher as well as the student.

9 ויצא הגורל הראשון לאסף ליוסף גדליהו השני הוא ואחיו ובניו שנים עשר׃

Now regarding Asaph's sons: The first lot fell to Joseph's family; the second fell to Gedaliah's family, twelve persons in number;

10 השלשי זכור בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the third fell to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

11 הרביעי ליצרי בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the fourth fell to Izri, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

12 החמישי נתניהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the fifth fell to Nethaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

13 הששי בקיהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the sixth fell to Bukkiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

14 השבעי ישראלה בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the seventh fell to Jesarelah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

15 השמיני ישעיהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the eighth fell to Jeshaiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

16 התשיעי מתניהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the ninth fell to Mattaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

17 העשירי שמעי בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the tenth fell to Shimei, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

18 עשתי עשר עזראל בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the eleventh fell to Azarel, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

19 השנים עשר לחשביה בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twelfth fell to Hashabiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

20 לשלשה עשר שובאל בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the thirteenth fell to Shubael, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

21 לארבעה עשר מתתיהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the fourteenth fell to Mattithiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

22 לחמשה עשר לירמות בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the fifteenth fell to Jerimoth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

23 לששה עשר לחנניהו בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the sixteenth fell to Hananiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

24 לשבעה עשר לישבקשה בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the seventeenth fell to Joshbekashah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

25 לשמונה עשר לחנני בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the eighteenth fell to Hanani, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

26 לתשעה עשר למלותי בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the nineteenth fell to Mallothi, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

27 לעשרים לאליתה בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twentieth fell to Eliathah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

28 לאחד ועשרים להותיר בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

29 לשנים ועשרים לגדלתי בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twenty-second fell to Giddalti, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

30 לשלשה ועשרים למחזיאות בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twenty-third fell to Mahazioth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;

31 לארבעה ועשרים לרוממתי עזר בניו ואחיו שנים עשר׃

the twenty-fourth fell to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number.
