2 מְלָכִים 24
| בְּיָמָ֣יו עָלָ֔ה נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל וַיְהִי־לֹ֨ו יְהֹויָקִ֥ים עֶ֙בֶד֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וַיָּ֖שָׁב וַיִּמְרָד־בֹּֽו׃ | 1 |
In days his he came up Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon and he was of him Jehoiakim a subject three years and he turned back and he rebelled against him.
| וַיְשַׁלַּ֣ח יְהוָ֣ה ׀ בֹּ֡ו אֶת־גְּדוּדֵ֣י כַשְׂדִּים֩ וְאֶת־גְּדוּדֵ֨י אֲרָ֜ם וְאֵ֣ת ׀ גְּדוּדֵ֣י מֹואָ֗ב וְאֵת֙ גְּדוּדֵ֣י בְנֵֽי־עַמֹּ֔ון וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֥ם בִּֽיהוּדָ֖ה לְהַֽאֲבִידֹ֑ו כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד עֲבָדָ֥יו הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃ | 2 |
And he sent Yahweh - on him [the] marauding bands of [the] Chaldeans and [the] marauding bands of Aram and - [the] marauding bands of Moab and [the] marauding bands of [the] people of Ammon and he sent them on Judah to destroy it according to [the] word of Yahweh which he had spoken by [the] hand of servants his the prophets.
| אַ֣ךְ ׀ עַל־פִּ֣י יְהוָ֗ה הָֽיְתָה֙ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה לְהָסִ֖יר מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑יו בְּחַטֹּ֣את מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָֽׂה׃ | 3 |
Surely - on [the] mouth of Yahweh it happened in Judah to remove [it] from on face his for [the] sins of Manasseh according to all that he had done.
| וְגַ֤ם דַּֽם־הַנָּקִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁפָ֔ךְ וַיְמַלֵּ֥א אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם דָּ֣ם נָקִ֑י וְלֹֽא־אָבָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לִסְלֹֽחַ׃ | 4 |
And also [the] blood of the innocent which he had shed and he filled Jerusalem blood innocent and not he was willing Yahweh to forgive.
| וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהֹויָקִ֖ים וְכָל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃ | 5 |
And [the] rest of [the] matters of Jehoiakim and all that he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.
| וַיִּשְׁכַּ֥ב יְהֹויָקִ֖ים עִם־אֲבֹתָ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְהֹויָכִ֥ין בְּנֹ֖ו תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ | 6 |
And he lay down Jehoiakim with ancestors his and he became king Jehoiachin son his in place of him.
| וְלֹֽא־הֹסִ֥יף עֹוד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם לָצֵ֖את מֵֽאַרְצֹ֑ו כִּֽי־לָקַ֞ח מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֗ל מִנַּ֤חַל מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ עַד־נְהַר־פְּרָ֔ת כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיְתָ֖ה לְמֶ֥לֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ פ | 7 |
And not he repeated again [the] king of Egypt to come out from own land his for he had taken [the] king of Babylon from [the] wadi of Egypt to [the] river of Euphrates all that it had belonged to [the] king of Egypt.
| בֶּן־שְׁמֹנֶ֨ה עֶשְׂרֵ֤ה שָׁנָה֙ יְהֹויָכִ֣ין בְּמָלְכֹ֔ו וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֔ים מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמֹּ֔ו נְחֻשְׁתָּ֥א בַת־אֶלְנָתָ֖ן מִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ | 8 |
[was] a son of Eight-teen year[s] Jehoiachin when became king he and three months he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Nehushta [the] daughter of Elnathan from Jerusalem.
| וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה אָבִֽיו׃ | 9 |
And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that he had done father his.
| בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא עָלָה (עָל֗וּ) עַבְדֵ֛י נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וַתָּבֹ֥א הָעִ֖יר בַּמָּצֹֽור׃ | 10 |
At the time that (they went up *QK) [the] servants of Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem and it came the city in state of siege.
| וַיָּבֹ֛א נְבוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל עַל־הָעִ֑יר וַעֲבָדָ֖יו צָרִ֥ים עָלֶֽיהָ׃ | 11 |
And he came Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon to the city and servants his [were] laying siege on it.
| וַיֵּצֵ֞א יְהֹויָכִ֤ין מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֙ עַל־מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל ה֣וּא וְאִמֹּ֔ו וַעֲבָדָ֖יו וְשָׂרָ֣יו וְסָֽרִיסָ֑יו וַיִּקַּ֤ח אֹתֹו֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל בִּשְׁנַ֥ת שְׁמֹנֶ֖ה לְמָלְכֹֽו׃ | 12 |
And he went out Jehoiachin [the] king of Judah to [the] king of Babylon he and mother his and servants his and officials his and court-officials his and he took him [the] king of Babylon in year eight of reigning his.
| וַיֹּוצֵ֣א מִשָּׁ֗ם אֶת־כָּל־אֹוצְרֹות֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה וְאֹֽוצְרֹ֖ות בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיְקַצֵּ֞ץ אֶת־כָּל־כְּלֵ֣י הַזָּהָ֗ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֜ה שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּהֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֔ה כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ | 13 |
And he brought out from there all [the] treasures of [the] house of Yahweh and [the] treasures of [the] house of the king and he cut up all [the] articles of gold which he had made Solomon [the] king of Israel for [the] temple of Yahweh just as he had spoken Yahweh.
| וְהִגְלָ֣ה אֶת־כָּל־יְ֠רוּשָׁלַ͏ִם וְֽאֶת־כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֞ים וְאֵ֣ת ׀ כָּל־גִּבֹּורֵ֣י הַחַ֗יִל עֲשָׂרָה (עֲשֶׂ֤רֶת) אֲלָפִים֙ גֹּולֶ֔ה וְכָל־הֶחָרָ֖שׁ וְהַמַּסְגֵּ֑ר לֹ֣א נִשְׁאַ֔ר זוּלַ֖ת דַּלַּ֥ת עַם־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ | 14 |
And he took into exile all Jerusalem and all the officials and - all [the] mighty [men] of strength (ten *Qk) thousand exile[s] and every craftsman and smith not anyone was left except [the] poor people of [the] people of the land.
| וַיֶּ֥גֶל אֶת־יְהֹויָכִ֖ין בָּבֶ֑לָה וְאֶת־אֵ֣ם הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ וְאֶת־נְשֵׁ֨י הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ וְאֶת־סָרִיסָ֗יו וְאֵת֙ אֱוִלֵי (אֵילֵ֣י) הָאָ֔רֶץ הֹולִ֛יךְ גֹּולָ֥ה מִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בָּבֶֽלָה׃ | 15 |
And he took into exile Jehoiachin Babylon towards and [the] mother of the king and [the] wives of the king and court-officials his and ([the] leaders of *QK) the land he led away exile[s] from Jerusalem Babylon towards.
| וְאֵת֩ כָּל־אַנְשֵׁ֨י הַחַ֜יִל שִׁבְעַ֣ת אֲלָפִ֗ים וְהֶחָרָ֤שׁ וְהַמַּסְגֵּר֙ אֶ֔לֶף הַכֹּ֕ל גִּבֹּורִ֖ים עֹשֵׂ֣י מִלְחָמָ֑ה וַיְבִיאֵ֧ם מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֛ל גֹּולָ֖ה בָּבֶֽלָה׃ | 16 |
And all [the] men of strength seven thousand and the craftsman and the smith one thousand everyone warriors makers of war and he brought them [the] king of Babylon exile[s] Babylon towards.
| וַיַּמְלֵ֧ךְ מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֛ל אֶת־מַתַּנְיָ֥ה דֹדֹ֖ו תַּחְתָּ֑יו וַיַּסֵּ֥ב אֶת־שְׁמֹ֖ו צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ פ | 17 |
And he made king [the] king of Babylon Mattaniah uncle his in place of him and he changed name his Zedekiah.
| בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְאַחַ֤ת שָׁנָה֙ צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ בְמָלְכֹ֔ו וְאַחַ֤ת עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמֹּ֔ו חֲמִיטַל (חֲמוּטַ֥ל) בַּֽת־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃ | 18 |
[was] a son of Twenty and one year[s] Zedekiah when became king he and one plus ten year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his ([was] Hamutal *QK) [the] daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
| וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה יְהֹויָקִֽים׃ | 19 |
And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that he had done Jehoiakim.
| כִּ֣י ׀ עַל־אַ֣ף יְהוָ֗ה הָיְתָ֤ה בִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ וּבִ֣יהוּדָ֔ה עַד־הִשְׁלִכֹ֥ו אֹתָ֖ם מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑יו וַיִּמְרֹ֥ד צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ בְּמֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶֽל׃ ס | 20 |
For - on [the] anger of Yahweh it happened in Jerusalem and in Judah until threw he them from on face his and he rebelled Zedekiah against [the] king of Babylon.
