ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 88

1 ૧ કોરાના દીકરાઓનું ગાયન; ગીત. મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે; રાગ માહલાથ-લાનોથ. હેમાન એઝ્રાહીનું માસ્કીલ. હે યહોવાહ, મારો ઉદ્ધારકરનાર ઈશ્વર, મેં રાતદિવસ તમારી આગળ વિનંતી કરી છે.

A song, a psalm of the sons of Korah; for the chief musician; set to the Mahalath Leannoth style. A maschil of Heman the Ezrahite. Yahweh, God of my salvation, I cry out day and night before you.

2 ૨ મારી પ્રાર્થના સાંભળો; મારા પોકાર પર ધ્યાન આપો.

Listen to my prayer; pay attention to my cry.

3 ૩ કારણ કે મારો જીવ ઘણો દુઃખી છે અને મારો પ્રાણ શેઓલ તરફ ખેંચાઈ જાય છે. (Sheol h7585)

For I am filled with troubles, and my life has reached Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

4 ૪ કબરમાં ઊતરનાર ભેગો હું ગણાયેલો છું; હું નિરાધાર માણસના જેવો છું.

People treat me like those who go down into the pit; I am a man with no strength.

5 ૫ મને તજીને મૃત્યુ પામેલાઓની સાથે ગણી લીધો છે; મારી નંખાયેલા, કબરમાં સૂતેલા કે, જેઓનું તમે સ્મરણ કરતા નથી, જેઓ તમારા હાથથી દૂર થયેલા છે, તેમના જેવો હું છું.

I am abandoned among the dead; I am like the dead who lie in the grave, about whom you care no more because they are cut off from your power.

6 ૬ તમે મને છેક નીચલા ખાડામાં ધકેલી દીધો છે, તે સ્થળો અંધકારથી ભરેલાં અને ઊંડાં છે.

You place me in the lowest part of the pit, in the dark and deep places.

7 ૭ મારા પર તમારો કોપ અતિ ભારે છે અને તમારાં સર્વ મોજાં મારા પર ફરી વળ્યાં છે.

Your wrath lies heavy on me, and all your waves crash over me. (Selah)

8 ૮ કેમ કે તમે મારા ઓળખીતાઓને મારી પાસેથી દૂર કર્યા છે. તેઓ મારાથી આંચકો પામે એવો તમે મને કર્યો છે. હું ફાંદામાં ફસાઈ ગયો છું અને તેમાંથી બહાર નીકળી શકતો નથી.

Because of you, my acquaintances avoid me. You have made me a shocking sight to them. I am hemmed in and I cannot escape.

9 ૯ દુ: ખને લીધે મારી આંખો ક્ષીણ થાય છે; હે યહોવાહ, મેં દરરોજ તમને અરજ કરી છે; તમારી સંમુખ મેં મારા હાથ જોડ્યા છે.

My eyes grow weary from trouble; All day long I call out to you, Yahweh; I spread out my hands to you.

10 ૧૦ શું તમે મરણ પામેલાઓને ચમત્કાર બતાવશો? શું મરણ પામેલા ઊઠીને તમારી આભારસ્તુતિ કરશે? (સેલાહ)

Will you do wonders for the dead? Will those who have died rise and praise you? (Selah)

11 ૧૧ શું કબરમાં તમારી કૃપા કે, વિનાશમાં તમારું વિશ્વાસપણું જાહેર કરવામાં આવશે?

Will your covenant faithfulness be proclaimed in the grave, your loyalty in the place of the dead?

12 ૧૨ શું અંધકારમાં તમારાં આશ્ચર્યકારક કૃત્યો અને વિસ્મરણના દેશમાં તમારા ન્યાયીપણાનાં કૃત્યો વિષે જણાવવામાં આવશે?

Will your wonderful deeds be known in the darkness, or your righteousness in the place of forgetfulness?

13 ૧૩ પણ, હે યહોવાહ, હું પોકાર કરીશ; સવારે મારી પ્રાર્થના તમારી સમક્ષ આવશે.

But I cry to you, Yahweh; in the morning my prayer comes before you.

14 ૧૪ હે યહોવાહ, તમે મને કેમ તજી દીધો છે? શા માટે તમે તમારું મુખ મારાથી ફેરવો છો?

Yahweh, why do you reject me? Why do you hide your face from me?

15 ૧૫ મારી યુવાવસ્થાથી મારા પર દુ: ખ આવી પડ્યાં છે અને હું મરણતોલ થઈ ગયો છું. તમારો ત્રાસ વેઠતાં હું ગભરાઈ ગયો, હું કંઈ કરી શકતો નથી.

I have always been afflicted and on the verge of death since my youth. I have suffered from your terrors; I am in despair.

16 ૧૬ તમારો ઉગ્ર કોપ મારા પર આવી પડ્યો છે અને તમારા ત્રાસે મારો નાશ કર્યો છે.

Your angry actions have passed over me, and your terrifying deeds have annihilated me.

17 ૧૭ તેઓએ પાણીની જેમ દરરોજ મને ઘેર્યો છે; તેઓ ભેગા થઈને મારી આસપાસ ફરી વળ્યા છે.

They surround me like water all the day long; they have all encircled me.

18 ૧૮ તમે મારા મિત્રોને અને સંબંધીઓને મારાથી દૂર કર્યા છે. મારા સંબંધીઓમાં હવે તો અંધકાર જ રહ્યો છે.

You have removed every friend and acquaintance from me. My only acquaintance is the darkness.
