| וְאַחַר֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה בְּמַלְכ֖וּת אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֣סְתְּא מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרָ֑ס עֶזְרָא֙ בֶּן־שְׂרָיָ֔ה בֶּן־עֲזַרְיָ֖ה בֶּן־חִלְקִיָּֽה׃ | 1 |
and after [the] word: thing [the] these in/on/with royalty Artaxerxes king Persia Ezra son: child Seraiah son: child Azariah son: child Hilkiah
| בֶּן־שַׁלּ֥וּם בֶּן־צָדֹ֖וק בֶּן־אֲחִיטֽוּב׃ | 2 |

| בֶּן־אֲמַרְיָ֥ה בֶן־עֲזַרְיָ֖ה בֶּן־מְרָיֹֽות׃ | 3 |
son: child Amariah son: child Azariah son: child Meraioth
| בֶּן־זְרַֽחְיָ֥ה בֶן־עֻזִּ֖י בֶּן־בֻּקִּֽי׃ | 4 |
son: child Zerahiah son: child Uzzi son: child Bukki
| בֶּן־אֲבִישׁ֗וּעַ בֶּן־פִּֽינְחָס֙ בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָ֔ר בֶּן־אַהֲרֹ֥ן הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הָרֹֽאשׁ׃ | 5 |
son: child Abishua son: child Phinehas son: child Eleazar son: child Aaron [the] priest [the] head: leader
| ה֤וּא עֶזְרָא֙ עָלָ֣ה מִבָּבֶ֔ל וְהֽוּא־סֹפֵ֤ר מָהִיר֙ בְּתֹורַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּתֶּן־לֹ֣ו הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ כְּיַד־יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהָיו֙ עָלָ֔יו כֹּ֖ל בַּקָּשָׁתֹֽו׃ פ | 6 |
he/she/it Ezra to ascend: rise from Babylon and he/she/it secretary quick in/on/with instruction Moses which to give: give LORD God Israel and to give: give to/for him [the] king like/as hand: power LORD God his upon him all request his
| וַיַּֽעֲל֣וּ מִבְּנֵֽי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל וּמִן־הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֜ם וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֧ים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֛ים וְהַנְּתִינִ֖ים אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁ֖בַע לְאַרְתַּחְשַׁ֥סְתְּא הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ | 7 |
and to ascend: rise from son: descendant/people Israel and from [the] priest and [the] Levi and [the] to sing and [the] gatekeeper and [the] temple servant to(wards) Jerusalem in/on/with year seven to/for Artaxerxes [the] king
| וַיָּבֹ֥א יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֑י הִ֛יא שְׁנַ֥ת הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖ית לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ | 8 |
and to come (in): come Jerusalem in/on/with month [the] fifth he/she/it year [the] seventh to/for king
| כִּ֗י בְּאֶחָד֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשֹׁ֔ון ה֣וּא יְסֻ֔ד הַֽמַּעֲלָ֖ה מִבָּבֶ֑ל וּבְאֶחָ֞ד לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֗י בָּ֚א אֶל־יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם כְּיַד־אֱלֹהָ֖יו הַטֹּובָ֥ה עָלָֽיו׃ | 9 |
for in/on/with one to/for month [the] first he/she/it beginning [the] step from Babylon and in/on/with one to/for month [the] fifth to come (in): come to(wards) Jerusalem like/as hand: power God his [the] pleasant upon him
| כִּ֤י עֶזְרָא֙ הֵכִ֣ין לְבָבֹ֔ו לִדְרֹ֛ושׁ אֶת־תֹּורַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה וְלַעֲשֹׂ֑ת וּלְלַמֵּ֥ד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חֹ֥ק וּמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ ס | 10 |
for Ezra to establish: establish heart his to/for to seek [obj] instruction LORD and to/for to make: do and to/for to learn: teach in/on/with Israel statute: decree and justice: judgement
| וְזֶ֣ה ׀ פַּרְשֶׁ֣גֶן הַֽנִּשְׁתְּוָ֗ן אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָתַן֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֔סְתְּא לְעֶזְרָ֥א הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הַסֹּפֵ֑ר סֹפֵ֞ר דִּבְרֵ֧י מִצְוֹת־יְהוָ֛ה וְחֻקָּ֖יו עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ | 11 |
and this copy [the] letter which to give: give [the] king Artaxerxes to/for Ezra [the] priest [the] secretary secretary word: thing commandment LORD and statute: decree his upon Israel
| אַ֨רְתַּחְשַׁ֔סְתְּא מֶ֖לֶךְ מַלְכַיָּ֑א לְעֶזְרָ֣א כָ֠הֲנָא סָפַ֨ר דָּתָ֜א דִּֽי־אֱלָ֧הּ שְׁמַיָּ֛א גְּמִ֖יר וּכְעֶֽנֶת׃ | 12 |
Artaxerxes king king [the] to/for Ezra priest [the] scribe law [the] that god heaven [the] to complete and now
| מִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כָל־מִתְנַדַּ֣ב בְּמַלְכוּתִי֩ מִן־עַמָּ֨ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל וְכָהֲנֹ֣והִי וְלֵוָיֵ֗א לִמְהָ֧ךְ לִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֛ם עִמָּ֖ךְ יְהָֽךְ׃ | 13 |
from me to set: make command that all be willing in/on/with kingdom my from people [the] Israel and priest his and Levite [the] to/for to go to/for Jerusalem with you to go
| כָּל־קֳבֵ֗ל דִּי֩ מִן־קֳדָ֨ם מַלְכָּ֜א וְשִׁבְעַ֤ת יָעֲטֹ֙הִי֙ שְׁלִ֔יחַ לְבַקָּרָ֥א עַל־יְה֖וּד וְלִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם בְּדָ֥ת אֱלָהָ֖ךְ דִּ֥י בִידָֽךְ׃ | 14 |
like/as to/for before: because that from before king [the] and seven counsellor his to send to/for to enquire since Judah and to/for Jerusalem in/on/with law god your that in/on/with hand your
| וּלְהֵיבָלָ֖ה כְּסַ֣ף וּדְהַ֑ב דִּֽי־מַלְכָּ֣א וְיָעֲטֹ֗והִי הִתְנַדַּ֙בוּ֙ לֶאֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל דִּ֥י בִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֖ם מִשְׁכְּנֵֽהּ׃ | 15 |
and to/for to bring silver and gold that king [the] and counsellor his be willing to/for god Israel that in/on/with Jerusalem habitation his
| וְכֹל֙ כְּסַ֣ף וּדְהַ֔ב דִּ֣י תְהַשְׁכַּ֔ח בְּכֹ֖ל מְדִינַ֣ת בָּבֶ֑ל עִם֩ הִתְנַדָּב֨וּת עַמָּ֤א וְכָֽהֲנַיָּא֙ מִֽתְנַדְּבִ֔ין לְבֵ֥ית אֱלָהֲהֹ֖ם דִּ֥י בִירוּשְׁלֶֽם׃ | 16 |
and all silver and gold that to find in/on/with all province Babylon with be willing people [the] and priest [the] be willing to/for house god their that in/on/with Jerusalem
| כָּל־קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָה֩ אָסְפַּ֨רְנָא תִקְנֵ֜א בְּכַסְפָּ֣א דְנָ֗ה תֹּורִ֤ין ׀ דִּכְרִין֙ אִמְּרִ֔ין וּמִנְחָתְהֹ֖ון וְנִסְכֵּיהֹ֑ון וּתְקָרֵ֣ב הִמֹּ֔ו עַֽל־מַדְבְּחָ֔ה דִּ֛י בֵּ֥ית אֱלָהֲכֹ֖ם דִּ֥י בִירוּשְׁלֶֽם׃ | 17 |
like/as to/for before: because this diligently to buy in/on/with silver [the] this bullock ram lamb and offering their and drink offering their and to approach they since altar [the] that house god your that in/on/with Jerusalem
| וּמָ֣ה דִי֩ עֲלַיִךְ (עֲלָ֨ךְ) וְעַל־אֶחַיִךְ (אֶחָ֜ךְ) יִיטַ֗ב בִּשְׁאָ֛ר כַּסְפָּ֥א וְדַהֲבָ֖ה לְמֶעְבַּ֑ד כִּרְע֥וּת אֱלָהֲכֹ֖ם תַּעַבְדֽוּן׃ | 18 |
and what? that (since you *Qk) and since (brother your *Qk) be good in/on/with remainder silver [the] and gold [the] to/for to make like/as pleasure god your to make
| וּמָֽאנַיָּא֙ דִּֽי־מִתְיַהֲבִ֣ין לָ֔ךְ לְפָלְחָ֖ן בֵּ֣ית אֱלָהָ֑ךְ הַשְׁלֵ֕ם קֳדָ֖ם אֱלָ֥הּ יְרוּשְׁלֶֽם׃ | 19 |
and utensil [the] that to give to/for you to/for service house god your be complete before god Jerusalem
| וּשְׁאָ֗ר חַשְׁחוּת֙ בֵּ֣ית אֱלָהָ֔ךְ דִּ֥י יִפֶּל־לָ֖ךְ לְמִנְתַּ֑ן תִּנְתֵּ֕ן מִן־בֵּ֖ית גִּנְזֵ֥י מַלְכָּֽא׃ | 20 |
and remainder requirement house god your that to fall to/for you to/for to give: give to give: give from house treasure king [the]
| וּ֠מִנִּי אֲנָ֞ה אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֤סְתְּא מַלְכָּא֙ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵ֔ם לְכֹל֙ גִּזַּֽבְרַיָּ֔א דִּ֖י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑ה דִּ֣י כָל־דִּ֣י יִ֠שְׁאֲלֶנְכֹון עֶזְרָ֨א כָהֲנָ֜ה סָפַ֤ר דָּתָא֙ דִּֽי־אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔א אָסְפַּ֖רְנָא יִתְעֲבִֽד׃ | 21 |
and from me me Artaxerxes king [the] to set: make command to/for all treasurer [the] that in/on/with beyond River [the] that all that to ask you Ezra priest [the] scribe law [the] that god heaven [the] diligently to make
| עַד־כְּסַף֮ כַּכְּרִ֣ין מְאָה֒ וְעַד־חִנְטִין֙ כֹּרִ֣ין מְאָ֔ה וְעַד־חֲמַר֙ בַּתִּ֣ין מְאָ֔ה וְעַד־בַּתִּ֥ין מְשַׁ֖ח מְאָ֑ה וּמְלַ֖ח דִּי־לָ֥א כְתָֽב׃ | 22 |
till silver talent hundred and till wheat kor hundred and till wine bath hundred and till bath oil hundred and salt that not inscription
| כָּל־דִּ֗י מִן־טַ֙עַם֙ אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔א יִתְעֲבֵד֙ אַדְרַזְדָּ֔א לְבֵ֖ית אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑א דִּֽי־לְמָ֤ה לֶֽהֱוֵא֙ קְצַ֔ף עַל־מַלְכ֥וּת מַלְכָּ֖א וּבְנֹֽוהִי׃ | 23 |
all that from command god heaven [the] to make diligently to/for house god heaven [the] that to/for what? to be wrath since kingdom king [the] and son: child his
| וּלְכֹ֣ם מְהֹודְעִ֗ין דִּ֣י כָל־כָּהֲנַיָּ֣א וְ֠לֵוָיֵא זַמָּ֨רַיָּ֤א תָרָֽעַיָּא֙ נְתִ֣ינַיָּ֔א וּפָ֣לְחֵ֔י בֵּ֖ית אֱלָהָ֣א דְנָ֑ה מִנְדָּ֤ה בְלֹו֙ וַהֲלָ֔ךְ לָ֥א שַׁלִּ֖יט לְמִרְמֵ֥א עֲלֵיהֹֽם׃ | 24 |
and to/for you to know that all priest [the] and Levite [the] singer [the] doorkeeper [the] temple servant [the] and to serve house god [the] this tribute tribute and toll not ruling to/for to cast since them
| וְאַ֣נְתְּ עֶזְרָ֗א כְּחָכְמַ֨ת אֱלָהָ֤ךְ דִּֽי־בִידָךְ֙ מֶ֣נִּי שָׁפְטִ֞ין וְדַיָּנִ֗ין דִּי־לֶהֱוֹ֤ן דָּאֲנִין (דָּאיְנִין֙) לְכָל־עַמָּה֙ דִּ֚י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔ה לְכָל־יָדְעֵ֖י דָּתֵ֣י אֱלָהָ֑ךְ וְדִ֧י לָ֦א יָדַ֖ע תְּהֹודְעֽוּן׃ | 25 |
and you Ezra like/as wisdom god your that in/on/with hand your to reckon/appoint to judge and judge that to be (to judge *Qk) to/for all people [the] that in/on/with beyond River [the] to/for all to know law god your and that not to know to know
| וְכָל־דִּי־לָא֩ לֶהֱוֵ֨א עָבֵ֜ד דָּתָ֣א דִֽי־אֱלָהָ֗ךְ וְדָתָא֙ דִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֔א אָסְפַּ֕רְנָא דִּינָ֕ה לֶהֱוֵ֥א מִתְעֲבֵ֖ד מִנֵּ֑הּ הֵ֤ן לְמֹות֙ הֵ֣ן לִשְׁרֹשׁוּ (לִשְׁרֹשִׁ֔י) הֵן־לַעֲנָ֥שׁ נִכְסִ֖ין וְלֶאֱסוּרִֽין׃ פ | 26 |
and all that not to be to make law [the] that god your and law [the] that king [the] diligently judgment [the] to be to make from him if to/for death if (to/for banishment *Qk) if to/for confiscation wealth and to/for bond
| בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹותֵ֑ינוּ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֤ן כָּזֹאת֙ בְּלֵ֣ב הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לְפָאֵ֕ר אֶת־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ | 27 |
to bless LORD God father our which to give: put like/as this in/on/with heart [the] king to/for to beautify [obj] house: temple LORD which in/on/with Jerusalem
| וְעָלַ֣י הִטָּה־חֶ֗סֶד לִפְנֵ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְיֹֽועֲצָ֔יו וּלְכָל־שָׂרֵ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַגִּבֹּרִ֑ים וַאֲנִ֣י הִתְחַזַּ֗קְתִּי כְּיַד־יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהַי֙ עָלַ֔י וָאֶקְבְּצָ֧ה מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֛ל רָאשִׁ֖ים לַעֲלֹ֥ות עִמִּֽי׃ פ | 28 |
and upon me to stretch kindness to/for face: before [the] king and to advise him and to/for all ruler [the] king [the] mighty man and I to strengthen: strengthen like/as hand: power LORD God my upon me and to gather [emph?] from Israel head: leader to/for to ascend: rise with me
