< Ezekiela 24 >

1 HIKI mai la ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i ka iwa o ka makahiki, i ka umi o ka malama, i ka la umi o ka malama, i mai la,
The word of Yahweh came to me in the ninth year, in the tenth month, and on the tenth day of the month, saying,
2 E ke keiki a ke kanaka, e kakau iho oe nou i ka inoa o ka la, o keia la no; ua hiki aku ke alii o Babulona ia Ierusalema i keia la.
“Son of man, write for yourself the name of this day, this exact day, for this exact day the king of Babylon has besieged Jerusalem.
3 A e hai aku oe i ka olelo nane i ka ohana kipi, a e olelo aku ia lakou, Ke i mai nei Iehova ka Haku penei; E kau ae i ka ipu hoolapalapa, e kau ae, a e ninini hoi i ka wai iloko ona.
So speak a proverb against this rebellious house, a parable. Say to them, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Place the cooking pot. Place it and pour water into it.
4 E hoiliili oe i kona mau apana iloko ona, i na apana maikai hoi a pau, i ka uha, a me ka uhamua; a e hoopiha aku ia ia i na iwi i waeia.
Gather pieces of food within it, every good piece—the thigh and shoulder— and fill it with the best bones.
5 E lawe i ka mea waeia o ka ohana, e hoopuu hoi i na iwi malalo iho ona, a e hoolapalapa lea, a e baila aku i na iwi maloko ona.
Take the best of the flock and pile up the bones under it. Bring it to a boil and cook the bones in it.
6 Nolaila, ke i mai nei Iehova ka Haku penei; Anwe ke kulanakanhale koko, ka ipu baila o kona lepohao maloko, aole hoi i puka aku kona lepo mailoko aku ona! e lawe mai ia iwaho pakahi na apana, aole e haule ka pohaku-pu maluna ona.
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Woe to the city of blood, a cooking pot that has rust in it and that rust will not come out of it. Take piece after piece from it, but do not cast lots for it.
7 No ka mea, aia maloko ona kona koko; ua kau aku oia ia maluna o ka pohaku, aole ia i ninini ia ia ma ka aina e uhi ia ia me ka lepo;
For her blood is in the midst of her. She has set it on the smooth rock; she has not poured it out on the ground to cover it with dust,
8 I hoopii ae au i ka ukiuki a e hoopai hoi; ua kau aku au i kona koko maluna o ka pohaku i ole ia e uhiia.
so it brings fury up to exact vengeance. I placed her blood on the smooth rock so it could not be covered.
9 Nolaila, ke i mai nei Iehova ka Haku, Auwe ke kulanakauhale koko! e hana au i ka puu no ke ahi a nui.
Therefore, the Lord Yahweh says this: Woe to the city of blood. I will also enlarge the pile of wood.
10 E hoopuu oe i ka wahie maluna, e kuni i ke ahi, e hoopau i ka io, e hookomo pono i ka mea ala, a e hoopauia na iwi i ke ahi.
Stack up the wood and kindle the fire. Cook the meat well and mix in the spices and let the bones be charred.
11 Alaila kau ae ia ia e hakahaka ana maluna o kona mau lanahu i wela ai ke keleawe ona a wela, i hooheheea kona lepo maloko ona, a e pau hoi kona lepo i ke ahi.
Then set the pot on its coals empty, in order to heat and scorch its bronze, so its uncleanness within it will be melted, its corrosion consumed.'
12 He mea hooluhi kona lepo, aole hoi i puka aku kona lepo mailoko aku ona; a maloko no o ke ahi kona lepo.
She has become weary because of toil, but her corrosion has not gone out of her by the fire.
13 Aia iloko o kou haumia ana ka moe kolohe; a no ko'u hoomaemae ana ia oe, aole nae oe i maemae, nolaila aole oe e maemae e a hookau aku au i ko'u ukiuki a kau ia maluna o'u.
Your shameful behavior is in your uncleanness. Because I tried to cleanse you but still you would not be cleansed from your uncleanness, you will not be cleansed anymore until I have satisfied my fury upon you.
14 Na'u na Iehova i olelo, a e hiki mai no ia, a e hana aku no au; aole au e hoi hope, aole au e menemene, aole hoi au e huli ae; o like me kou mau aoao, a mamuli o kau hana ana, e hoopai ai lakou ia oe, wahi a Iehova ka Haku.
I, Yahweh, have declared it, and I will do it. I will not relent nor will I rest from it. As your ways were, and as your activities, they will judge you!—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.”
15 Hiki mai la hoi ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i mai la,
Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
16 E ke keiki a ke kanaka, ke lawe nei au, ea, i ka mea aloha o kou mau maka ma ka hahau ana; aka, mai kanikau oe, aole hoi e uwe, aole hoi e kahe iho kou waimaka ilalo.
“Son of man! Behold, I am taking the desire of your eyes from you with a plague, but you must not mourn nor weep, and your tears must not flow.
17 Waiho i ka auwe ana, aole e kanikau no na mea make, e kau ae hoi i kou papale hainaka maluna ou, a e hawele ae i kou mau kamaa ma kou mau wawae, aole hoi e uhi i kou mau lehulehe, aole hoi e ai i ka berena a kanaka.
You must groan silently. Do not conduct a funeral for the dead. Tie your turban on you and place your sandals on your feet, but do not veil your facial hair or eat the bread of men who mourn for having lost their wives.”
18 Pela, i olelo aku ai au i kanaka i kakahiaka; a i ke ahiahi, make iho ka'u wahine: a hana aku au i kakahiaka ae e like me ka mea i kanohaia mai ia'u.
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening. In the morning I did what I had been commanded to do.
19 Ninau mai la hoi na kanaka ia'u, Aole anei oe e hai mai ia makou i ke ano o keia mau mea ia makou au e hana nei?
The people asked me, “Will you not tell us what these things mean, the things that you are doing?”
20 Alaila hai aku au ia lakou, Ua hiki mai ka olelo a Iehova ia'u, i mai la,
So I said to them, “The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
21 E olelo aku i ka ohana a Iseraela, Ke i mai nei Iehova ka Haku, penei; Eia hoi, e hoohaumia au i kuu keenakapu, i ko oukou mea nani e ikaika ai, ka mea makemake i ko oukou mau maka, o ka mea hoi a ko oukou uhane i menemene ai; a o na keiki kane a me na kaikamahine a oukou i koe ia oukou, e haule lakou i ka pahikaua.
'Say to the house of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I will desecrate my sanctuary—the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and your sons and your daughters whom you left behind will fall by the sword.
22 A e hana oukou me ka'u i hana'i; aole oukou e uhi i ko oukou mau lehelehe, aole hoi o ai i ka berena a kanaka.
Then you will do exactly as I have done: you will not veil your facial hair, nor eat the bread of mourning men!
23 A e kau no ko oukou mau papale hainaka maluna o ko oukou mau poo, a me na kamaa o oukou ma ko oukou mau wawae: aole oukou e kanikau, aole hoi e uwe, aka, e olala ae oukou no ko oukou hewa, a e u ae hoi kekahi i kekahi.
Instead, your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet; you will not mourn nor weep, for you will melt away in your iniquities, and each man will groan for his brother.
24 A ua lilo hoi o Ezekiela i hoailona no oukou; e like me ka mea a pau ana i hana'i e hana aku ai oukou; a hiki mai ia mea, alaila e ike oukou, owau no o Iehova ka Haku.
So Ezekiel will be a sign for you, as everything that he has done you will do when this comes. Then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh!'”
“But you, son of man, on the day that I capture their temple, which is their joy, their pride, and what they see and desire—and when I take away their sons and daughters—
26 A o ka mea pakele ia la, e hele mai no ia ia oe, e hookomo i ka lono i kou pepeiao e lohe ai?
on that day, a refugee will come to you to give you the news!
27 Ia la, e weheia kou waha i ka mea i pakele, a e olelo oe, aole hoi e kuli nou aku; a e lilo oe i hoailona no lakou; a e ike no lakou owau no Iehova ka Haku.
On that day your mouth will be opened up to that refugee and you will speak—you will no longer be silent. You will be a sign for them so that they will know that I am Yahweh.”
