בְּרֵאשִׁית 39
| וְיֹוסֵ֖ף הוּרַ֣ד מִצְרָ֑יְמָה וַיִּקְנֵ֡הוּ פֹּוטִיפַר֩ סְרִ֨יס פַּרְעֹ֜ה שַׂ֤ר הַטַּבָּחִים֙ אִ֣ישׁ מִצְרִ֔י מִיַּד֙ הַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֹורִדֻ֖הוּ שָֽׁמָּה׃ | 1 |
and Joseph to go down Egypt [to] and to buy him Potiphar eunuch Pharaoh ruler [the] guard man Egyptian from hand: to [the] Ishmaelite which to go down him there [to]
| וַיְהִ֤י יְהוָה֙ אֶת־יֹוסֵ֔ף וַיְהִ֖י אִ֣ישׁ מַצְלִ֑יחַ וַיְהִ֕י בְּבֵ֥ית אֲדֹנָ֖יו הַמִּצְרִֽי׃ | 2 |
and to be LORD with Joseph and to be man to prosper and to be in/on/with house: household lord his [the] Egyptian
| וַיַּ֣רְא אֲדֹנָ֔יו כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אִתֹּ֑ו וְכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁר־ה֣וּא עֹשֶׂ֔ה יְהוָ֖ה מַצְלִ֥יחַ בְּיָדֹֽו׃ | 3 |
and to see: see lord his for LORD with him and all which he/she/it to make: do LORD to prosper in/on/with hand his
| וַיִּמְצָ֨א יֹוסֵ֥ף חֵ֛ן בְּעֵינָ֖יו וַיְשָׁ֣רֶת אֹתֹ֑ו וַיַּפְקִדֵ֙הוּ֙ עַל־בֵּיתֹ֔ו וְכָל־יֶשׁ־לֹ֖ו נָתַ֥ן בְּיָדֹֽו׃ | 4 |
and to find Joseph favor in/on/with eye: seeing his and to minister [obj] him and to reckon: overseer him upon house: household his and all there to/for him to give: put in/on/with hand: power his
| וַיְהִ֡י מֵאָז֩ הִפְקִ֨יד אֹתֹ֜ו בְּבֵיתֹ֗ו וְעַל֙ כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶשׁ־לֹ֔ו וַיְבָ֧רֶךְ יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־בֵּ֥ית הַמִּצְרִ֖י בִּגְלַ֣ל יֹוסֵ֑ף וַיְהִ֞י בִּרְכַּ֤ת יְהוָה֙ בְּכָל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶשׁ־לֹ֔ו בַּבַּ֖יִת וּבַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ | 5 |
and to be from the past to reckon: overseer [obj] him in/on/with house: household his and upon all which there to/for him and to bless LORD [obj] house: household [the] Egyptian in/on/with because of Joseph and to be blessing LORD in/on/with all which there to/for him in/on/with house: home and in/on/with land: country
| וַיַּעֲזֹ֣ב כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לֹו֮ בְּיַד־יֹוסֵף֒ וְלֹא־יָדַ֤ע אִתֹּו֙ מְא֔וּמָה כִּ֥י אִם־הַלֶּ֖חֶם אֲשֶׁר־ה֣וּא אֹוכֵ֑ל וַיְהִ֣י יֹוסֵ֔ף יְפֵה־תֹ֖אַר וִיפֵ֥ה מַרְאֶֽה׃ | 6 |
and to leave: forsake all which to/for him in/on/with hand: power Joseph and not to know with him anything that if: except if: except [the] food which he/she/it to eat and to be Joseph beautiful appearance and beautiful appearance
| וַיְהִ֗י אַחַר֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וַתִּשָּׂ֧א אֵֽשֶׁת־אֲדֹנָ֛יו אֶת־עֵינֶ֖יהָ אֶל־יֹוסֵ֑ף וַתֹּ֖אמֶר שִׁכְבָ֥ה עִמִּֽי׃ | 7 |
and to be after [the] word: thing [the] these and to lift: bear woman: wife lord his [obj] eye her to(wards) Joseph and to say to lie down: have sex [emph?] with me
| וַיְמָאֵ֓ן ׀ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־אֵ֣שֶׁת אֲדֹנָ֔יו הֵ֣ן אֲדֹנִ֔י לֹא־יָדַ֥ע אִתִּ֖י מַה־בַּבָּ֑יִת וְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־יֶשׁ־לֹ֖ו נָתַ֥ן בְּיָדִֽי׃ | 8 |
and to refuse and to say to(wards) woman: wife lord his look! lord my not to know with me what? in/on/with house: household and all which there to/for him to give: put in/on/with hand: power my
| אֵינֶ֨נּוּ גָדֹ֜ול בַּבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּה֮ מִמֶּנִּי֒ וְלֹֽא־חָשַׂ֤ךְ מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ מְא֔וּמָה כִּ֥י אִם־אֹותָ֖ךְ בַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתְּ־אִשְׁתֹּ֑ו וְאֵ֨יךְ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֜ה הָרָעָ֤ה הַגְּדֹלָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את וְחָטָ֖אתִי לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃ | 9 |
nothing he great: large in/on/with house: household [the] this from me and not to withhold from me anything that if: except if: except [obj] you in/on/with in which you(f. s.) woman: wife his and how? to make: do [the] distress: evil [the] great: large [the] this and to sin to/for God
| וַיְהִ֕י כְּדַבְּרָ֥הּ אֶל־יֹוסֵ֖ף יֹ֣ום ׀ יֹ֑ום וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע אֵלֶ֛יהָ לִשְׁכַּ֥ב אֶצְלָ֖הּ לִהְיֹ֥ות עִמָּֽהּ׃ | 10 |
and to be like/as to speak: speak she to(wards) Joseph day: daily day: daily and not to hear: hear to(wards) her to/for to lie down: have sex beside her to/for to be with her
| וַיְהִי֙ כְּהַיֹּ֣ום הַזֶּ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֥א הַבַּ֖יְתָה לַעֲשֹׂ֣ות מְלַאכְתֹּ֑ו וְאֵ֨ין אִ֜ישׁ מֵאַנְשֵׁ֥י הַבַּ֛יִת שָׁ֖ם בַּבָּֽיִת׃ | 11 |
and to be like/as [the] day [the] this and to come (in): come [the] house: home [to] to/for to make: do work his and nothing man: anyone from human [the] house: home there in/on/with house: home
| וַתִּתְפְּשֵׂ֧הוּ בְּבִגְדֹ֛ו לֵאמֹ֖ר שִׁכְבָ֣ה עִמִּ֑י וַיַּעֲזֹ֤ב בִּגְדֹו֙ בְּיָדָ֔הּ וַיָּ֖נָס וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַחֽוּצָה׃ | 12 |
and to capture him in/on/with garment his to/for to say to lie down: have sex [emph?] with me and to leave: forsake garment his in/on/with hand: power her and to flee and to come out: come [the] outside [to]
| וַיְהִי֙ כִּרְאֹותָ֔הּ כִּֽי־עָזַ֥ב בִּגְדֹ֖ו בְּיָדָ֑הּ וַיָּ֖נָס הַחֽוּצָה׃ | 13 |
and to be like/as to see: see she for to leave: forsake garment his in/on/with hand her and to flee [the] outside [to]
| וַתִּקְרָ֞א לְאַנְשֵׁ֣י בֵיתָ֗הּ וַתֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר רְא֗וּ הֵ֥בִיא לָ֛נוּ אִ֥ישׁ עִבְרִ֖י לְצַ֣חֶק בָּ֑נוּ בָּ֤א אֵלַי֙ לִשְׁכַּ֣ב עִמִּ֔י וָאֶקְרָ֖א בְּקֹ֥ול גָּדֹֽול׃ | 14 |
and to call: call out to/for human house: household her and to say to/for them to/for to say to see: behold! to come (in): bring to/for us man Hebrew to/for to laugh in/on/with us to come (in): come to(wards) me to/for to lie down: have sex with me and to call: call out in/on/with voice great: large
| וַיְהִ֣י כְשָׁמְעֹ֔ו כִּֽי־הֲרִימֹ֥תִי קֹולִ֖י וָאֶקְרָ֑א וַיַּעֲזֹ֤ב בִּגְדֹו֙ אֶצְלִ֔י וַיָּ֖נָס וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַחֽוּצָה׃ | 15 |
and to be like/as to hear: hear he for to exalt voice my and to call: call out and to leave: forsake garment his beside me and to flee and to come out: come [the] outside [to]
| וַתַּנַּ֥ח בִּגְדֹ֖ו אֶצְלָ֑הּ עַד־בֹּ֥וא אֲדֹנָ֖יו אֶל־בֵּיתֹֽו׃ | 16 |
and to rest garment his beside her till to come (in): come lord his to(wards) house: home his
| וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו כַּדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לֵאמֹ֑ר בָּֽא־אֵלַ֞י הָעֶ֧בֶד הָֽעִבְרִ֛י אֲשֶׁר־הֵבֵ֥אתָ לָּ֖נוּ לְצַ֥חֶק בִּֽי׃ | 17 |
and to speak: speak to(wards) him like/as word [the] these to/for to say to come (in): come to(wards) me [the] servant/slave [the] Hebrew which to come (in): bring to/for us to/for to laugh in/on/with me
| וַיְהִ֕י כַּהֲרִימִ֥י קֹולִ֖י וָאֶקְרָ֑א וַיַּעֲזֹ֥ב בִּגְדֹ֛ו אֶצְלִ֖י וַיָּ֥נָס הַחֽוּצָה׃ | 18 |
and to be like/as to exalt I voice my and to call: call out and to leave: forsake garment his beside me and to flee [the] outside [to]
| וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ אֲדֹנָ֜יו אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י אִשְׁתֹּ֗ו אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבְּרָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה עָ֥שָׂהּ לִ֖י עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ וַיִּ֖חַר אַפֹּֽו׃ | 19 |
and to be like/as to hear: hear lord his [obj] word woman: wife his which to speak: speak to(wards) him to/for to say like/as Chronicles [the] these to make: do to/for me servant/slave your and to be incensed face: anger his
| וַיִּקַּח֩ אֲדֹנֵ֨י יֹוסֵ֜ף אֹתֹ֗ו וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ית הַסֹּ֔הַר מְקֹ֕ום אֲשֶׁר־אֲסוּרֵי (אֲסִירֵ֥י) הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֲסוּרִ֑ים וֽ͏ַיְהִי־שָׁ֖ם בְּבֵ֥ית הַסֹּֽהַר׃ | 20 |
and to take: take lord Joseph [obj] him and to give: put him to(wards) house: home [the] prison place which (prisoner *QK) [the] king to bind and to be there in/on/with house: home [the] prison
| וַיְהִ֤י יְהוָה֙ אֶת־יֹוסֵ֔ף וַיֵּ֥ט אֵלָ֖יו חָ֑סֶד וַיִּתֵּ֣ן חִנֹּ֔ו בְּעֵינֵ֖י שַׂ֥ר בֵּית־הַסֹּֽהַר׃ | 21 |
and to be LORD with Joseph and to stretch to(wards) him kindness and to give: give favor his in/on/with eye: seeing ruler house: home [the] prison
| וַיִּתֵּ֞ן שַׂ֤ר בֵּית־הַסֹּ֙הַר֙ בְּיַד־יֹוסֵ֔ף אֵ֚ת כָּל־הָ֣אֲסִירִ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּבֵ֣ית הַסֹּ֑הַר וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֤ר עֹשִׂים֙ שָׁ֔ם ה֖וּא הָיָ֥ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃ | 22 |
and to give: put ruler house: home [the] prison in/on/with hand: power Joseph [obj] all [the] prisoner which in/on/with house: home [the] prison and [obj] all which to make: do there he/she/it to be to make: do
| אֵ֣ין ׀ שַׂ֣ר בֵּית־הַסֹּ֗הַר רֹאֶ֤ה אֶֽת־כָּל־מְא֙וּמָה֙ בְּיָדֹ֔ו בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אִתֹּ֑ו וַֽאֲשֶׁר־ה֥וּא עֹשֶׂ֖ה יְהוָ֥ה מַצְלִֽיחַ׃ ס | 23 |
nothing ruler house: home [the] prison to see: see [obj] all anything in/on/with hand: power his in/on/with in which LORD with him and which he/she/it to make: do LORD to prosper
